I love the old timey quotes from people remembering the Interurban trolley (train? some bygone mass transit) and bench / metal statue commemorating it. Lots of pretty planters, a p-patch to explore on the upper level, and WIDE spaces for such a small-ish park. Lots of grass for pooches to run around, a great sand pit with tons of toys to borrow, couple swings and unique and new-fangled climbing equipment. They also have a more traditional area with your twisty slides, fireman pole, etc. This park also boasts a few picnic tables and lots of seating around the concrete planters and steps, so great picnic spot. Keep in mind there isn't any shade, though. Has restrooms and a water fountain.

We'd prepped our kids for "going to a park without a playground" and then were OH SO ENTHUSIASTIC about this mission..... as we drove past the Bryant Neighborhood Playground I could literally hear three tiny gasps in the back seat..... we pulled over not-un-sharply and the kids could not get out of the car fast enough. This is such a lovely little playground. Equipment is older but in a very quaint way and still completely useable and safe. I LOVED the little merry-go-round.... its been so long since I've seen one of these! There was also tons of green space and trees for shade. One of my little monkeys found a great climbing tree and gave me a few more grey hairs. As we had never been to this part of Seattle before, I took a little walk through the neighborhoods - lots of cherry blossoms and many houses have free-little-libraries. I absolutely loved it. Several square picnic tables spaced on the street side of the playground and a tennis court available..... this is certainly a place we'll consider for future visits :)

Pretty decent courts, played there during the week and it wasnt busy at all. We were the only ones there at this 3 court set up. Nets are pretty good, no major cracks on the court. There is also a practice hitting board you can hit on too. Played soccer for the meetup.com thing at the soccer field and the field was in good shape. Nice upkeep of the field. There used to be a tennis court next to that but no more. Anyways, pretty nice park, a lot of people walking their dogs, kids running around etc. Nice environment and good place to bring your family. Just nice to sit solo enjoying a hot mocha as the sun sets. Parklet or plaza is located on Greenwood Ave, on Metro Route 5, between the public library and Valhalla Sandwiches. Alice Ball Park offers perimeter seating with patch of grass, nice garden beds, and tiny nature trail. No playground, but a nice neighborhood open space. Nothing creepy, no litter, no grafitti. Just a toy truck left behind and a Jump bike to rent. Quite the pleasant transformation.

The large sandbox is full of toys, trucks, cars, etc. that kids are welcome to use during their visit to the park. Plastic slides and more are available in the field that makes up the park. It's often crowded, as a small park can be, and very few if any are masked (even at the height of the pandemic). But it's a sweet spot for a quick break as you wander the neighborhood.

The dirt field was fun as it allowed us to adapt our soccer skills to different natural conditions (standing water on a dirt field, inches thick mud, loose dirt, and dirt hard as pavement because it froze in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather after a rain). The times the dirt froze helped up become more conscientious runners on the field, especially in regards to how we would run so our feet would not catch on the frozen dirt. Aside from the soccer field, there is grass area to warm up, walk around, or take a picnic. A trail system winds around the two ponds. On my visit today, Wednesday 26 July 2023, I saw geese, ducks, a great blue heron, a few small blue dragonflies, and gray squirrels. The restroom building had running water and soap. Parking was abundant as it was quiet, on days we had soccer games it could fill up quickly.

Also a short distance away is Jerseys Sports Bar for after game nacho's & beers.
