Mar 12, I woke with a toothache. The tooth was under my bridge. Instant panic at the bill. I walked into Sand Mine with dread as I had the same issue last year at a different dentist office and they wanted $7500-$10,000 to remove the bridge, give me a root canal and leave me toothless for 6 weeks for the new bridge. I opted for the antibiotic, the pain went away and I dodged a bullet. But now the infection/absess was back. Dr. Nirh came in with a big smile, talked calmly, showed me my x-rays and exactly what was going on. Basically, the infection lays dormant and will continue to return if not treated properly. Simply, I need a root canal which can be performed through the bridge with a small hole. Not ripping/sawing/breaking the bridge off as I was told at the other dentist office. I do have to have this part done with a specialist right down the street next week, but what a relief! I was prescriped Ibuprofen and Amoxicillian and today feel some pain relief. My cost yesterday: $0 for the xrays (covered by insuarnce) and my co-pay for the refilling of the "hole" after the procedure will be $145. I'm not sure what the root canal will cost, but I'm sure not $10,000. The staff were great, Dr Nirh was calming and layed back and I would highly recommmend this dental office! I am 62 years old. We've been coming here for about a year and a half now with no issues. Staff is wonderful and helpful. They were recently able to help me cancel our appointments and shift them to the next day very easily. That meant that I was able to try out a new hygienist - no complaints. I don't usually give five star reviews but in this case it's well deserved. I have been looking for a dentist since I moved four years ago. I have not had a good experience. In my fifty plus years I only have had two cavities and one crown. However, It seems that most dentists all look to get their payday with my teeth. The opposite was my experience with Sand Mine Dentistry. Taking x-rays and examining my teeth Dr. Nirh said everything looked good. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was exceptional and was very gentle which also made for a good experience. If you're looking for a dentist this is the one to go to. read more

I saw that the new building was open. I've been trying to find a new dentist for a couple months but they're booked out or too far. Not Sand Mine. I only stopped in to see if they accepted my insurance. Not only do they but they were able to take me in that minute and get my X-rays and exam done. Not only that, they offered me a cleaning in 20 hours. Who gets that kind of care?! The dental assistant Sandra was really nice and Dr Nirh gave me a comprehensive overview of his exam findings. He explained things to me about my dental needs no dentist ever did prior. They're super curious to see what your goals are and they seem to respect those boundaries. Everything is brand new; the building and the equipment. The only thing I didn't like is that I was asked to text my digital insurance card to the business cell phone. That made me feel uncomfortable. My insurance plan explicitly stated that the provider doesn't need a copy of the card. I think you should trust your care to Dr. Nirh. The office atmosphere is wonderful. I arrived much earlier than my appointment, because I didn't know how the traffic would be. I sat in the beautiful lobby, while the sounds of Kenny G played. That was very relaxing. Ashley was great with my x-rays and cleaning! Dr. Nirh was awesome! He did my exam and did not try to sell me procedures I don't need (unlike my previous dental office, which shall remain nameless). Dr. Nirh was friendly, honest and made me feel like he truly cared about me. I was able to take advantage of the new patient FULL xrays, cleaning and exam, all for only $99! That was truly helpful, as I do not have dental insurance at this time. (My ex dental office, which I've been a patient for several years, would not even give me a cleaning unless I paid full price for the xrays and exam). That is why I am so happy with Sand Mine Dentistry; The entire office staff, hygienists and Dr. Nirh made me feel welcomed and respected! Sometimes when people have financial struggles, it really helps to have someone like Dr. NIrh and the Sand Mine Dentistry staff to treat you with respect and dignity; not deny or refuse you any service because you can't afford all of the treatments they push on you, as my ex dentist office did. This is why I searched for a better dentistry office and found Sand Mine Dentistry at the RIGHT time, and this will be for my dental office from now on!
