This is an amazing place. Came here for two weddings. One was my brother-in-laws back in Nov 2017 and one was my bestie's that took place over memorial day weekend. Everyone there was very courteous, attentive and patient. They all have a good memory too. The server named Super Joe recognized me from last year's wedding and recalled I was unable to drink since I was pregnant and came over to congratulate me then offered to bring over drinks the rest of the night to me. Joe; the manager helping us organize during the wedding was superb! He made sure the bridal party was always on time and everything was set up and things were going smooth. Without him I can't imagine being a multiple place at a time trying to carry out last minute details for the bride. He ALWAYS had an answer for everything. He was also able to solve last minute issues. The food was amazing. They definitely prepare more food than what's on the head count. They come around with seconds if anyone wanted and had no issue assisting guest with take home boxes and bags. Which is needed cause there was so much food during cocktail hour. It was better than almost all buffets out there. I got to try everything and their lamb chop was the best entree. Not to mention those killer mash potatoes!!! So fluffy and creamy. Lovely venue! The only downside is parking. Arrive early because it takes a while to find a spot. From the first day we walked into SandCastle late November 2017 and met with Jamie for our tour we were sold without her saying much. The place speaks for itself. Jamie's presentation was awesome she wasn't pushy like s salesperson she was on point and very nice. From that day my husband and I knew our wedding will be there. We got married Sunday April 15, 2018 and it was one of the best days of our life. Just short 2 days of a month today and we are still getting calls, videos and pics from family and friends who say that was they best wedding they ever attended. My wife and I went here for a wedding on Sunday September 3rd. I had passed by the place many times and had never had the pleasure of experiencing it until now. From Franklin Avenue it doesn't look like much but once you bring your car to be parked by the valet you can see it is actually quite big. Reception area was very nice and their was an open bar just past it. Once it was announced that the wedding was starting soon we made our way back outside to the courtyard. It would have been nice to walk to the courtyard through a garden or a hallway instead of through the parking area. The courtyard was very nice and larger than expected. This made it very special. I was glad for the nice weather and beautiful surroundings. Once the wedding was over it was back inside for the cocktail hour. Very impresdive layout with hot and cold food, hot food service including filet mignon and specially prepared duck tacos- very delicious! Open bar with a special bar that was lowered from the ceiling! The bar featured high powered alcohol drinks that were specially made. I had one drink from this bar and I was feeling great! Next it was on to the recption area. Very beautiful and I especially like the fake trees with lighting- very pretty. There were 18 tables with 10 people at each table. Nice place settings and very good service made all of us feel very special. Traditional first dance was nice and the DJ / MC Mike was excellent. He engaged the crowd and got everyone to dance. Attended a wedding here this past wkend and it was amazing! I usually dont review on wedding venues but this place really stood out for me! There are some odds so lets start w that- The venue is pretty different from most. The entrance is once u walk in and the dinner reception area is right thru the doors.. but u would go upstairs and out or around the front entrance to get to the outside ceremony. There is a whole lot of stairs, the bride came down thru the stairs. Im iffy abt the staircases for wedding venues cos i jus think a wedding dress and heels with stairs aka disaster waiting to happen (lol). Then, after the ceremony u would hafto go up the stairs and into the cocktail area.. then downstairs for reception dinner.. very different from other venus which work their way from down to up. Also, the bathroom is ONLY located upstairs.. was kind of annoying walkin up stairs to goto the bathroom and then down more stairs to return to the reception area. Now the pros- Amazing food during cocktail hr! They had a seafood bar w lobsters, clams, oysters, sushi! Cheeses, breads, pasta, oxtail etc! Cocktail hr was actually pretty long.. it was for 1 1/2 hr! They had a whole bar w bartender drop down show during cocktail hr which was pretty cool! Reception dinner was amaaaazing and u get seconds!!!! Really really enjoyed the lamb entree and the veal entree! Staff were very friendly and alwaysss came around to attend to each guests needs. My water was never empty! They also had a pretty awesome dessert set up. The carts came rolling out on the dance floor and they had everrrrything from cakes, cookies, fruit dipped w chocolate, crepes, zeppoles, cannolis, ice cream, etc. everything was delicious. Attended cousin's Nautical themed-tasting wedding. ESPECIALLY for WEDDING food, items were FRESH, lightly but thoroughly seasoned. The venue is spectacular. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, although there is limited parking on site, otherwise, residential parking is coveted. The actual wedding was outside in the garden area. Lovely but NO sun respite! Sand Castle's an unexpected oasis! Classic and contemporary. Would DEFINITELY have more events here! read more

Sand Castle created the "Circle of Love" theme for our wedding, and it was amazing. Even though it rained, Sand Castle recreated our outdoor garden theme, and brought it inside because of the rain. The Imperial wedding menu comes with seven wonderful entrees. Every food course on the menu was amazing, and the staff was warm, loving, and amazing as well. This was one of the best days of my life. Working with Lola Argyris, Mohamed Kessba, and Dina Vlamakis was an amazing and great experience. The warmest, and professional people you could ever ask for to be in charge over your wedding, at the venue. Sand castle made my dream wedding come true. Service was impeccable. Since my parents are very traditional, my husband and I had a hard time planning for the wedding, but Jamie and Moe were there every step of the way and very accommodating. Jamie provided us a lot of suggestions from all of her past experiences catering to Chinese families and my parents were very satisfied with the end result. My husband & I attended a wedding here on June 23, 2019. We had spoken to Lula, prior to the wedding and she made sure that they would take care of my husband with the Gluten Free. They went above and beyond to accommodate him. They made sure everything was what he ordered and GF. The staff is very nice and caring. We had Nia, she was amazing, friendly, and very helpful. She was always smiling. The food was very good, the place is absolutely gorgeous. The Viennese hour was amazing, there was so much that I couldn't pick what to have. My fiance and I were searching for wedding venues and I remember my friend Aris getting married at the Sand Castle in March of 2011. I remember Aris's wedding was a lot of fun and was very well executed, so we went down there. We met with Loula and she was fantastic. I have never experienced a more detailed breakdown of everything. Every room was described fully, every nuance of the decor was explained, every possible configuration was discussed. I personally thought the rooms were fantastic......except for the cocktail room. There is a large wooden ship in the middle that is used for seafood-related cuisine. While it is cool, we did not plan on having any seafood. In the same room was also a drop-down martini bar, which was cool, but seemed a bit overkill. It was very nice and very clean, but just wasn't in our taste. One option for the ceremony room is actually a glass-enclosed atrium, which we liked very much. There are doors that led to an outside area that was large and open, but still within trees and natural settings. There was a small bridge that would be perfect for pictures. However, this didn't really appeal to us since our wedding would be in February, so outdoors was not for us. If you're planning on having a spring or summer wedding at Sand Castle, it'll probably be beautiful. The reception room is very grand. Built-in lighting schemes that can be changed with the flick of a switch and loads of color combinations, a huge dance floor and uniquely styled tables. It was a very nice room, complete with a hidden swivel-wall for the bride and groom to make a dramatic entrance. Very lovely, but again, did not appeal to us. Just a little too showy. Also, we felt the room was a bit too long. Some guests would have been too far away from where we were sitting. After the tour we went into Loula's office and discussed everything. Menu options, extras, what's included, what isn't, and she broke down every single cost. She made every effort to make sure we were pleased, and quite honestly, we were. There are a few reasons we did not pick Sand Castle. 1) It's a little too big for our estimated party. 2) It's a bit too showy. 3) It seemed more like a theme-restaurant. If you're going for a castle theme, then this venue is perfect for you and the staff is very friendly and very professional. Loula also quoted us a VERY good price and worked with us when we told her our budget. The only reason I didn't give a 5/5 is because the decor was not really for us and we felt the exterior was a bit tacky. However, if you want a castle theme and you like shrimp and sushi for your cocktail hour, then definitely go see Loula at the Sand Castle. You'll be treated like royalty the entire time you're in a castle. read more

Came here for a wedding shoot in April. It was a bit chilly but the place is pretty nice. I'm sure it would probably be better if it was warmer. The parking is a bit of a mess with valet as if there are a lot of cars waiting to go out, it's a pain to get in. Even though I was photographing a wedding, we did manage to get some time to enjoy the cocktail hour and the main course. The food was actually pretty good. The decor was also really nice with some pretty fancy stage works. It reminded me of another catering hall upstate in Poughkeepsie, NY. read more

Awww we really wanted to book Sand Castle but we went with a different venue bc their ceremony space was lacking a bit, and their afternoon schedule is hard to work with. The inside and their offers are crazy (don't worry it's a good crazy)-- bartenders descending from the ceiling, abundance of food, and sound system and smoke machine already provided. It tries hard to impress, but I found the fake castle theme a bit gaudy. Prices here are extremely reasonable and they are willing to work with you. A very close second! read more

I just had my wedding here last night and i am beyond impressed with how incredibly smooth everything went. 10 minutes in, people were already telling my family that this was the best wedding they've ever been to. Beautiful wedding venue! Came here as a guest for a greek wedding reception. Great food and service, the highlight being the Viennese dessert buffet at the end. Usually places like this have a stellar cocktail hour but then average dinner entrees. This place had even MORE delicious dinner entrees and they even come around to your tables again with platters of "seconds." I've been to several wedding at Sand Castle-- the experiences range between a 3 and 4 star. If you are coming for an outdoor summer reception-- 1) it gets hot 2) sound doesn't travel well 3) seating is awkward if you have more than 150 guests. God forbid it rain-- cuz then you'll have a lot of ppl huddled around trying not to get wet. Cocktail hour-- the layout is good. The food is good but not great... or maybe I'm bitter because they serve horrendous sushi. The food stations are spread out to prevent bottlenecks from forming. The pop up bartender is a little gimmicky though. Reception-- Food? it doesn't matter because you'll be too full by this time. Just hit the two bars in the back and save room for dessert. The grand finale dessert train is some of the most fun you'll ever have. read more

I've been here twice thus far for two wedding and each experience has been pleasant. The cocktail hour is delicious, and if held upstairs, they offer an indoor/outdoor seating arrangement, which was beautiful for the past wedding I went to this weekend. Being outdoors on a roof top enjoying cocktail hour was a nice way to enjoy an already great day. The premises itself is clean and modern; the staff is accommodating and professional. We attended a wedding at the Sand Castle last night and it was absolutely beautiful! We arrived a little early so were were ushered into a hospitality area to have a seat and drinks. When the time came were were shown to the cocktail hour area. Wow! What a great, delicious, and huge cocktail hour. There was everything from fresh seafood, sushi, hot dishes, and even martini bar that descended from the ceiling. That was pretty cool. I'd never seen anything like that before. Dinner was equally great with many choices from veal, chicken, filet mignon, shrimp, and a vegetarian option. But the Viennese hour stole the show. Sooooo many endless desserts. I attended the wedding of Katie and Dennis yesterday. From the moment we drove up to the valet area, the service was excellent. I needed assistance carrying in flower arrangements, help was out immediately. The food at the cocktail hour was delicious, endless and filled with variety. Two things impressed me most, there was enough seating for everyone and the service was wonderful including one gentleman getting me a specific type of wine that wasn't at the ready. The main ceremony space was absolutely beautiful and the way they introduced the bride and groom was assume . The dinner menu consisted of about 10 entrees. I was so stuffed from the cocktail hour, the delicious salad and pasta that preceded the the dinner that I shying asked if my dinner could be pack. I went to wedding here back in sept 2017 and walked in with the typical expectations for a wedding but once I entered the building I was absolutely blown away! The wedding I attended was in the morning and me and my date were the first to arrive! Upon arriving we were promptly directed to the hospitality area where food was being placed around and the bar opened up shortly after because the ceremony was running a little later than expected. Shortly after we were informed that the ceremony was beginning to start and we we escorted to a BEAUTIFUL garden area in the back. I was beyond happy for my friends getting married because the day was gorgeous! Ceremony over, cocktail hour followed immediately and i was BLOWN AWAY with what they had to offer. My son and fiancé had already booked the place, and I was concerned for the future wedding. Yes the food was out of your world, yes the team is accommodating, yes the decor is absolutely magnificent. But that's not the best part. Lukas, he is stunning in his coordination, energy, and ability to drive the entire affair. Always a smile on his face, always ready to bring the best service. Ricky, the personal attendant for the grooms party went above and beyond his job description to help corral the elderly, tame the mothers, and work with "fun" guests. Joanna, for taking care of the me, for putting up with us, but most importantly, for making me feel as if I was the first and only bride that she has ever worked with.
