I got there early on a week day & was pleasantly surprised to see a few other folks there. It was just what I was hoping for.Everyone on the range was there for a similar reason & I felt comfortable around them, everyone was friendly & sane! The range master was equally serious, professional & courteous. He ran the range with a keen eye & with authority but gave us all the time & space to get targets set up,equipment organized & be at the ready for range commands. There was ample time with both hot & cold firing times & we all respected eachother & the RM. The range fee was very fair & for a whole day & I got everything I wanted to achieve that day with no rushing or pressure. I'm grateful for the professionals at Flatwoods Outfitters for a really fun day out, doing the things I love doing but rarely have time or a whole lot of $$ to do. Thank you.

It was the most relaxing atmosphere to shoot, no pressure, no one was being judgmental or pretentious. I just moved to NC, and am so happy to have this range near my house. A group of us decided to take an archery class. Boy have bows changed since I was a kid. I found…read morethe class to be very interesting. At first, after some instruction, I thought, no way, I can't do this. But with some encouragement I tried and didn't do so badly. The young lady Sam was very helpful and you can tell she knows her Archery. She was pleasant and really wanted us to feel comfortable and happy with our shots even if we did them poorly. The only negative thing I have is that she speaks so softly. So, either she has to have a louder voice, esp. with seniors or the shop has to turn down the music so we can hear her. Remember, some seniors can't hear. LOL The shop itself needs to put a fan in the shooting area or turn up the AC because it gets hot back there. It would be nice if water was available or whoever sets up the reservation is told to bring water. I am glad there were only five us. Anymore and it would have been uncomfortable. In total we were there about an hour and a half. Not bad for $20..We all agreed it was a good amount of time for first timers. Oh, the other thing to make sure the caller is told, and I don't know if this was done, but when we went in, our friend had open toe shoes on and that is a no, no. You must wear closed shoes.

Our friends wanted me to try and I'll try almost anything once, so we went. The reasons we chose this course were that it was one of the closest to where we were staying on Topsail, they had the tee time we wanted, and tbh...it was the least expensive. We had a good time. The course was well maintained even though it wasn't the nicest course I had ever seen. It was a great and affordable course for a beginner!

I had a concealed carry class instructed by Chris Robinson from Patriot TAC. He's pre-eminently…read morequalified, experienced, and professional, with a history ranging from the United States Marine Corps NCIS to other federal law enforcement work to a degree in criminal justice. He travels all over the country giving these classes and is familiar with the laws in all 50 states, and can speak from a great depth of both knowledge and experience about firearms themselves and all laws pertaining to their use, especially in self defense or defense of another. I myself served 15 years in the Marine Corps before being medically retired, and when I signed up for a state-mandated class on firearm safety and self defense laws, I went in expecting there wouldn't be very much they were going to tell me that I didn't already know. Boy was I wrong. Chris is passionate about the 2nd amendment and our right to bear arms, but he is equally passionate about safety, responsibility, and what the law does and doesn't permit. He went above and beyond, spending more the twice the state-required minimum time covering the laws that we need to know, and boy am I glad he did. I was stunned to learn that some scenarios I had previously believed to be cut and dried open-shut cases of self defense *are not.* Despite the extra time spent, and despite all my years of experience in weapons handling and safety, there was *nothing* discussed in that class that I felt I didn't need to go over, and on the contrary a great deal that I'm very glad to have become informed about. I cannot say enough good things about Chris. The man knows firearms and firearm laws forward and backward, and the decades of experience, training, and education he has are readily apparent when he tells you what you need to know. If you're getting a concealed carry permit, this is the man you want to prepare you for it.

$19 gets you 9 holes with a bonus! 14 years and under are free! Excellent course to have your…read morechildren take up a fun past time. Pros: $19 comes with the golf cart and on board ball and club cleaner. Standard gas cart with sand and drink holders. Course is PGA style challenges. They could use some more grooming around the water hazards and greens. (Some greens with bar patches on the back 9 could use some new sod). This course has a driving range angles toward hole 18 (so aim right). $6 for a large bag of balls 120-160 count. Not bad and ball quality is good. Cons: The fairways, hazards and greens could use a greens keeper. Sand buckets would be nice with fertilizer to help this. Dress code signage out front is enforced (not strict but clearly stated) Missing the go cart kids to deliver drinks to players Homes are against the course so new players should check down before attempting the go ahead shots. Over all for the price and quality I will award the 5 star for the polite staff and well managed course. The play condition was of good order as the above is honestly picky when comparing to memorial tournament, US open etc. golf course of choice for me.

NEVER GOING BACK! Find a better course!!!! I've lived all…read moreover the country and this golf course is the worst I've ever played at. They have "rangers" (cocky men who never got enough attention front their moms and couldn't make the police force) who stop and yell at you for being 1-3 minutes behind schedule? We were on time and on schedule until hole seven. At whole seven there's a sign that tells you to call a number to order your food ahead so it'll be ready for pick up when you get there so you're not behind pace of play and back up the course. And WE DID EXACTLY THAT. But lo and behold NO ONE ANSWERED THE TWO NUMBERS LISTED TO CALL (3 of us tried calling several times) AND THE QR CODE DIDNT WORK ON THE WEBSITE. We Tried from whole seven until we finished hole nine. By that time, we just drove up to the clubhouse and bought our food. We had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for our food. AGAIN WE TRIED EVERYTHING WE COULD, AND AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS. But those instructions did not work. After we finished our lunch and headed back to the course, we were be bullied and spoken down to by several "rangers". They told us they were gonna kick us off the course and not let us continue to play because we were so behind. The kicker is they kept telling us we were 20 to 30 minutes behind. Which is the time we waited for our food... The food that we tried to order earlier. They told us we were just had to pick up all our balls and move on. Because we were slowing everyone down. BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE THREESOME BEHIND US THAT WASN'T EVEN KEEPING UP WITH OUR FOURSOME. So most of the time they were two holes behind us. And no one in front of us. It was so hot everyone left the course. We were rated yelled at and spoken down to several times and I REFUSE TO EVER RETURN. ILL NEVER AGAIN SPEND MY MONEY ON A COURSE WHO HIRES WANNABE COPS WITH A MOM COMPLEX TO BULLY ITS PLAYERS.
