I've been to this urgent care quite a few times and have always received good service, but my most…read morerecent visit was an entirely different experience.
I came in feeling absolutely terrible, with a fever, severe chills, body aches, and weakness. After checking in, I was taken back almost immediately and seated in an examination room, where I waited over 20 minutes before a nurse came in to check my vitals. Okay, whatever, no big deal.
After that, I waited another 20 minutes before the doctor came in, examined me, and left. Another 30 minutes passed before anyone returned to perform two swab tests.
I then waited another 30 minutes for my results, which came back negative for both tests and they didn't test for anything else, I was then told someone would come get me when I was ready to leave.
After waiting another 20 minutes with no updates, I finally got impatient and walked out of the examination room myself, only to find the staff sitting at their desks. When I asked what was going on, I was actually told that they had forgotten I was still back there!
I had been there for two whole hours, feeling worse than I had felt in a very long time, and had to leave my examination room just to remind the staff that I was still waiting.
To make matters worse, I was sent home without a clear diagnosis or a proper explanation of why I was prescribed the medications I received, other than being told, "You've had it before, so it'll work."
I understand that urgent care facilities can get busy and that patients sometimes have to wait. However, being left alone for extended periods without updates and then being told that the staff had forgotten about me is completely unacceptable. Not to mention, there was only one other patient in the building, who arrived after me and left before I did.
I've had good experiences here in the past, which makes this visit even more disappointing. I came in because I was genuinely sick and needed medical attention, not to spend two hours waiting in a room only to be forgotten about and still have to pay for the service.
I don't expect to be seen immediately, and I understand that medical staff have other responsibilities. However, I do expect to be treated with basic consideration, kept informed about my care, and not completely forgotten in an examination room. Completely unacceptable!
Is this really how you treat patients who come to you for help when they're sick?
