Our Zoom appointment was excellent today. Dr Rosado answered all of our questions and gave me insight into how to deal with my RA and IBS.

It's stupid that yelp will only let you read negative reviews (in app)…read more As to my experience.. love advent health and the staff.. they are attentive to my needs .. the website is awful it just sits their spinning that little circle and never finally loads. I had an issue because united booted me out of the commons before my inpatient rehab was completed.. but I made home and the issue came about .. that I needed a dr referral for outpatient rehab .. I was immobile so I had to do a tele doc visit .. but that was with an rnn eventually everything worked out .

I was at this hospital in late September for a scheduled operation. I had a nice room with a window…read moreand a bathroom. Staff were professional and kind. On Monday evening, I arrived to ER at my PCP's urgent urging. They quickly processed me through, gave me my bloodwork and imaging. The waiting room was packed. One man spent hours crying out with abdominal pain. Another crazy had a few outbursts requiring security. I lost track of time watching elderly patients going unattended. I saw no less than three patients leave in desperation. Somewhere between 8 and 10 hours later, with no contact by medical staff to let me know what was going on, I was finally given a room in the ER. I can't be certain about the times, but I got settled around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and spent the rest of the night listening to a blind elderly woman screaming from her gurney in the hallway outside my room. I may have slept an hour before a staff member burst in and turned on the overhead lights to take my blood pressure again. In the morning following doctors visits they told me they'd found a room. I was rolled down the hall to what I call a tent room. The hall was a loud pass through with loud traffic and desks and noisy machinery rolling by. At my own home I had been sleeping on and off during the day. This new accommodation would keep me awake all day and into the night until I was too tired and slept until the nurses' station staff were laughing and telling stories throughout the night. While the doctors and nurses and professional staff were attentive and knowledgable, if you're looking for a hygienic, quiet repose, don't come here! (PS I am getting better though)

I am so grateful for the Halifax Health ER team.....Dr Springer and his ortho team. In June I fell…read moreand got a bad break to my wrist. It was a couple of breaks with bone misalignment. Everything seemed to be pointing me to a surgical repair. It didn't look like it would go any other way. Thanks to the dedication, care, and genuine concern for my care....they were able to reset (reduction) my wrist to where it was a 50/50 chance of surgery. When my Ortho saw me later he said it was such a wonderful job that he felt I would heal on my own. Here I am 8 weeks out and I'm so grateful to have avoided the additional pain and big expenses of surgery. I can not thank this team enough. Had they not given their best I would have gone thru so much more....and I didn't have to! Thank you Dr. Springer and your team of professionals. I will always be grateful and one last thing....they even managed to get my wedding ring off my extremely swollen finger without cutting it. That was a major feat in itself!! Thank you guys and gals ..... you truly are the best!!!! I will always be grateful.

I'm writing this based on a widely shared social-media account involving Theodore Haskin, DO at…read moreHalifax Health in Daytona Beach, and what was shown was deeply troubling. A young Black woman in her mid-20s reportedly presented to the ER in a sickle cell pain crisis and was met with what appeared to be condescension, patronizing language, and dismissal of her pain. Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that disproportionately affects African American patients and is well known in medicine for causing severe, excruciating pain crises due to blocked blood flow. These crises are considered medical emergencies and are commonly treated with timely opioid pain management when clinically indicated. In the video, the physician was seen talking down to her, due to her need for appropriate pain relief medication while citing vague statements like "studies show it's dangerous," despite the patient being in an emergency setting and clearly in distress. To many viewers like myself, this interaction reflected a lack of empathy, outdated or misapplied reasoning, and troubling bias, particularly toward a young Black woman advocating for herself. Regardless of intent, the encounter raised serious concerns about how pain, race, and chronic illness are handled in emergency medicine. Patients with sickle cell disease already face significant stigma and disbelief in healthcare settings, and situations like this only reinforce that fear. I hope Halifax Health takes these concerns seriously and prioritizes compassionate, evidence-based care for all patients.
