I hired Unique in August of 2014 to fabricate and install iron railings on my new granite porch,…read moregranite steps, and along my granite topped perimeter wall. They didn't start until MID NOVEMBER. A few days in, they realized it was WINTER and you can't paint outdoors in winter conditions. The paint wasn't taking and it was looking like a very unprofessional job. SHADES OF THINGS TO COME!!! They came back in the Spring to find rust everywhere. They had to start scraping off the rust. Then they put some lazy guy to paint my railings and he didn't know the first thing about painting. I called the boss and had him pull the guy off the job. But before he left, the guy "accidentally" spilled a whole bucket of muriatic acid on my new granite bottom step and brick pavers permanently staining them. I informed the owner's daughter and she promised to replace the pavers and clean up the granite step. AHA HA HA!!! What a laugh!!! What a lie!!! She never took responsibility for the damage her worker did to my property. From there on, they would come one day, not show up for a week, come back for two days, disappear for a week. I was made to feel my job was of no importance to them. Needless to say, all Spring and summer of 2015 passed and Unique never finished the job. Here we are, a whole year later, September of 2016, and not a soul has shown up to finish the job. My wife and I have called and spoken to them 100 times, but all they do is make excuses, fake promises, and give us the runaround. My granite is ruined with pools of rust around every iron post. My granite step is yellow from the acid. My brick pavers are ruined with stains. And here's the kicker, in my "Contract" I am promised "two years rust maintenance." What a joke! This is the most unprofessional, inept, unreliable, lying "business", if that's what you want to call them. DO NOT HIRE UNIQUE IRON WORKS!!! You will have headaches and regret hiring them. You will get an extremely poor quality product. And you will get the runaround from both the owner and his daughter.
