The food was well prepared and flavorsome in the classic Italian way. Nice wines too. Will definitely go back to try the pizza next time. The all-Italian staff are efficient and charming and nothing is too much trouble.

Sweetness INSANITY…read more Haberfield has taken over from Leichhardt as the Italian centre of Sydney. The restaurants here clearly tell that story. But this bakery tells it as well. If you arrive and don't find a queue out the door and down the sidewalk, you've done well. Those people aren't waiting for a table inside for a coffee and cake; they're waiting to get takeaway sweets. When the line moves and you finally make it in the door you'll see it: the glass display cases, 6 or 7 metres long I'm sure, filled with such beautiful and sweet-looking baked confections that you'll find it impossible to make up your mind. So let me make you mind up for you: get the cannoli. Any of them are good, but the ricotta cannoli are so good you would climb over the bodies of the innocent for them. You would sell your child's kidney. You would attend Latin mass for the rest of your life if that was the only way to get them. Dear sweet mother of all that's holy, they're good.

I have been a regular here for a long time and haven't visited for a while and decided my fill of their cakes. Decided to eat in as well as get some to take away too as you can never have enough of their delicious goodies. Pay and order at the counter and they will serve you your cakes on plates and bring out any hot beverages you have ordered after giving you a number. They accept credit cards with a minimum of $20 spend and a 2% surcharge. To eat in we had a Mocha and a Latte to drink. Coffees were nice and hit the spot. For our sweet treats we had Zuccherati (custard filled doughnuts) which were plump and fluffy filled with their delicious custard, Hazelnut Puff which had a nice choux pastry filled with the same yummy custard and topped with chocolate and hazelnuts and the star Cannoli Siciliani (Custard) which has a wonderful crispy outer shell and that great custard they use in many of their desserts. In their pink cake box to takeaway we have another Cannoli Siciliani (Custard), Cannoli Siciliani (Chocolate), Tiramisu Cup (With Coffee Liquor), Crema Puff (custard puff), and Strawberry Tart. Again all the treats are wonderfully indulgent and delicious. I am sure to keep coming back again...and again!

I could not resist the sausage roll, and it was spectacular! She had the quiche, which was also excellent. The quintessential inner west weekend brunch spot. Pig and the Pastry has been a recent discovery…read morefor me and I keep coming back for more. It's a fairly decent sized space with some seating outside, being right next to a public park is good and bad for parking. The service is always friendly and accommodating depending on your group size, probably best to call ahead of time for large groups as its big enough to be a cafe but not large enough to be classified a restaurant in Sydney. All the produce used in the food is fresh and most likely of organic origins (which I'm guessing on the decor and vibe). Simple and clear menu has some classics like a Chicken Schnitzel but done with a humble salad and chipotle that transports your tastebuds. Breakfast has some healthy-ish options but these are taken in consideration with the core component of the meal. Take the Bacon and Egg Roll, it's served as a burger and the barbecue sauce commands the dish. Cakes and pastry is sold as eat-in and take away items (which change every so often), coffee and milkshakes as well. The gingerbread is a favourite of mine - super refreshing for the sinus. At the end of the day, this is a humble little place that 's rustic feel and pastel interiors make it feel homely and the food cements this feeling. A place to return for sure.

Stumbled on their website by accident and was hooked by their special 1st anniversary degustation…read morenight of their six best selling dishes. Menu looked fantastic and I can't stop thinking about it, so I made a reservation. Since my favourite French restaurant closed last year, I've been on the lookout for a new favourite, this could be it. A glass of sparkling on arrival and a friendly smile, enough to make a great first impression before our amuse bouche arrived, Escargot with Garlic & Parsley Butter. Definitely a great start! We didn't have to wait long before the first course arrived, Sydney Rock Oysters with Sauce Mignonette. Vinegar with mince eschallots made great accompaniment to the freshly shucked oysters. Black Truffle & Mushroom Veloute with Crumbed Quail Egg is creamy and earthy with perfectly cooked crumbed quail egg added necessary texture to the dish. Pan Fried Pancetta Rolled Scallop with Foie Gras, Fennel Remoulade, Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette was excellent. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sublime. Everything on the plate complemented each other and the foie gras added complexity to the dish. Kimchi, Tofu, Ham Hock Terrine with Apple, Ssamjang Chutney, Sesame Leaf & Nashi Pear Walnut Salad was fresh and a great follow up after a heavy meal, a palate cleanser before our next heavy meal. But the highlight and my husband's favourite dish of the night was Grilled Eye Fillet of Beef with Basil Pistou & Jus. Perfectly seared sous vide beef so tender it felt like butter when you cut through it. It left an impression on my husband so big he seriously contemplating on buying a sous vide machine to try and recreate it. Just when we thought they can't go any better than this, desserts came. I had the Passionfruit and Plum Creme Brulée with its perfectly cracked caramelised sugar topping added extra crunch. I can't really taste the plum though, but found generous amount of Passionfruit inside the Brulée. My husband chose the Apple Tarte Tatin, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream & Salted Crumbed and I can tell you he kept telling how happy he was that he chose it for his dessert. The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the Tarte Tatin as he scraped clean his plate within minutes of consuming it. Great timing on the delivery for each course. The matching wines I had with my meals were greatly matched. All that combined with intimate ambience and friendly staff definitely completed a pleasant dining experience.

Everyone else had no complaints with there dishes WE didn't try any desserts The Set menu is $60 for 3 courses, the zomato menu is outdated. Worth trying!
