We saw amazing marine life, including nudibranchs, lobsters, nurse sharks, and angel sharks. Coming from Monterey, the absolute highlight for me was seeing the massive, chill giant black sea bass, Wreckfish! They are 7 feet and 600 lb so big!!! Brian went above and beyond by taking me back out a second time when my initial photos didn't turn out well, I was a bit scared and too far. This was my first time snorkeling without any safety net. Our guide (Rich) was very helpful and patient. He helped me get acclimated and helped me with my gear as well. He turned around and checked on us every few minutes. He gave clear directions and asked us if we are comfortable prior to entering a cave/moving forward. I felt very safe and comfortable. My bf and I live in LA and wanted to do something special for his bday - Chris + Frank really went out of their way to help us make this a reality. Chris helped us set up private lessons so the two of us could do our Open Water Diver certification course. He was very helpful in ensuring we were able to dive on the dates that were important to us- He and Frank even mailed us our books! They were super sweet and we really appreciated the assist! Chris also explained the ins and outs of the course- and the time required to accomplish this. Instructor + Course We met with Frank do our first diving lesson. He went over the learning material (book + video). Frank really put us at ease and taught at a pace that worked with us- he was very patient and helpful. Doing these lessons with him was very empowering! He made sure we were always safe and that we were prepared for a good time! I'd highly recommend Frank as an instructor- he had a very good nature and always ensures you are prepared + safe! Diving with him was amazing! I had a great time in both classes and feel like I've learned a lot. I feel comfortable enough with my skills and knowledge after these classes to go out and explore the world safely (with a buddy, of course!). From the beginning to the end, I always felt like I was learning and having fun. We started in a pool to get used to the equipment, which I rented from Bill. Moved on to book review And then into the ocean. Most of my ocean classes were at La Jolla shores, which is a beautiful place! Except in the advanced class, we explored a ship wreck more than 100ft deep off of Dana Landing (near sea world). I am excited to take more classes and have already recommended Bill to my friends. The classes aren't free, obviously, but I feel with the amount of 1on1 time and the amount of knowledge bill has given me is more than worth it. I am also now part of the Power Scuba community which has hundreds of like minded people that I can scuba with, in tons of the events Power Scuba hosts. Which gets me excited for my future dives!
