I recently had a full knee replacement with Dr. Klenck and he made sure that all precautions were taken to ensure a successful experience. He really cares about his patients. The Surgery Scheduler, Jennifer, also does an outstanding job of scheduling procedures and making sure that all of the necessary pre op referrals are completed in a timely manner. Highly recommended!

If you care about your health and well being, do not come to a place that practices mill medicine,…read morecontrary to the standard of care. Multiple rushed and poor experiences here with several physicians. Most of your face time here is with physician assistants. When a doctor experiences significant tactile resistance during an injection and openly admits a lesion isn't behaving like a typical cyst, shifting to a passive "wait-and-see" approach without looking at your historical imaging is simply a contradiction in clinical logic. Calling that out isn't about being confrontational; it is about recognizing that your intuition was right, your questions are valid. Dr. Billings operates a medical mill. I came to see Dr Billings (incidentally CEO of Pasadena Orthopedics) for a thumb lesion xrayed 5 years ago and never biopsied. She injected my thumb without so much as objectively establishing if the lesion was solid or cystic. She told me with utmost confidence that I have a cyst. She suddenly revised her diagnosis while in the midst of obviously struggling to inject the lesion with steroids. She wanted to move fast because volume means Benjamins $. I walked in with little to no pain, and walked out unable to fully flex or extend my thumb without pain. The office then gave me the run around for a simple imaging request after the pain progressively worsened and insinuated that the response to my injection in 6 weeks is "diagnostic." No rationale was offered. Billings tried to pivot with, "let's see if we get a treatment response." Truth is, she realized unnecessary needle trauma would have to be healed from forcefully trying to inject steroids (liquid) in something with the density of an eraser (before imaging could become meaningful). I offered to show them prior imaging, but they were too busy churning out patients. I came here for diagnostic clarity, not to sit around for 2 hours and be provided substandard care. The audacity of trying to pass it off as, "let's wait to see if the treatment responds" (damn well knowing it's not behaving like a cyst and forcing fluid in a solid mass in a patient's thumb). Come on now.

I was experiencing some foot problems in September of last year and went to see Dr. Upshaw based on…read morethe perfect reviews that he had and the location of his office! Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the wait was not long at all. If only all medical practitioners would follow suit to know that their patent's time is quite valuable. I am also glad that his lobby area is not filled with patient's and family members like they are at other doctor's offices. After going through the prelim questions with the nurse (i.e. why you are there, have you experienced any pain, etc.) I am promptly seen by Dr. Upshaw. Dr. Upshaw's vast medical experience and interesting/funny stories serve to put me at ease and give my foot needs to him. If you are looking for a good podiatrist, I would recommend Advanced Foot Care Center!

Anyway, the good doctor was able to remove the glass without any local anesthesia, and the pain stopped! I was in the examination room with her, and asked other questions related to podiatry and the fitness of shoes. He explained the purpose of shoes and had a nice skeletal model of the foot and how it is supposed to flex. While being flatfooted, it seems the foot has to work extra-hard and that is the reason for early pain while walking. He is a patient Doctor with a nice small practice which we both feel comfortable in. He is close to home and on Fairoaks, close to Old Town, allowing another reason to stop for breakfast or lunch, as he has mornings for patients. I would recommend this Doctor for any minor foot operations, and as always get a second opinion.

She and her team took great care of me every time I went in. Thanks to her, I have normal looking toes again! Soo happy to finally wear sandals again and not be embarrassed to go to the nail shop. Once again thank youuuuuuu Dr. Griffin - you are truly awesome!!

My insurance company, UCLA Medicare Advantage Prestige Program identified Dr. Michael Avakian as…read morethe appropriate podiatrist to treat my feet (multiple broken toes) because I have bone cancer. He has stellar reviews. And I immediately understood why: he came himself to let me in the side gate next to the handicapped spot. He was surprised to see me with only one shoe. I explained that the pain was so severe that I could not get a shoe on my left foot and was wearing a Bomba sock instead. But from the moment I encountered the staff my " appointment " for which I had waited THREE WEEKS was a travesty. They had no record of my appointment (which had been made directly by my insurance company) nor could they find the materials I had texted to the office at their instruction 3 weeks earlier. It turns out, after a very unpleasant exchange that I had " texted " to their email address. They did, in fact, have it. Calls were made to the Medical group at UCLA (not the people who could help me) and finally I myself called the line reserved for Prestige plan patients (we pay a modest fee to the medical group to have help navigating the complex health system). Without reviewing my extensive records the representative (Brittany) could not help me immediately. I asked for a supervisor (Patricia) who for obvious reasons was apologetic but also unable to help. Since the staff had treated me like a criminal in the office--no appointment, no insurance, no right to be there (could it have been that they assumed only a homeless person would walk around with one shoe and one sock) I decided to leave and call my insurance company from home. Dr. Avakian, who had heard the entire saga from his office, followed me out to the street to apologize. He seems like a kind and competent man. But his staff is rude and careless. At home I was able to reach my regular navigator, Andrea, but my appointment in Westwood is not until January 2! By then my ties will either have healed or dropped off. This is the fault of modern healthcare not Dr. Avakian. His staff is a serious obstacle to getting appropriate treatment, but I am confident that if you can tolerate their rudeness your reward will be a capable and thoughtful podiatrist.

She and her assistant, Ricky, were friendly, attentive, and gave me an all-around great experience (even if the diagnosis was not what I'd hoped!). Frustrated, my wife found another podiatrist, Dr. Mark Kidon on Blue Shield's website (he had numerous stellar reviews), who, within seconds of my wife removing her shoes, pegged the problem as bunions. After successful surgery on both feet, all is well, and we will both be going to Dr. Kidon from now on for any foot issues. If a foot doctor can't diagnosis bunions, what's left to be said? Fast forward to this week and a bill comes in the mail from Claire Futenma's office for that visit 14 months ago when she was unable to diagnose what Mark Kidon was able to instantly. It's shameful to charge for a complete waste of my wife's time, but it's outrageous that it took so long for the bill to arrive. My wife called Dr. Futenma's office to protest the charge and the poor billing practice, but only received excuses about the billing staff. She was told there was nothing the office could do, so she was responsible for the payment since it had been sent to insurance - which is a moot point. And really? The bill came from Claire Futenma's office and there's nothing that Claire Futenma's office can do about it? Talk about adding insult to injury. Dr. Futenma, you should be ashamed.

That all said I have been seeing Dr. Ferrante since April of this year for diabetic neuropathy in both my feet thats uncontrolled and his office, office staff and Dr. Ferrante himself they are very welcoming, understanding people. His girls who answer the phone one of whom I think her name is Vanessa she's super awesome and when she promises to call me back she does. Dr. Ferrante himself he is a professional soft spoken man who listens to all your concerns before making any recommendations. Ever since I was diagnosed with the diabetes many years ago I have heard from various Doctors to go see a podiatrist and I have been scared to do so, but Dr Ferrante has put all those concerns to rest and I no longer fear seeing someone like him.

The staff (Mary) is incompetent and combative. The Dr. overbooks.
