The place has been new and improved. Still the same delicious food as always, but the portions are now a little bit bigger. The waitress was so busy, but she made sure she greeted us and took our drink order. It's decorated in a typical Japanese restaurant, but it's very cute. read more

Me and 3 of my friends went to samurai's. We walk in the door and this fat waitress says if you have a party of 4 or more you can go ahead and leave. So I said ok and started walking out the door, she said she was just joking and said "someone pick him up and throw him" then she turned around and started looking for a table for us and we walked out. I hadn't said anything or done anything read more

Samurai's Steak House is a great spot to take the family. The menu has a lot of options for hibachi and sushi. The special rolls are pretty good. I tried the titan roll and fire crunch roll (I may have the wrong name on that one (sorry)). Both were good! Check out Samurai's steak house if you're in the Athens area. read more

This Japanese steak house is different than what we're use to. It's like a fast food Japanese steakhouse. I guess because it was close to a college. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. read more

I Walked into the restaurant, a small space but very good. The Host was nice, and the service was good, especially Sarah. Order the Hibachi Chk, The soup and salad tasted fantastic, the rice was not too dry and not too watery. Overall I recommend you to come to Samurai Steakhouse 702, Hwy 72 W read more

Samurais Steak House - Out of control roll and fire crunch roll. - Japanese Near Me - Athens, Alabama

Low quality food at high prices. Eating there is the equivalent of buying a Ford for the price of a Lexus.

Food was ok, service was good, sushi was ok. Not my favorite but not too bad overall.

Sushi is the best! I don't love their hibachi, but if you're looking for sushi this place is my absolute favorite! read more

I've had a meal during a tornado and it was still an amazing meal. This place will get a sushi fix if you need one and has stir fry that will question if you are in Alabama. read more

Got it door dashed and it was great!! Haven't been in to sit and eat yet tho. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Have been going here for so long. The hibachi is so good and the yum yum sauce is amazing!! Definitely should go for the dinner special with the hibachi read more

Chicken tempura bento box is my favorite for lunch and it comes with so much food for about 7 dollars and I always have left overs. Most of my friends order the chicken teriyaki lunch special and they love it too. I'm not a big Japanese food connoisseur, but I really love this place. read more

This is one of our favorite spots. Love the food. We keep going back. Just wish they'd expand/spiff up the building.

First time here in Athens ALABAMA. We thought it was a hibachi steakhouse but it's not. They have a central grill where they cook and bring to your table. The server was very friendly. Two people had the teriyaki bento box that was pretty good but the chicken was just thin white meat cooked and put on top of sauce. The fried rice was fine and spring roll was a little greasy. Two people has sushi and they said is was good not great. My wife had the tempura box and it was probably the best dish. The next time I come, if I come, I will have the tempura. The food came out pretty fast. Soup was pretty good as well as the ginger salad. If the chicken bento box was better I would have given 4 stars. read more

Dining options in Huntsville are a little lackluster at best, so when my grandparents suggested Japanese in nearby Athens, I was wary. However, Samurai's is certainly A-OK. While the atmosphere in a renovated Long John Silvers leaves something to be desired, the food is relatively fresh, the portions plentiful, the prices reasonable, and the service pleasant. We started with several orders of spring rolls (okay) and a order of calamari (very good). The hibachi entrees were a popular pick, and the protein portions in them were generous - an order of shrimp were the large variety with maybe 15 pieces or more. The fried rice was fragrant, salty, and stuffed with veggies, pretty much all you can ask for. A chicken tempura bento box was perhaps the best food value of the night, coming with salad, soup, a California roll, a spring roll, and generous portions of tempura fried chicken tenders and assorted veggies for around $12. My sushi was about as good as you'd expect sushi to be in the middle of Alabama -solid grocery store level sushi. Enough to satisfy a sushi craving, but I wouldn't recommend venturing much further than your basic tuna or salmon rolls as far as raw fish goes. There aren't many places in this area of Alabama that I'd gladly return to for dinner, but I'll happily add Samurai to the list. read more

I was so excited to find a hibachi steakhouse with good reviews, but this place left a lot to be desired. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi. The salad that came with it is supposed to be ginger salad but the dressing was so heavy on the mayo that you barely tasted any ginger. So it was like salad with mayo on top. The steak was very tough and hard to eat. The shrimp was cooked well though. The fried rice had no flavor and no veggies in it. It was literally just rice and some watered-down soy sauce. Lastly, the brown sauce that the hibachi is cooked in, was very thick and there was so much of it. It tasted like a pre-packaged terriyaki sauce because it was very syrupy. Overall I didn't like the meal and probably wouldn't go back. The quality was just so bad. The servers were nice though read more

My love for Samurai Steak House runs deep. I've been dining here for years now, and they never fail to amaze me. The staff is very friendly and eager to please and the food is always prepared fresh and absolutely tasty. I always opt for the 3 roll lunch special for $8.95 and choose two chicken tempura rolls and one shrimp tempura roll. The special comes with the generic salad but I also add the clear soup. By the end of the meal, I'm always pleasantly stuffed. Needless to say, every time I come back into town this is always one of my first stops. read more

Best place to get fresh sushi! Just as good as I love sushi or better. Ambiance could be improved a bit but no complaints about food or service. The filet mignon hibachi is also very tender and tastes great. read more

The tuna sashimi is fresh! Most important...there is fast friendly service as well... they knew we wanted a booth and promptly cleaned one for us after the other patrons left. There's nothing to eat along interstate 65 between birmingham and nashville that isnt a chain. This is right off 65. We had seaweed salad, edamame, hot tea, tuna sashimi roll, and pink dragon roll. All under 30 bucks. Definitely our midway stop between florida and tennessee from now on. To the gentleman rater concerned with the portions... its a japanese restaurant not a Chinese trough. Order the titan roll for a larger portion. It was huge as the waiter passed by with it. P.s. dear yelp, could you please include a 'chain restaurant' filter on your filter options? That would be awesome. Support people owned establishments. Not corporations... i own a small business too. read more

My first time trying this place, dining with in-laws after church. Location is small and quaint, but the food is good. Lunch specials are reasonably priced, $8-$10, but you don't get much in my opinion, but I'm a hearty eater. Good sushi menu if that's your thing. I loved the fried rice, it had a unique flavor that I found addictive. Worth giving a try. IG me @ bigphilthefoodie read more

I am amazed by all the good reviews. Seems its the only place in Athens to get Japanese. You all need to get out more. If you go here be prepared to only order sushi. Vegtables were way over cooked. Chicken smelled like urine and portions were crazy inconsistant. Any dont bother asking any questions from the server. Basic understanding of english. Just point and grunt at the menu and you w8ll be fine. read more

Great Japanese food. The bento box or grill. Great service. I do ask for the terrayaki on the side as it is very heavy.
