Basically Amy's has a fairly big selection of stuff for the home. You can occasionally spot a bargain like 1/2 price bedding or reduced Pyrex dishes. Not bad.

The dusty shop window is full of bits of appliances and doesn't really look like a going concern. Even the owner dresses like Arkwright out of Open All Hours. But despite appearances to the contrary, it is open and if you've got a broken appliance they can mend it (probably!). I always used to get them round to fix my clapped out old Electrolux washing machine, until it finally gave up the ghost and died. The two guys who fix washing machines come as a double act and are quite chatty. The shop will also tackle broken vacuum cleaners, including dysons. You have to take your dyson in on a Saturday morning for assessment. It must be cheaper than buying a new one (and more environmentally friendly to fix it). They also stock vacuum cleaner bags.

This was a present for us from our daughter We were met by a young lady (her name was Sarah) in jeans with both her hands in her pocket. She kept her hands in her pocket all the while getting our watches and giving us a run down on the operation of these watches. She appeared least interested in looking after us. This is the most ill treatment we have received! I did not want to say anything for the fear of her not giving us the information we needed!

I had purchased AppleCare+ at the same time but yet have been given the run around for the last three weeks regarding my repair. They've advised that the part needed for the repair is out of stock, and that aside their repair quote came to £969.83. Surely Apple can offer me a brand-new replacement instead because I am covered by insurance right? Wrong. I'm expected to keep waiting on a repair while they wait for the part which could be months at this point (as well as being expected to pay £229 for the excess). Despite contacting Apple numerous times they have been unwilling to assist me further. What's worse is that Apple continues to sell MacBooks when they know they don't have the parts to repair them. This is extremely unethical. The staff at their Regent Street store dared to suggest I buy and return a MacBook every 14 days (no questions asked policy) until my repair has been completed. How does my Apple insurance help me here? It doesn't. And I am beyond outraged at this point. Just another company willingly taking advantage of their consumers without a care in the world.

I guess, we all have made our mixed experience with telecom companies. Dealing with support lines etc. was for me often a source of frustration and I try to avoid it. As it happened, I replaced my iPad with a brand new iPad Air. Unfortunately, Apple had decided to change the size of the SIM card, so I could not just continue using my existing SIM I bought at the Apple Store about two years ago with a tariff specifically for the iPad. After the online support chat was not too helpful, I walked into the O2 shop on Putney High Street. I should have known better. Once again, the customer service was appalling - they went so far to say that what I was asking for was not possible. And asking the customer to do the registration of the new Nano SIM on their own mobile phone, that does not even support Nano SIMs, is not really a clever move. Because I had similar experiences at the Fulham Broadway and the Putney High Street branches before, I decided to give O2 a last chance and the next Saturday, I walked down to the O2 shop at 134 Oxford Street. In the past, they were always friendly and competent. And once again, the customer service at this particular O2 branch was great. The guy was very friendly and efficient, he knew what he was doing, he was explaining the options and sorted everything out for me. Thanks only to him, I continue to use my O2 SIM with the iPad Air. It is really surprising, that mobile phone companies make it more difficult for customers to stay, than to change...

I was all a fizzle and not knowing how I was going to send one phone off and keep the number live on a different sim but then be able to switch phones back when it was repaired. In a nutshell, he just took both phones off of me, sorted it all. Handed back with all sim swaps and drama dealt with. SUMMARY: Best bit, he didn't charge me, he just sorted it, quickly and with a smile. It's a shame 95% of phone shops can't be like this. It's a little gem and when it comes to upgrading my phone I am going back there to sign up with him. Blinding customer service!!
