I called them for a tuneup of the garage because it was making a lot of noise. The service was competent, prices were fair, value was good, and they found and corrected a major problem with broken torsion bar springs. They replaced it with a standard spring assembly. After hearing one of my garage doors springs snap I knew that I might have to consider a replacement door since my garage door is very old. One company came to and wasn't able to repair it today since they didn't have the parts on their van and would have to reschedule. They were kind enough to get my broken door opened so I could at least get my car out. After considering options I decided to try Samson. When I called I learned a van was in the area and they were at my house within 30 minutes. I spoke with Jim the repairman who assessed the "health" of my existing door and advised me that it was still in good shape and didn't need replaced. He told me that it wasn't insulated being made out of wood but that could wait for now. He gave me an estimate $100.00 cheaper than the competitor who "rescued" my car earlier in the day. Not only that they would replace both sets of springs and cable lines for the same cost using quality materials. It should be noted that if they come out for a repair estimate and you don't agree to the work then they have a $49.00 service fee for the visit alone. That fee is waived if you let them do the work. I was amazed at his knowledge and skill set. I agreed to the repair so he and his coworker went to work immediately afterwards. The door was fixed within an hour. I could also see that the replacement parts were of better quality than the ones I had previously. He also waited for me to test out all my openers to make sure everything ran smoothly and oiled the garage door tracks. I'm so happy to have found this place and will most definitely consider using them to get a new steel door replacement in the coming year. Quality work. Honest opinion as what's best for me helps. Garage tension spring broke and the door was inoperable. Samson was very prompt and had a tech (Mike) dispatched in a timely manner. Mike was extremely knowledgeable and was able to repair the problem. He was very professional and explained everything in detail and was able to answered all questions. This company installed my garage door a little over 3 yrs ago. At that time their response time was excellent. They seemed to have really great customer service. They were prompt and efficient. I called them recently because my garage door will not open with the automatic opener. The woman who answered the phone said she had no one who could service the call and she would call back. That never happened. I left two messages on two different phone numbers No response from Samson, even the next day. I guess they're only interested in installing expensive garage doors even though they're website says they do repairs. I finally found a local company who actually answered their phone and have many yrs in the business. Excellent customer service will bring in and retain customers more than price. Apparently this company has abandoned that business goal somewhere along the line. read more

I called at 10am and the technician was here at 130pm! They came almost right away to fix our garage door opener. He was able to diagnose the issues right away and knew exactly what to do to take care of them. They were quick, nice and have very reasonable rates. I would 100000% call them again!!! Also, don't try to install a garage door opener yourself... You're going to have to call a company when it doesn't work properly... Just call Samson and have them come and install a new one for you. Our garage door cable snapped a couple of days ago and I was calling around but couldn't find a company to come out. Today 3 companies came out and the first 2 where so expensive and told me it couldn't be repaired. Samson Doors was waiting for the 2nd company to leave and then Josh from Samson Doors pulled in right after. Josh went over all the same things the other 2 companies did, but he said that he could fix the door and he had everything on the truck to take care of my garage door. Josh explained everything about the pricing and Samsons price was $500 cheaper than both companies. I never go on Yelp, but Josh from Samson Doors is 5 stars in my book. I hired Samson Garage Doors to replace 2 garage doors. On 08/17, 2 technical people came and installed both garage doors. Before they left, I was told another person would seal the garage door frame with caulking very shortly. But in past 20 days, this person never showed up. I called customer service three times and was told the same thing, another person would come and finish the job shortly. The truth is this person never comes. how can it take 20 days for a very tiny caulking job. the garage doors are good,but the service is terrible. read more

We found out about Samson's through our neighbor. They replaced his garage doors for a decent price and they looked great. We've had the same garage doors since before we moved in... 15 years ago! That's when the garage door envy began. Our garage doors are a large, custom size so we were afraid that we would have to pay a fortune to have them replaced. It was well overdue, so we called Samson's and got a quote. They were able to email us a copy of a quote. If we agreed, we returned it to them signed, if not then we were able to renegotiate what worked for my family. We got 2 brand new doors with an automatic opener, weather stripping, garage door openers for my cars, a keypad on the garage, and keys if all else fails. We got everything we wanted and more for a great price! The doors look wonderful! They also function better than ever before. I no longer have to bend over and lift the old, heavy wooden doors. The doors automatically open with the press of a button. They offer a multitude of colors and designs to choose from. The cables that were supporting my garage door were loose enough that they could come off the pully system, wedging the door in the down position. I called Samson and they had someone there an hour later. He evaluated the problem, as well as talked through a variety of options to fix it and what the tradeoffs might be with each approach. While he was working, he found that one of the cables had frayed more than halfway through (at a point that was very hard to see before he started). He was very apolgetic that he hadn't found it before and explained what the addional cost would be to replace it (as opposed to reinstalling the bad cable) before proceeding. Before he left, he also demonstrated how to properly lubricate the door, so I could do that myself in the future. The door not only no longer gets stuck, but overall moves more smoothly and quietly in its track. Overall, a great experience. read more

I regret having to write this review because initially I liked the company and was satisfied however... Samson Garage Doors have proven a disappointment. Everything was great until we turned the lights off in the garage and realized the new opener only worked with the lights on (they added some switch because they couldn't hard wire - how it was previously). However the switch doesn't work. Upon requesting it be fixed we were told it would cost $150 because my husband okay'ed the man adding the switch (how would my husband know it wouldn't work lol the tech is the professional and it was at his advice). I would assume part of their protocol would be test everything but I guess it's on the customer to flip all the switches and make sure the outlets remain hot without all the lights being on. Anyway... hire at your pleasures but just FYI. We will be getting it fixed otherwise because that's just ridiculous! read more

After returning home from a shopping trip I found the spring on one side of our garage door had broken. That was quite frightening as the safety cable had also snapped! I remembered seeing Samson Garage Door's place of business on my way to the Waterfront so I looked on Yelp and saw all the wonderful reviews. I gave them a call and it just so happened Jim was working a job in the area and was able to stop over to take a look. He recommended changing the other spring as well, the cables and pulley and "greasing" the channels the door runs on- they were very dry. Dan finished up the job and I was one happy camper. The cost was very reasonable, done quickly with no mess for me to clean up, and old parts were taken away. Even with the ancient garage door opener it runs quieter now too!! It's a relief to know if I need garage door help in the future I can count on Samson's- they're the best! read more

They came out quickly and were very nice, but they way overcharge. They wanted $575 to replace a garage door spring that we are getting done by another reputable company for $180. They also asked for a deposit of half that fee during the service call, which would not have let us shop around. I would use them if I were having some sort of emergency that made it worth paying triple the price. read more
