She repeated my order back like 3 times. She said come back in 15 min to pick it up. In 15 I came back and it was hot and ready. I drove about 10 min to my house and got it in the house, opened up the bag and first thing I noticed was there wasn't any sticky stuff at the bottom of the bag. Awesome! Everything was packed well in good quality take out cartons. We all dished up and WOW did it taste good. Ginger beef, beef and greens, spicy shrimp and greens, chicken fried rice, deep fried shrimp and the old standard chicken balls (wish they'd change the name). This place was the best tasting Chinese food I've had since late the late 70's in Winnipeg. If you want some good food in Wetaskiwin hit this place up. The decor isn't much to look at but the food more than makes up for it. Good value, they give you lots and for orders over $45 they give you a 10% discount. O ya... and they're open on Mondays!!

As soon as I walked in the door with my stepdad to pick up our take-out order, it all came rushing back. The mere fact that it's hung around - same location, same owners - for so long is its own testament. It's not a spot I'd be making an extra visit for, but if you're in small town Alberta (aka Millet) and you don't feel like driving all the way to Wetaskiwin or Leduc for the next closest Western Chinese food restaurant, then Ivy's will do you just fine! The menu is full of appys, soups, chicken, beef and shrimp dishes, chow mein/noodles, chop suey, egg foo young and your usual rice dishes. You'll also find a handful of "Western food" like a cheeseburger, fish & chips, steak sandwich, etc. We came home with Wor Wonton soup and two ginger beef combos. They came with rice, ginger beef and beef with mixed vegetables. I'm used to ginger beef being a little more meaty, but again, for the convenience of walking down the street for it, it was a-ok!
