Today I took my mom Christmas shopping at Target in Monroe, LA. There was an electric cart next to…read moreour car and I got my mom in it. The steering column was wobbly and it had one speed (fast). After she ran into my cart and pushed me several feet. We knew it wouldn't work. I had her walk behind my cart till I could find a place to sit her. I went to the car for her wheelchair. I then couldn't push a cart and a wheelchair. She held a Target basket until it was too full. Then I had a Target basket plus her wheelchair. It was slow and exhausting. Two workers walked impatiently behind us at one point. When we checked out, I had to leave her to load my car. As I am contemplating how I can pay this store back for having zero customer service. I look up to find a man pushing my mom to the car. He also helped me load my car. It turned out that he worked there. His name was Ron and he saved Target from me putting the store on blast on every social media platform. People with disabilities exist and good businesses put their needs first even when it's busy in the store. Thanks to Ron for being a good human being

The Dollar Tree is great. I've been able to build my book library back up, after losing so many in the flood, last year. The West Monroe's location has been very lacking in books, lately. That's the main reason I go, other than toothpaste, aluminum foil, and assorted other things that would normally cost me at least twice as much anywhere else. Don't buy thumb tacks from them, though. For some reason, they snap in half if you hang anything from them. Maybe I just bought a bad package. But everything I hung from them, no matter how light, caused them to break within a week. Also, I bought some pillow cases from there once. They fell apart after one wash and the dye in the pillow cases leaked out into the washing machine, turning the clothes I was washing with them a nice red color. They could definitely use some more cashiers, and friendly ones, at that. Every time I go in, there's a line about nine people deep. The woman at the register always looks like she's ready to go postal. And when makes she makes an announcement that she needs another cashier to help check, the disdain in her voice could cut through a diamond. I guess it's a situation of "you get what you pay for". After all, everything IS $1.00 or less. Still, if they wouldn't wait until the line is unreasonably long to call another cashier up front to check, this would have been a five star review.
