When I moved, My Sam's Club changed from the one on highway 64 to Covington Pike. As many of you may know, the older we get, the less we like change. This Sam's Club, though, has been such an upgrade! I have never been to the fuel center and had to wait. The merchandise inside is always tidy and the staff has always been nice and outgoing. I've never had to wait an excessive amount for my pickup unless it is lightning outside - they are not allowed to load our cars then, obviously. read more

This location is a hit or miss in terms of customer service. On May 1, 2026 after waiting in line to get to a register at 3pm for over 40 minutes I finally made it to the register where I waiting again for another 10 minutes while the person in front of me tried several times to get her EBT to work. Rather than suspending the order so she could stay her place in line and resolve her issue they allowed her to hold the line up while making numerous phone calls trying to resolve. At this point I asked if I could go to another register in which the cashier standing doing nothing said yes. I move two lanes over and as soon as I got there young man told me I had to go get in the back of the line (which at this time was all the way to the freezer cases). I explained I was just moving from one register per the cashiers approval and again was told I still need to go get back in line. I again explained I had already been in the long line and was just switching register and he again quite rudely repeated I still had to go back. I then started to go get the gentleman that said I could move when he stated quite loudly that he didn't like my attitude. I stopped in my tracks because until now I was very nice trying to explain my case. I then told him he refused to listen to me and I'd take my "attitude" to the customer service desk. I asked his name and he smiled and said he wasn't going to give it to me. I needed to ask customer service. I then proceeded to customer service to speak to a manager. After waiting for 10 minutes for a manager with another lady who was also waiting to speak to one, the attendant asked what my issue was and I explained. He then escorted me back to the registers and of course the same guy as before only to be told by him that he didn't refuse to check me out and that I had an attitude. At this time I called him an out right liar and to just check me out so I could get out of there. He then began to loudly comment that I had an attitude and he didn't like me, and that's wnen I lost it. I told him he could keep the over $200 in merchandise I had in my basket and I'd go give my business to the Sam's on Hwy 64 where they treated folks Like human beings. He just laughed and said OK. He was one of the rudest people I've every come across and apparently he's gotten away with this behavior before because he was not at all worried that I was going to customer service. Lack of check outs, on floor managers and people who care in this location is phenomenal. I've been in this location many times and most times it's an OK experience, but this one was over the top. I'll be moving my business to Costco now because I've NEVER had any experience with Rude employees. They like their jobs it seems. Avoid this Sam's Club unless you enjoy disrespect. read more

This is the location that I visit most and I love it. All of the staff is helpful, the samples, are always great, and the rotisserie chicken makes the visit worth the while! I appreciate the new feature that they have where you can shop online and pick up the order at a date of your connivence. Every time, they have had every item that I ordered. The space is always clean, the shopping is always to the point and usually the lines are moving at a steady pace (unless it is a busy time of day). Go check them out! read more

I hadn't been to Sam's in years, but my overall shopping experience was good. I didn't have any issues finding the merchandise I was looking for. I even saw extras no I didn't pick them up. Lol The food and vegetables are fresh and well packaged. The staff was very helpful and professional. I didn't have to wait in line long at all. Usually don't have problems but I have had issues with the bakery. We had bought the 9 pack of muffins; the one with chocolate, banana and nut, and blueberry flavored muffins. The chocolate and banana muffins were fine but the blueberry muffins tasted expired. Today I went and bought a 12 pack of hoagie bread, which had two flies in it. Joined up just last year...the wait In the check out line usually shorter if you are paying with card. Still, it's better to go during Off peak hours. One employee there in particular was very friendly and Helpful to me...Guage (or Cauge?) his name was. While busy at another task with a couple of other employees I asked him about a specific detergent product I bought there before. They happened not to have that specific brand..it turned out ..but he had very politely dropped his other task without my asking or expecting him to...to make a brief but concerted effort to check for me...then immediately after that he made a couple of helpful recommendations or product brand suggestions along those lines. I barely write a bad review about any grocery stores, but I need to do so today after very poor customer service experience at Sam's club in Memphis, TN. I got my Plus memebrship (~100 USD) in Sep2022, and ordered foods,houshold items specifically by delivery or shipping. Since Jan2023 I tried ~10 times to order grocery items online, but my orders were cancelled without reciving any emails or notifications or explanations. Just yesterday I contacted the customer service, and after 2hrs inspection they emailed me "After Further review of your membership, activity has revealed a history of unusual behavior. So, we're exercising our right to restrict online returns and purchases with your membership. Additional information regarding membership restrictions is outlined in the Terms and Conditions of Membership on our website". This is indeed nonsense, after inquiring why this decision has been made I recieved another email "I do apologize but this decision was made by a department that is bound by legal policy. It is final and would not be reversed, take care and I do apologize again." Man, this is BS. I would never recommend this store to anyone because of exteremly poor customer service. read more

These jokers charged me $700+ for a new set of tires only to improperly install them. The Wheels were damaged by the tech bashing the wrench into the black paint and scraping the surface of the wheel. Worst of all, all 4 sets of my lug nuts were completely uneven as if a 3rd grader had been handed the torque wrench. These guys should open up a car wash instead because that's all they are qualified to do, but they would probably mess that up too. Truly a comical experience. Not to mention the store resembles a knock off Walmart that only sells decorations and the occasional war ration. Save your money and time and don't take your car to these fools at the Sam's club auto shop. Amateur hour. read more

For all of you who order your glasses from an on-line vendor, rethink your choice and head over to Sam's on Covington Pike. You need to see Angela. She is the best. I have a difficult to fit face and Angela helps me select frames that will work on my face *and* with my prescription. My glasses are ready in just a few days, and they fit right the first time. If you ever have any problems (I'm hard on glasses and am always losing the screw holding the earpiece on), Angela will fix while you wait. Sure, on-line glasses are cheaper, but this is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. I am very dependent on my glasses and just don't see the point in going with third-rate frames that don't fit correctly and can't be repaired. By the way, prices for frames and lenses at Sam's are quite reasonable. Go see Angela. You'll never go back to on-line. read more

It's a long sad story, but the bottom line is I picked up some putrefied canned dog food that poured it's rotten liquid all down the front of me from my chest to my feet! I understand food goes bad or gets damaged in shipment, but the worst part of my experience was that the 2 employees standing 10 feet away from me barely acknowledged my existence, much less my dire predicament. I called out to them several times for assistance, but they just looked at me and went back to chatting. Finally my 85-yr old mother, who was quite stressed about the situation, yelled at them to please help us! I don't know if they finally just finished their conversation or the vile stench got to them, but they still said nothing to me. They did call a man in a vest over to cleanup the foul puddle on the floor, though. At no point in time did any of them ask if I was OK or if I needed anything, nor did anyone say they were sorry that such a horrible thing happened to me - and I smelled like a dead moose! They were much more worried about getting the floor cleaned up, but not about getting me cleaned up. I tried to clean my hands and shirt with a wet wipe I found in my purse, but it didn't help at all. I made my way to the bathroom and saturated my shirt with water, but still to no avail. The disgusting substance that was all over me was apparently somewhat oily so I was stuck with it (as was anyone near me) - and we still had a couple of hours of errands to attend to before we could get home! (my mom lives out in the country a bit) I asked our cashier at checkout if we could speak to a manager, but was told she was unavailable. Another young lady came to talk to me, and she listened to my sad tale, but only said she would let the manager know. Still no apology or concern, and she didn't go to the contaminated area to check it out, although I'm sure that entire side of the store reaked. I called the store several times after we got home later that afternoon, but was just kept on endless hold. People did keep picking up and asking who I was holding for, but I was never able to actually speak to anyone. I was mostly concerned at that point on getting myself and my clothes decontaminated & disinfected! I also emailed the corporate office that evening, but it has been 5 days and still no response. I did get someone who seemed a bit concerned about my experience via a Facebook private message, but never knew where or who they were. They gave me a 1-800 number to call if I wanted to file a claim, but I don't really know what to claim since I wasn't exactly 'injured.' I did have to scrub my hands & fingernails in Pine-Sol & bleach to remove the smell so did lose a little skin, but needs must. I soaked my clothes (shirts, pants, bra & underwear) in Odo-Ban (also my flip flops) then washed them several times so think I may have salvaged them, although will probably still be leery about ever wearing them again. The stench that was on me for hours made me severely nauseous and probably affected everyone that encountered me that way! It was a horrifying experience. I live in OKC and have never encountered such a problem at my local store, but will be unlikely to darken the door of that Sam's in Memphis ever again. I have never been to Costco (we don't have in OKC yet), but I think I am ready to check it out on my next visit to Memphis! read more

One of the earliest SAMs on town this location is usually not very busy and has a decent enough staff.

They say first impressions mean the most, and this place nailed it! I came in after a long work day and asked where Simple Green was. Most places would either say they don't know or give me an aisle number, but not this place; this gentleman walked me over to exactly where this product was while maintaining friendly rapport the entire time. After doing self checkout, I was in and out of there in around 5 minutes time! The establishment was organized, the service was helpful, and I'll definitely be back to use this Sam's Club. read more

This is the second and last time I'll go to this location. Not because of the store but because of who they have working at the customer service counter. I had a simple request. Get a replacement card and add a family member who was with me to the plus membership I have. State licenses produced and a $20 fee said the associate. She ran the credit card and then took my family members photo and then my photo. She asked if I had the credit receipt. I said you haven't given me anything and nothing prints on my side of the counter. She goes back and looks in the system and says the charge did not take and now the machine (her words) is asking for $40 instead of $20. She said how about renewing your membership ( remember I was here for a replacement card and adding a family member)? She looks again at the "machine" and says " Oh you are already renewed until 12/2020". How about charging the $40 and if she charged me twice with a bank statement they would give me cash back. This seems brief but took about twenty minutes. I said forget it and we left to find out via email that she ran my card for membership renewal all along for $100. I thank God that he gives me strength everyday and this was one time his peace had to come over me. When FEMA clears a disaster area they spray red x's all over it. This Sam's club has that red x on it for me. read more

Sams no longer requires you to show you card as you enter the store. This takes away from feeling secure as I shop at the Covington Pike location in Memphis. This store is near some hard crime areas of Memphis, The 45.00 fee was a feel of shopping without fear! I will most likely not renew my membership. Krogers will be a one stop shop. read more
