Growing up in Bluefield, Walmart was the center of all things. It was a place to go kill time or wander around as a high schooler who just got his/her license (because there really isn't much else going on in Bluefield). I remember when it was in the location where Lowe's now stands, and when the new super-center was built. I believe for a bit this was the biggest Walmart in the area? Virginia? Not sure exactly, but I do remember everyone bragging about it to others when talking about Bluefield. Everything in this Walmart is generally organized and clean, unlike many disheveled Walmart's in bigger cities and other areas. You can find so many products at cheap prices, and you're guaranteed to leave with 50 things when all you came in for was milk and eggs, but it'll still be steal with the amazing prices compared to other locations. I always find unique items here, which is honestly shocking because, well, it's in Bluefield. The workers tend to be friendly and hospitable, but you do get the occasional "just let me scan your items, don't look at/talk to me" type cashier. Still, I'm not sure we would survive without this Walmart here because there really aren't many other grocery-supermarket-everything you need in one stop shops here. I've started to go to Food City down the road a bit more for their vegetable choice, but it will never replace the pride of Bluefield: Walmart. The bakery is also surprisingly amazing. Their pre-made cakes and cupcakes have a large variety of flavors and options, and are cutely decorated! Ask for the whipped cream icing, marbled cake, and custard filling when you custom order a cake. When family visits from out of town, they have to make a stop at this Walmart before heading back home. It's always on the list of things to do when we have guests visiting Bluefield. One star docked for the extremely high chance of running into people you went to high school/elementary school/preschool with or just people you or your family know in general. Small town problems. Also, it tends to get creepy at night.... avoid after 10 PM.

Have been having repeated issues with them and their alleged regulations for months now. Ever since…read moremy daughter transferred all her meds to them, every month there's some new problem. They pick and choose when they will 'release'her meds for pickup, despite her being completely out of meds that cannot have skipped doses. Hilary Pedigo is rude, abusive and completely unprofessional. As a pharmacist her job is at its most basic to fill a legally authorized prescription and submit it for payment to the insurance or self pay. She's judgemental and asks very probing very personal questions that are none of her business and have no bearing on her ability to do her job. Her supervisor only supports her in her behavior so complaining at store level is useless. Basic customer service dictates her opinion is null and void. She is not there to question or judge any pharmacy customer yet she does. When my daughter challenged her tonight she had the gall to say there wasn't a pharmacy in 20 miles that would take her prescriptions. She dismissed my daughter as a customer because she refused to continue to be belittled and abused. We've reported her and the incident to corporate. I won't stop until she's unemployed. She picked the wrong customer to mess with. Mama Bear is on it, she's had a bad day.

My daughter picked up my medication, sent my medication, however it never arrived. I called the pharmacy to explain the situation. Only instead of getting help when I needed it I got cut off, interrupted, and serious attitude. Which I can deal with but it didn't stop there. The pharmacist Mr. Harris thought he had hung up the phone when in actuality he had not. I heard him proceed to tell a co-worker, and I quote, "Some lady just called and said her daughter picked up her prescription and sent them to her but she never received them. Her daughter probably took them and didn't even send them" (end quote) This amount of unkind, uncalled for, and unprofessional bs should not and will not be tolerated. I will be placing a call to their corporate office as well as the better business bureau to make them aware of how Mr. Mike Harris feels and speaks about his customers. Please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Imagine what is being said about you after the phone is hung up.
