Sammy's has the best pizza and lasagna. Service is fast and friendly. Delivery is on time and food is hot. I highly recommend Sammy's!

Omg the best for thick crust! I had their four cheese and fries. And I never usually like crust on pizza but this one I only wanted to eat the crust because of the crispy cheese on top and perfect crispy cheese on the crust. French fries were seasoned well and dip it with the cheddar chipotle sauce - so bomb. I am normally a floppy thin crust pizza but this one was addicting read more

Sammy's - Pizza Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Great place! We have really enjoyed everything we have ordered from Sammy's! The staff is so friendly and everything has been made perfectly, even with our special requests! Normally we pick up, but today we had it delivered, and it was so fast!! A wonderful business!! read more

Sammys! I had heard about this place before and I just had to try it! The sign says "Sammy's worlds greatest pizza" A little bit of a bold claim wouldn't you say? Hahaha but it was definitely a quality pizza with all bases covered. Good crust, good sauce and fresh toppings! I would describe sammy's Pizza as Quasi deep dish( like pizza hut style but a little sturdier and less greasy with overall better quality) I really liked the cheese pizza we got! It seemed to be a mix of cheddar and mozzarella and the cheese got all crusty and crispy and delicious! the pizza crust was really good and had good flavour and texture!! The sauce was classic americana! Had that deep stewed tomato flavor with a nice herbal flavor (oregano-ey) I rather liked it! Overall the cheese pizza greatly pleased me and I would certainly get it again. The vegetarian pizza was really good but lacked a bit of flavor. The veggies were a little watery and had no seasoning on them so the balance was a little bit off I must applaud the quality of the toppings overall, they just needed a little more punch. Each piece had a big old slice of fresh tomato which was very nice and a nice contrast to the cheese! So even though the veggie was a little bland it was quickly doctored by a little hot sauce! I am definitely gonna come back here again! A lot of pie left to try! Next time MEAT is on top! Can't wait! Sammy's definitely had some pizza mojo going on! but as for being the "worlds greatest pizza"??? Well I will let you decide! Check it! read more

Sammy's Pizza has very good food and I have been ordering from them since I moved to Calgary 5 years ago. This low review is for how they treat their staff. They participate in hazing and get staff members to compete in physical challenges to then ridicule the loser. Things like push up competitions. Sounds harmless, but when it is a boy who loses, they degrade his masculinity. As a mother of 3 I found this heartbreaking to hear. I know someone who knows has told me this information and I confirmed it before making this review. I will NOT be ordering from Sammy's ever again. Maybe if they issue a public apology I will consider. Some of these kids are 15 and this is clearly bullying. I will fight back with my dollar. It really shows the type of people the owners are when you hear how they treat those weaker than them. I am ashamed to have supported this business for so long. I would recommend thinking twice before ordering their food. As a proud Calgarian we should promote a better culture than this. read more

Talk about an amazing pizza! This place is awesome! Right from when I walked in and saw the vibe, people were anxious for their pizzas, I could see it in their faces. Once I got my pizza, I couldn't wait to get home. I ate a slice in the parking lot. All I can say is pizza is my favorite food and this is on my Top 3 in Calgary. read more

Overpriced mediocre pizza. Overcharged me which I realized after I paid. When I called they didnt send the delivery driver back for hours and wanted him to leave the money owed in the mailbox. Absolutely unprofessional horrible customer service! Will never order from here again read more

I tried most pizza places here in Calgary and nothing compares to Sammy's pizza. I've been meaning to try it forever and after having it for the first time, my family and I are hooked! You can tell the the owner, Lou, runs a tight ship when the you walk in the door and it is evident in the quality of pies they are putting out. We'll be back again and again!! read more

Sammy's is a spectacular pizza - period! The Borhot's (owners) take great pride in the product they serve. I am a big pizza lover and wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Definitely the best pizza. Have been ordering from here for years, longer than I can remember, definitely more than five years. I always pick up since I live nearby and the service is always great with pizzas cooked on time, or just about to come out of the oven. Warning, pizza will be hot enough to burn legs if you place the box on your lap in the car, but it's worth it for the perfectly melted cheese (which is placed on top of the toppings to hold everything to the crust, this helps to avoid getting all the toppings in one single bite and then having plain pizza dough left...if that sort of thing bothers you, then order from Sammy's) read more

The pizza is pretty good, service is awful!!! We order often as we provide lunch for about 45 staff every Friday, called on March 27th gave order and guy says oh no too far for Delivery! They have delivered to us many, many times! Told him that and said my boss not here too far and hung up! DONE with them forever! Many others pizza places with great pizza and MUCH better service! Don't waste your time or money, go elsewhere! read more

We recently moved down south from the 17th ave area and were glad to discover Sammy's pizza. I thought this was the land of Pizza 73 out in the suburbs and would be stuck with bad pizzas as a trade-off. The delivery driver Ryan helped us out with another pizza we wanted after he arrived, he headed back and fit this into his rounds and we had our extra pizza before the first one was even done. It's a nice deep dish style with generous cheese and toppings, getting customer service over and above this gives it an A+ grade from me. read more

Great Pizza! Great crust! Very busy pizza place, so food is fresh and they don't lack in the toppings.

Great pizza ! Very filling, a lot of toppings ! I recommend ! We got a pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza with jalapeños !

Sammy's consistently delivers quality pizza in a timely fashion, and honestly, consistency in Calgary is key. They make a great pizza. The crust always has that light buttery consistency, the toppings are always fresh, and the sauce has a tanginess that is somewhere between sweet and tart--making a great pizza when put in combination. I've only ever tried their vegetarian, and I have to say that 9/10 I don't appreciate large pieces of tomato added to the top of my pizza. It's weird to me. I want things contained by cheese. Call me OCD, but it's just how I feel. In the case of Sammy's, however, the tomato seems to blend with everything else. Well done. It's actually pretty impressive. read more

Absolutely great pizza! However, have found that the Bannister Road location 'diddles' with the GST charges and the bill totals, so watch out! Likely won't go back. read more

Pizza was delivered hot by a very courteous delivery driver. It was delicious, crispy crust, great flavours.

Sad to say this was the worst pizza I've ever had. The donair was so bad i threw the entire thing out.

On a regular basis I deliver to customers from Sammy's. I endeavour to eat from my restaurants to make creditable honest recommendation referrals. Today I order a medium suggestion from cashier who personal fav was the ultimate. I wanted feta, spinach, vegs, meats and chicken gluten free. When I paid her I was shocked that my medium pizza cost $29.90 asking her why? Responding that the difference reflected quality! I asked if my discount was applied she stated that they don't give discounts to anyone even the staff. I informed her that StD network restaurants always give couriers 10-15% off and readily offer freebies (drinks, ice cream, cookies etc). "Not here, they don't need to". Ordered at 4:33, left to pu order 4:36, returned 4:45 to Sammy's my pizza not ready, delivered order 5:52, returned 5:59 got pizza. Then I noticed on the receipt extra charges for gluten free and chicken ($4.50) plus M SD ($23.95) Total ($29.90) incorrect addition s/b ($28.45) overcharge of $1.45 notwithstanding that she never disclosed extra charges. OK, maybe the pizza is worth the pricing after all, advertising "World's Greatest Pizza" reflects "Difference is Quality". Shocked that this is false and my review and experience as consumer and prior owner in TO of a Italian Restaurant qualifies my objective critic as follows: Mgmt - 4 **** Clearly Sammy's pride of ownership, established reputation and business success forged by integrity, personal commitment with hands on micro management and efficiency control of workflow, demonstrates priority to product, qc, process and production. Dysfunctionality and deficits negatively impact customer experience (rushed and hurried (next, next attitude), unwelcoming or acknowledgement showing lack of interest or importance. Communication Interaction sully, curt, rushed perceived as a number not a person, lacks relationship development or appreciation. Staff - 3 *** Backroom employees demeanor reflect negative job satisfaction lacking personal investment, upward mobility opportunity outwardly conditioning negatively overall ambience and customer discomfort of waiting there and feeling unwelcoming and interruptive interaction . Premises - 3 *** Encouraged by Front Staff to comeback to pickup food. Seating arranged limited to comfort facing away from restaurant activity interpreted to "Too busy, Don't stay or interrupt us" . Clean and compact Food - 2 ** My pizza was very hot and appeared overcooked burnt. Gluten Free Crust was hard as cardboard and tasted terrible. The worst of all Pizza in Calgary (I've eaten at them all). Meat absent and few chicken pieces too much feta, no vegs but spinach was fresh and good. I ate one slice partially and gave the rest to my dog who smelt it and left her fav treat. I made only one p-u and delivery before my body violently reacted with cramps and hushed bowel drama then and shortly after again? My husband the same. Service - 3 *** My numerous experiences consistently are late and with long wait times without apologies only we're busy and delays are what they are. Customers are advised by me with apologies for late deliveries created by Sammy's the best above the rest worth the wait they are always swamped. Notwithstanding that no concern to delay or loss business experienced by them or even offered water or small talk to help the time pass. Just wait no place for bags and in the way. Take a number like the rest. Profile - 1 * Courier consensus network talk are negative and prefer to pass on their deliveries noting that they are made to feel like losers not professional couriers important part of their team. Orders are processed after others which is contrary to all other restaurants which ensure StD are expedient as priority orders acknowledged to our arrival and provide ongoing updates if delays may impact order, and info of food types and special needs of delivery. Pizza was quite good, BUT, they OVERCHARGED on the GST and then OVERCHARGED again on the bill total. We're talking about $2 on a $30 bill or about 7%. Be forewarned, check your charges. Won't be back. read more

Amazing, thick, gooey pizza-y goodness awaits you at Sammy's. This is by far the best pizza I've had in Calgary. I can appreciate that this style of pizza is not for everyone ( yeah, I'm looking at you, "thin crusters") but if you want a great tasting pie with fantastic ingredients, then Sammy's is your homie. Word of caution, Sammy's is ALWAYS busy, so at peak, delivery may take a long time...I just pick up instead, and it's always piping hot. AMAZING!! read more

Great pies! Love the rest of the menu too. Wings and wraps are taste.

Awful!! I heard about this place n I thought I should try it..I wish I didn't Chicken donair was basically lettuce sandwich with a few pieces of chicken, pizza was too greasy, in fact it's a cheese pie and above all it's too pricy for the quality $17 for 2 chicken donair n 14.80 for medium cheese pizza, I could have bought 2 XL 4 topping pizza from dominos or papa jones. Never going again. read more

We tried the Reuben pizza and the donair pizza. Both were really tasty, but the pizza style is quite bready so if you normally eat 3-4 slices, prepare to eat half that with these pizzas! They don't keep well in the fridge after 2 days so don't order too much. Otherwise, not a bad deep dish pizza! read more

We order Sammy's Pizza regularly, and are normally really happy with the quality and service. However; tonight, we ordered and my husband went to pick it up.... we were told 7:15pm on the phone. My husband got there and it wasn't ready, so he sat inside and waited.... it was taking so long that they eventually asked him to pay and wait in the car and that they would text when it was ready. Another 15 minutes goes by, and no text. By this time, he's obviously fairly annoyed, so he goes in, waits and another 5 minutes before it's ready. He was offered no discount, nothing.... he waited 35 minutes past what they told us (which was already over an hour when we ordered.) It's BS that they made him pay and then go get in the car so that they didn't have to give a discount. The prices there are high to begin with and they are very busy, I get it! But, if you can't handle the number of orders you're getting, figure it out so you are not screwing your customers over! They should've at very least given a discount, that's the proper way to do business when you make a mistake. Pretty disappointing... just to add: they also had no large pizza dough, so you could only get small or medium... on a Saturday night! Seems pretty unorganized. We will probably try Paul's Pizza going forward after this experience. read more

Just an average pizza joint. Incredibly salty meats too. Definitely much better places out there, and for the same price or cheaper.

Sammy's does donairs best. Their sweet sauce is so good I always get extra, as well as with their donair fingers! I love all their sides and the pizzas are always very filling. And bonus the owners are awesome guys! The new location is also quite large and extremely well done! read more

Great pizza but expect to wait if you order during peak times. I was told it would take 45 mins for 2 small pizzas and an order of wings. It took over an hour, granted the order was placed at 530 pm on a Friday. There were 6 other people waiting for their orders when I arrived. If you order during busy times, I'd recommend adding an extra 10~15 minutes to your wait time. read more

We have been ordering pizza from this location since it opened and have had great food but lately there has been a significant drop off as far as quality and service. Note to management: do not send a pizza out when it is clearly overcooked and I mean burnt! we pick it up and take it home to find this charred cheese topping of a pie. Called them back to complain and we're told it's gonna be an hour for another, sounding like they can't be bothered to accommodate us in any way? Never again SAMMY!!! read more

My husband and I are visiting from the states and rented an AirBNB for a few days. Once getting in we were famished and decided to "just order a pizza" - "any pizza". Pizza is pizza, right? Wrong. We chose Sammy's due to the reviews. They did not let us down! With two medium pizzas, he and I ate for 5 days/meals. The crust is outstanding- the sauce and toppings--- PERFECT!! We had traditional pepperoni- best pepperoni I've ever had on a pizza. The other was their new Ruben Pizza. Oh. My. Goodness! The meat was so incredibly tender and the mustard sauce was ridiculously satisfying. We ate it for dinner one night and lunch for four days after. Such a filling meal. Extremely tasty! I wish we had Sammy's in the U.S.! Also, notably- The gentleman who delivered our pizza was super nice and was precisely on time. Only took just over an hour on a weekend evening! (Peak time) Thanks you guys for making us some delicious grub!! Cannot wait to travel back to order again! read more

Recently moved into the area. Locals rave about this place. I ordered it in September and it was brutal. The crust waaaay waaay under cooked. It was gummy. I threw it in the oven at home which helped drastically. After telling the few people that recommended Sammy's about our experience they couldn't believe it. Blah blah blah..."i cant believe it"...blah blah blah... well, we figured we must be wrong about this place and we were guilted into trying it again. We ordered it again last night as everyone says "Sammy's is the best" well...same chewy under cooked disappointing pizzas. The kids pepperoni Pizza may not of hit the oven longer than a couple minutes as the crust was stretching out like the cheese. I am realizing that people in this area don't leave this area so they don't know any better. I am grabbing Pizza from two different Pizza joints in town and hosting our friends tonight so they can eat good Pizza. Attention entrepreneurs...there is an opportunity for a top notch Pizza joint in the area. There is definitely a gap in the pizza market here. The Caesar Salad earned the overall review of 2 stars. Pizza gets 1 star after we cooked it for another 15minutes in our oven at home. read more

the thing ive noticed abut the pizza lately is the amount of toppings has probably been reduced by at least 25%...cheese is good crust is good. so all in all its ok.. not great..id rather pay a little more for the toppings they used to have. read more

The only pizza place we order from in the south of Calgary! Sure delivery takes an hour in peak time but we only order on weekends so we expect it and plan for it. Busy is a good sign that they serve good food! Drivers are always polite, the food is great and exactly what you order is exactly what shows up. Oh yeah, and they don't skimp on FRESH toppings. Keep up the good work. read more

Week, I just ordered a sammys donair pizza, there's $35 I will never get back. The crust is gross and undercooked. The "sweet sauce" tastes like they opened a bottle of Hellman's mayo and heated it up. It arrived with the sauce smeared all over it, looked more like a pan of cinnamon rolls. I'm not sure in what world this is world famous meat and sauce but it's not this one. I'm from Nova Scotia and I know good donairs, this is not. Avoid this poor excuse for a pizza/donair place. I wish I could somehow go back and change my own mind. read more

Soooo Salty. I ordered a pizza at their peak time on Friday night for delivery at the southern point of their delivery zone so I was not surprised at the 90 minute delivery estimate. 84 minutes later the pizza arrived piping hot! Awesome! However the half ham and pineapple and the half ham and pepperoni was soooo salty due to the ham that the whole experience was very unpleasant. Too bad because what I thought was the hard part they did great. read more
