Sammy's is a traditional barber shop circa 1970 filled with a variety of barbers. I go to a barber named Danny who has been cutting hair for over 45 years all at Sammy's. I have spent $150.00 for a haircut and while the ambiance was superior to Sammy's the outcome was no better. Danny gives a terrific haircut all for $20.00. Great place...Great job! read more

Got my haircut today. Just about when we were finished, he took out the razor. Looks like he was nervous or not paying attention. He cut me 3 times, one pretty deep. The pic attached is of the deep cut, a few hours after. I guess the real message here is: Latinos are not welcomed. Not much with apologies either, paid $30 for the slashes and haircut. Very disturbing. Stay away! read more

Sammy is the worst barber. Took my son here for his first haircut, asked him to even out his long hair and trim it a bit but keep it long. He gave him an adult haircut. It looks AWFUL. It's so short. He ruined my son's hair. Icing on the cake, it was $28 for this butcher job. read more

Good haircut good price and no appointments needed. Real old school barbershop just walk in get your haircut.

This place keeps raising the price of haircuts by five dollars every few months. NO OTHER barber shop in the area is charging thirty bucks for a basic mens haircut. That weasel Sammy (who never ever says thank you when he takes my money) is greedy and will definitely lose business from this. read more

First and last time there haircut and a shave not a full old fashioned shave was $50 left a $10 tip and I'll never be back

I've been going to Sammy's for several years and always get good service. For the last year I've been getting my hair cut by Julia and have never had a complaint with her work. She does a good job and is very personable read more

Sammy is a precision hairstylist and runs a tight ship with experienced professionals to take care of your grooming needs. Open seven days a week with several barbers on duty at all times, waiting time is kept to a minimum. Or call for a reservation, just to be sure. I've been coming here since 2003. I've tried other places when I wasn't able to get here and they don't compare to the consistent quality I get here. read more

Not coming back. Barber gave me a totally different cut with zero skill. Sexually harassed me on my way out when they said there were something on my shirt, and tap my butt on the way down. Clearly child molestors trying to cup a feel while working there. read more

July 3rd, 2020: $24.00 BUCKS FOR A SIMPLE [BUZZ] CUT! REALLY ? I really don't like posting a negative review - BUT - I feel it my obligation to let YOU [future potential customers] know that they have [post-covid-19, July 2020], RAISED their prices from $19.00 for a SIMPLE [12 minute - crew-cut-haircut] to an UNREASONABLE $24.00 bucks for that same 12 minute SIMPLE/BASIC haircut! TWENTY-FOUR BUCKS! That's a [27%] increase over the [pre-covid] price! TWENTY-SEVEN PERCENT! When I asked him [the owner] about the increase, he said . . . "well . . . I had to pay $8,000.00 a month rent, while we were closed"! OK - I get that. And, it's an unforeseen [and regrettable] . . . COST OF BEING IN BUSINESS! My question to you, my fellow haircut consumer is . . . WHY SHOULD [WE] PAY FOR HIS LOSSES? Did he give us a 27% discount - for ALL the years they were making a [better-than-average] profit ? Will he give a 27% discount to the many customers who LOST their jobs to Covid-19, and are living on waaaay less income ? Will he give a 27% discount to first-responders who put their lives on the line for ALL of us, including HIM? Will he give a 27% discount to his [many] senior citizen, long-time, "ole'-timer's" on FIXED INCOMES who have NOT received a [27%] increase in their incomes ? BUT - the bigger question, [I think] is . . . "does reopening after Covid 19 give ANY business a - [blank check] - to pass along their [fixed operating cost] loses . . . to their customers . . . . . . . . "just because". FYI, they are NOT the only Barber Shop in Whitestone! Last time I checked . . . business is STILL driven by COMPETITIVE PRICING! Yes, his barbers DO give an EXCELLENT haircut! But ya know what . . . so do the [many] OTHER barbers around Whitestone, who have NOT [jacked up] their prices, post-covid-19, by a an UNREASONABLE, FIVE BUCKS, 27% ! I've been coming here [over] 20 years, but I will NOT be coming back - E-V-E-R again . . . PERIOD! read more

Sammys is the best in queens! Eric is my guy. Never a bad cut

Been going to roman at Sammy's for years. Always gives me a great cut and keeps appointments. Can't ask for more!

I've been coming to the barber shop for around a year now. My barber there is José. He's an Argentinian dude who's pretty funny and likes the catch slogan, "make you look like a movie star". He definitely knows what he's doing and never once gave me a bad haircut. It's an awesome place where all the barbers are professional with plenty of gossip. read more

If you want a great close razor shave, see Gino. I've been going to him for years and he has never nicked me. Afterwards he gives you a quick upper body massage. He also cuts my hair and does a fine job. The barber shop is over all a friendly neighborhood spot and you can hear lots of gossip read more

Great barber shop. Sammy's himself is great and is a hard worker. The other barbers are good to decent. But I would definitely recommend this place. Try to go on an off peak time to avoid a long wait. read more

Very good cuts, friendly people,,, a couple blocks away from home

Terrible cuts both times for my friend and I. The owners son who cut my hair both times (first seat on the left) needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. The second time I came back and told him that I wasnt happy with my cut. He copped an attitude, which I dont mind but while leaving I asked him for a 7-day free trail at NYSC which he denied me. Terrible business ran by a miserable man. I will never come back nor do I recommend others to do so... read more

Sammy's barber shop is an ideal place to get a great professional haircut. Not only is Sammy an artist when it comes to using scissors or a razors, so are the other 6-8 experienced barbers who work with Sammy. I have been coming to Sammy for 10 years and I always keep coming back to the best. BTW- SAMMY IS OPENED FOR BUSINESS Monday-Saturday from 8am-7pm, and Sunday from 9am-5pm. read more

Sammy's barbershop has been a staple of precision hair styling by all their accredited barbers. I just started going back to them because I moved away from the are and the barbers in Suffolk county suck. I was tired of a shabby haircut and went back to where I went a decades ago. Nothing has really changed except for everyone getting older lol. Roman is my barber and I love the attention he always gives to my haircut. I know he is usually busy so it's best to make an appointment. Sammy's is by far the best barber I have ever gone to and will remain a customer as long as they are in business read more

Ridicously over priced! I went in and asked for something so basic. She messed up the style; cut too much in front and not enough in the back. She didn't do as I had instructed. I wouldn't be this furious had I not paid $21 ($16 for haircut + $5 tip). Don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon.... read more

I have been going to Sammy for over 15 years and he is a great barber! I live in LI now, but sill make the trip back to him for a haircut every time because always comes out perfect. When I need a nice-tight fade, I go to "young" Daniel. I also take my son (1.5 years old) to him and he's able to give him a fade as well. Along with nice hair designs on the side of his head (stars, stripes, etc.) Don't forget to ask for "young" Daniel... read more

Great place. Everyone in there is very friendly and accommodating. All of the barbers are very professional and give outstanding haircuts for a very reasonable price. The barbers all have years of experience and are great. I highly recommend this barber shop. read more

This barbershop is filled with incompetent barbers who have no idea what they are doing. Many of the barbers don't listen to what you are saying and give short/inadequate haircuts who don't care what the customer wants. I will no longer be going to this horrible place any longer. read more

SAMMY'S BABRER SHOP IS THE BEST ! My son and I have been coming here for about 6 years. Sam and his father David run a great, clean business. I use Sam as my cutter but will feel comfortable using any of the other barbers that work there. I am not the easiest guy to get along with nor am I the easiest guy to satisfy. But at Sammy's Barber Shop they got the right stuff to make my son and I happy and loyal customers. I don't worry about trying a different style cut with Sammy. I am confident in the experience and workmanship of the entire staff. This place is the friendliest barber shop one can ever experience.. I've seen people walk by and knock on the window and even stop in to say hello, myself included. I've seen Moms and Dads drop off their little ones for a haircut then go shopping next door. I watched Gino and Danny engaged in great conversations with some of their elderly customers while cutting their hair. Roman, Carmine, Nick, Alex, Arthur ,Isak, and Sophia are also hair cutters that work there and are also part of the backbone of the business. The place is always busy and it should be because the fantastic business that Sammy runs. It is open 7 days a week also .Another key to the business is parking, located in the Whitestone Shopping Center there is always free parking right outside the door. Sammy can even change the name to THE FAMILY BARBER SHOP, because you do feel like family when you go there. read more
