Jim has been my regular barber, Egyptian, nice sense of humor, the kind of guy who probably on his bad days still keeps a smile. I've been going to this Barber Shop for about 30 years now! Not as regularly as I used to when I lived in New York, but I will still sit around and wait for a haircut if I know we're going to visit my parents "in a few weeks." Frank and Joe (original owners) recently sold the business, and now still work there. There are still a few of the "older" barbers here; for several years immediately prior to leaving New York I only went to Frankie (Frank's son), but since he left the industry I've been to any barber that is available when I get there--and they've all been great! All in all, prices have stayed low (relatively, they've gone up a bit now under the new owner but still highly competitive), still has a feel of the "local" barber shop, and still very welcoming. read more

The quality of the barbers and haircuts has gone down over the last decade. Ever since Boris bought the business, the barbers keep on messing up the evenness of my haircuts. After my past five haircuts, the left side of the hair on my head is longer than my right side every time. I even specifically told all of the barbers (all different but equally ineffective) who cut my hair to fix it. They argue that they do everything correctly even though I always discover this unevenness after touching my left side of my head. It makes me look horrible and people make fun of me for the haircut at work, with friends, and with my family. It is very demoralizing. What is the point of offering a cheap haircut if your hair looks ridiculous? I will be looking for a new barber shop in spite of the greater prices in other barber shops around the area compared to this one. The very poor quality is not worth the cheap price in this establishment compared to other barber shops. read more

Unless you're over 40 this is probably not for you. The old time barbers here really just specialize in military style buzz cuts. The whole cut takes less than 10 minutes and just feels rushed. If you urgently need a shape up then sure, stop by... but dont expect expert fades/tape ups. read more

Came here for a haircut a few times and always had a different barber. The first time my cut wasn't what I requested and could've been better. Decided to give this place another shot after and the barber this time, who sat all the way towards the back of the shop, gave me a great cut. I came back a few days ago and that barber wasn't there and a different person cut my hair. I told him exactly what I wanted and from the very beginning, I knew it wasn't going to end well. I asked for a fade on the sides, but instead I got an extra short buzz-cut and it came out awful. If that isn't bad enough, I requested a number 8 on top with clippers and instead, he was using his hands to measure my hair so he can cut it off. I must've had 2.5-3 inches of hair on top and when I stopped him from doing it his way because I knew it wasn't going to be exact, he then used his clippers and instead of my hair being trimmed to a size 8, it was down to a 6. I was extremely unsatisfied by this haircut. I grew my hair out specifically to get a certain type of cut, and it was ruined. The barber then knew I wasn't happy so after I paid for my cut, he walked off and I still went up to him to tip him because i know this is the service industry and people work for tips, but I shouldn't have even paid for this haircut. Wish I had a before&after photo from what my hair looked like when I first sat down to when the cut was completed ! And I'm very lenient with this 2-star rating because of it wasn't for the 2nd haircut I ever got here, this place wouldn't be more than 1-star read more

This was my favorite barber shop for years. I went here for a solid decade, but the quality has declined in my opinion. First off, the best barber they ever had was fired. Eddie used to have a line out the door and was a great, young, charismatic barber. But the employees there were clearly jealous and from the conflicting stories I've heard, he was probably fired because the bosses wanted to be the "most desired" barbers. The last time I went there was the last time I will ever go. They began adding some younger barbers to the back of the bench. I never minded trying them out, but a woman cut my hair so badly that I will never step foot in the establishment again. She completely removed my hairline, not listening to my directions of a 4 on the sides with ONLY scissors trimming the top. The buzzer scalped me basically, making me unpresentable for work for nearly a month. She had the audacity to tell me "she wasn't finished yet" but I ended the cut, paid her (and even tipped her) and left. In the owner's defense, he attempted to fix my hair. He even acknowledged and apologized that she "failed me." But I don't care. If you do decide to go here, only go to Jimmy. He's a solid barber and quite the character. The brothers who own the establishment are very good barbers as well, but they have plenty of regular customers so very often you'll have no choice but to look down the bench. Wow... I didn't even think to review these guys. When I was a wee lad (Circa 1986-2004), I used to come to this barber shop and get my cuts done by Frank, Joe, etc... After my stint in college... growing my hair out and going to some overpriced salons... I took the dive back in a few months ago. Prices are maybe a dollar higher than when I left, and theres a few new barbers... but I've never had a bad haircut in all my years. They even remembered me and asked about the family. read more

Great barber shop!!! Have been going there for almost a year now got great haircuts from Frankie, Jimmy, and George Went there a week ago and got this new guy Young kid named Joe. He completely messed up my haircut all I asked was a regular with scissors he took the buzzer and told me it comes out better with the buzzer and chopped away now I go hai standing up everywhere I can't even comb my hair normally gotta wear a hat everywhere now I love the barbershop but will NEVER let Joseph near my hair ever again. Ideal is a solid barber shop. I've been coming here for about 5 years now. There's about 5-8 barbers on any given day, open 7 days a week. Sal, the barber with the mustache owns the place, but Jimmy has been my guy from the start. Egyptian dude, has a snarky sense of humor, bags on the other barbers, but it's funny. He remembers exactly what I want done with my hair and I come in every 4-5 weeks. I think that's impressive? and appreciate that.
