They are pretty fast and challenging as well. The whole course is based of three 9-hole courses. So you can play a full 18 or just 9. The staff here are very welcoming, and for being a Hispanic I was well amazed at how they treated me like a customer and didn't shown any signs like I didn't belong there. My buddy Lu and I are Army veterans, we were also amazed how they celebrated and honored Veterans Day with the US Flag on every hole. My only complaint is maneuvering around to the course to find your way back to the main building or the next hole on courses 2 and 3. Overall, I was happy and satisfied. I will be coming back at least once a month if I can.

Lots of water and ice on the course which is helpful as the temps approach a hunskie. It is a good way to break up the trip from San Antonio to Dallas since the club is less than a mile from IH 35. Bonus was the course wasn't crowded and we made it around in under 3 hours.

First thing I noted was the complete lack of ample parking. Had to park my brand new car in an un-level grass ditch. (no other option once the parking fills up) They had numbers ahead of time so, they clearly new parking would be an issue. It wasn't like there wasn't enough parking for 10-20 cars, but more like 50+. To make it worse there was no lip, so you had no choice but to drive up onto the curb. They were ushering us onto the grass so it was clearly normal. Where to begin? We were told what a great deal they got with half-priced drinks. $7 a bottle for the cheapest beer. I think not. The food was cold, not a little, but really cold and none of it was remotely appetizing. I always finish my food, not this time. Asked for water because I didn't want to pay the theme park prices, I was given warm water. Now it wasn't just warm, it tasted absolutely horrible-- could not believe it. I was quite certain they put a bittering agent in it (not sure if this is legal but I hope not). Frustrated, and unwilling to pay the prices for drinks, I went in search of a water fountain or soda machine, assuming a country club must have one. I went to a little gym area they had that was immaculately clean, smelling fresh, and they have a great big tank of water complete with lemon and such. It tasted absolutely great. I am thoroughly convinced they put a bittering agent in the water and just served up awful food. The venue should be embarrassed of the level of the service they give. I always tell individuals planning events to steer clear! Is it a good country club? Heck, it looks nice, but don't put your wedding or other event here unless you want BYOW (bring your own water!!)

This has been by far one of the most challenging golf golf courses that I have played on. One it…read morewas very hard find your ball during the dormant season. Two all of their sand pits have no sand, bit have concrete with a liner. I am not sure if they are planning on to fill them in later with sand or not. On the first hole is where my challenging experience began. The direction I thought I was hitting was definitely not the direction I expected my ball to go. So be sure to aim more left than you think need to. If not, you will aim towards the street or airfield next door. The next challenge is to understand which direction to go if it is your first time playing here. This course is definitely in need of repair for it's age. However, from my experience overall it was still a fun course to play on even with it's challenges. The staff are very friendly here. ​What stood out the most was the respect my golf buddies and I were shown. In many golf environments, customers are often judged the moment they walk through the door, but this golf course provided an inclusive and welcoming experience from start to finish. It's refreshing to support a business establishment where everyone greeted with genuine professionalism regardless of appearances.

I don't expect top of the line but some of these were straight up crooked ! We asked the same bartender about recalibrating the screens because there were several shots we took that just didn't register on the screen I guess ... and his response was " man that shit costs like 4 thousand to do". The same bartender walked by us at 0820 and reminded us that we only had 10 mins remaining ... we all mentioned to him that we started late due to your last group , and he stated "sorry there's nothing we can do about it ". Such a comfortable feel provided by the employees, and the members. We knew this would be our second home immediately. We've been honored to meet so many amazingly friendly folks, any food ordered is prepared quickly, while you wait with fresh ingredients. Deli up to the bar! You will make new friends immediately, including the servers who are all like second family. My husband has not returned to golfing, but he is ready and will most likely do so this coming year. Personally, I just enjoy sitting outside at the clubhouse enjoying the amazing views. I've taken our cart all around the pathways and I'm always so impressed by what a nice course is located right here in Gatesville. Good job y'all!
