Innumerable mistakes to do with my medication/doses. It took over six months to get my monthly…read moreprescriptions correct. Staff on the front desk are mostly useless and at times downright rude. I have had to explain simple medical terminology in notes from my private GP to a GP at this surgery. I have just rang to ask for help with regards to ordering my prescription online, explaining that I am abroad and need the prescription ready for when I arrive back. I was not asked for any of my details nor the medication in question - you'd imagine this to be rather important information. The response was: "sorry we don't take requests over the phone" ... yes but can you help me register online? "No, I can't see your screen. Please come into the surgery" .. I am abroad "well when you are back you can put a request in at the surgery"

I'd had much better experiences with this surgery since 2013, coincidentally, the same time as I…read morewas allocated to a new GP. Waiting times have been cut down, and my GP listens and does seem to take my ailments seriously, no matter how embarrassed I am to speak about them. I've been able to get appointments within a few days (it helps that my office is near enough that I can go during working hours) and the online booking system is pretty decent as well, allowing you to book and cancel appointments online. The only complaint here that I have now is that, if you have to call for any reason whatsoever, the chances are that you will spend a long time on the phone on hold. I suppose that it's inevitable though. The NHS is a free service available to all, and it's only to be expected that it's busy!

This place is nothing more than a money machine. - I once needed to be urgently referred to a…read morespecialist and asked the doctor to call the hospital for me. The answer was 'no that is not possible because your 15 minute slot is over'. - When you walk through the door you are first and foremost treated like someone who is set to rip them off, with the receptionist yapping away about 'who is going to pay for this' and when you explain that your insurance will pay they do not believe you. - They take your credit card details when you book an appointment; this has never happened to me before when booking a doctor's appointment. - After I recently had a blood test the receptionist was unable to access the data for the invoice so I said I would come round soon and pay for it. Things were busy at work and it took me a few days to return to their office. During that time they called me EVERY SINGLE DAY to 'remind' me of the goddamn £18.- I owed them. - The accounting of their beloved money seems to be chaotic I was recently chased for 'outstanding charges' from a consultation that took place in mid-2011. Thing was that everything had been paid for back then and I have the receipts to prove it. Greedy, greedy, greedy bunch. Their trashy website should have warned me. Nothing here is about the patient, it is all about the cash. I am a person who pays up when I owe money. I must say that I was so very offended by being treated like someone who would leave them sitting on their bills that I will never go back to Medicentre again. In the meantime I've found another walk in clinic that treats me first and foremost like a patient. They have experienced and knowledgeable doctors and I am much happier with them.

I visited the Paddington Station clinic while on a trip from the US to London as I had developed a…read moresinus/respiratory tract infection. While I realize that medicine is practiced differently from country to country, I was disappointed with my interactions with the person who "treated" me, who I am assuming is a physician. My disappointed is compounded by the fact that this chain of walk-in medical clinics in London caters to people who will pay cash up-front for their services and does not see patients via the government run NHS (National Health Service). The individual who "saw" me did not introduce her self, tell me her name, or her title/position. She just sat me down in a chair and started asking me questions, and then typed my answers in to her computer. She did not understand the names of many of the medications I take on a regular basis (odd, since this chain does cater to international visitors), and she was just kind of hard to understand, "accent" issues notwithstanding. After a very cursory physical exam she opened the door to the treatment room and said, "come with me and I will sign your prescription." We went to the reception area where the "script" was printed and she signed it. She did explain what she was prescribing me (a common antibiotic that I've taken in the past, fortunately), how I should take it, or the circumstances under which I should contact their clinic if there were any further problems. For this I was charged 70 pounds, which is not unreasonable, but I expected friendlier and more courteous treatment from the healthcare provider. If I am in London again and need to see a doctor I;ll choose another urgent care center, from which there are several more to choose, fortunately.
