Absolute WORST facial ever. Upon arrival, she did not formerly introduce her self. I follow her into a room, she starts lecturing me without even asking me one question. Lectures that I need to take Omega, without asking if I even do. I run and manage an entire line of natural supplements for a medical center, so that was obnoxious to just assume and lecture without even getting any information. She didn't even do a skin analysis... but then insisted I should get a facial peel. She did not describe what type, then told me I need to do research.,... ummm... you didn't even ask me if I ever have. I research everything. I'm not some stupid consumer. I read and research any and everything. So she points for me to lay down, I stare at a dirty stained headband and am slightly applauded by it. But went ahead and laid down. She didn't even place anything on my eyes, then starts rubbing a cleanser roughly onto my face... she even got it in my mouth.... no care or consideration going into this facial whatsoever. I'm accustomed to people who put care and consideration into their craft. She had absolutely none. After this she sloppily slathered on some mask, then left the room for 15 minutes. Really???? Typical Facials include some type of treatment while a mask is setting in... typically a hand treatment, shoulder massage or something. After 15 minutes she returned... washed the mask off, sprayed me with something that went into my MOUTH! (Which I have been nauseous all day long... from these products going into my mouth!)Then roughly used the "hydro-wand", then said. "Your done". wow. She spent a total of what 8 minutes with me and left me laying there for the rest of the time. I was out the door within 25 minutes. WORST SERVICE EVER. A facial is a beauty service that people pay money for... they want to relax and enjoy the time away from their busy lives. I could have done what she did at home and saved the time and effort. I actually own the majority of products. I don't know who wrote all these 5 star reviews... I'm assuming her friends. I was applauded and will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Connie and Desiree are just plain awesome. I started coming here to help with my adult acne that developed after changing birth controls. I've never had acne in my life, so it was a difficult adjustment in terms of my skin's balance, product changes, routine changes, etc. Connie has walked me through every step of the way, helping me identify issues and modify my habits/products to get great skin! Not only that, but my skin looks SO healthy and radiant- people notice and compliment me! Connie has some great products available, but she doesn't push them on you at all. In fact, I think one of the best things she did for me was go through LITERALLY every ingredient of the products I had been using to identify what was working and what was hurting. She also gives the most thorough facials I've ever had... I leave feeling totally pampered every time! I've also had my eyelash extensions done with Desiree a few times, and she is meticulous in getting the perfect look. I'm always very happy with the results! These two have a real talent, and they are so easy to schedule with. They will drop everything to get you in when you need last minute appointments, and come in on their days off to make sure you get the treatments you need. I felt taken advantage of at Samaeo. I was asked if I wanted an "upgrade" service during the facial and microderm. I would prefer to be asked before I get into a relaxed state. Also, I was offended when Connie told me where I could put the tip on the reciept-- this coming from the owner of the spa. I don't see how Samaeo can continue to build a customer base with what I felt was more of an interest in my money than an interest in seeing me as a future client. Spa experiences are a feeling. I just got through listening to my lady bitch about how horrible the service at some crap spa (not a day spa - as she was told throught her lectured trestment). It sounds like from the amout of discounted sites your using such as groupon, living social and who knows what else, that you need business. Apparently your not using the exposure to put your best foot forward. Instead your totally rude and unprofessional. Connie really took her time and did a fabulous job! I have been having troubles with my skin and was thinking of going to a dermatologist. I'm glad I went here instead because I really don't want to take medication rather fixed the problem internally. She did several peels, microderm, and a mask. A beautiful and beautifying experience. Connie Sanphy, the owner, knows her stuff and will work magic on your skin. Her microdermabrasion combined with a no down-time peel will render near-miraculous results. At least, it does for my middle-aged skin, and I have rosacea, too. I leave totally relaxed and glowing. I love coming to Connie and to Sameao! I found this place about 3 years ago when I bought a groupon and have been a loyal customer ever since. I go about 4 times a year and usually get a peel, hydro wand and eye treatment. I noticed some other review feeling 'sold'... well Connie cares about my skin and if she has a product to recommend, she will, but she will never push. I've since started using sanitas for my skin and eyes and can feel and see the difference. I get compliments from my friends on my skin so I will always trust Connie. PLUS, she has great deals every month and you get a great discount on your birthday so I always go the distance then :) Not to mention Connie herself is a delight. Skip it! Well...unless you have a groupon/living social voucher. In that case, you kind of "have to go," but it's sure to be a waste of your time. Get ready to be treated like you're "the lowest paying customer." Your service (which consists of several services) will be complete in less than 30 minutes. During that time you'll be offered add-on/up-sell options at least every 5 minutes. It won't be relaxing because you're being sold to the whole time so there's lots of decisions to make. I do like this place. They don't do extractions like I've had at other places, which is okay. Your visit will be a little less than an hour, somewhat expedited. I do agree with a lot of negative reviews; I have several dermatologists and dietitians in the family, and the information that I've been raised with definitely contradicts some of the information that they will give you. I know what's right, and usually I just listen and don't argue, but I know differently about certain things. I do get a good facial here, it's relaxing. I don't always expect a whole lot from facials, I've been to probably 20 places, and I've yet to find an esthetician that I necessarily get along with or I have found to be nice. A facial anywhere is usually 40% relaxing, 50% lecturing and 10% butting heads. The after effect is always worth it though :) read more

I bought a Groupon for a Microdermabrasion and a Facial or Peel. I haven't had a facial in years, so I was very excited for this. I called to make an appointment, and they were able to get me in the next day. I ended up getting a peel and the microderm. Connie did an amazing job. She gave me some great advice, and really knew what my skin needed. She told me about different products, but never pushed me into buying any. She actually encouraged me to use what I had at home first. One thing I did end up buying was the mineral make up because I really liked how it looked and didn't have any at home. I left with my skin feeling completely new and refreshed. It's been almost 1 week since my visit, and my skin looks so much better. I can't believe I didn't start getting facials sooner! I hate giving bad reviews, but went here recently using a microderm groupon. Honestly I felt rushed and the treatment not worth the money, just glad I didn't pay any more. Took less than 20 minutes, no noticeable results and not sure they really know about skin compared to other places I have been. Nice lady but total waste of money. read more

I don't know if using a Groupon has anything to do with it, but it felt like I was rushed in and rushed out. It was not soothing nor calming or even a pleasant experience. Connie did not introduce herself, told me to follow her upstairs and lay down on the table. I asked if I should remove my boots or my top and put on a robe. No, not necessary. It was very warm in there and the sun from the skylight was shining on my face. The whole procedure, the microdermabrasion and facial, took a total of 30 minutes. I did not even have good results afterward. My skin looked and felt the same. As I was leaving and was paying an additional $10 for my facial, which I knew and agreed to, I gave her a $20 bill. I was planning on leaving her a decent tip and she just took it and said thanks. Not thanks, here is your change. I've had quite a few facials in my lifetime and this felt like I was being practiced on by a cosmetology school trainee. Not by a business owner who should know about customer service. I got 2 facials and peels here, with a Groupon. Both were with Connie. It wasn't the friendliest or most spa-like atmosphere. Before we even got started she told me that I needed to change my diet (take out dairy and cheese for sure). But what really ticked me off is after my first appointment, when I went to schedule the 2nd appointment, she pointed out that the Groupon didn't include tip, and that I need to tip on the original amount. Someone needs to explain to Connie that tips are not required, but optional, especially when the person who gave you the service is the owner. read more

I came here after purchasing a living social coupon. It's a mother daughter owned business and my services were performed by the mother. She had all kinds of gadgetss for and information about my skin. I added a couple of services on top of my coupon but never felt I was being "sold" anything. I am not someone who gets facials on a regular basis because I always feel like I end up spending money on things I can do myself- mask, exfoliate, steam, etc. I bought and used a Groupon for Samaeo for a recent trip to Denver to visit my family. The Groupon included a microdermabrasion and facial. the Spa itself- located somewhat close to 16th Street mall and other restaurants, shops, etc. Great location on a safe quiet street with parking. Inside is both upscale and cozy. It is quiet and spacious. Connie, the woman who performed my facial, is so knowledgeable about skin and all factors that effect it- the sun, products, diet, hormones! She gave me some tips on my specific skin situation and performed her services accordingly. I was in a chatty mood so she conversed with me but I can tell she is the type that would let you relax in silence if that is what you prefer. Connie was an expert with her execution and went above and beyond. I can't even tell you how many steps there were to this facial (peel, microdermabrasion, mask, and some special bacteria killing lights and zaps, moisture) but it was by far the most intensive cleaning and treating of my skin I have ever experienced. She explained each step and what it was doing for my skin. To top it off, she applied some mineral foundation to me afterwards so I could go straight to a restaurant for lunch. I left without any redness or irritation which has never happened anywhere else! My skin looked great upon exit but more importantly, my skin has continued to improve day after day since leaving Samaeo. I am absolutely heartbroken that I do not live in Denver and wish I had someone so knowledgeable, efficient and approachable while being professional as Connie to treat me at home in Los Angeles. Try it out because I know if you are looking for someone to really get you glowing you will not be disappointed! read more

I have gone here for Years Connie has always been very courteous and respectful.. Very shocked by some of the reviews women can be catty towards her because she is very beautiful. I would recommend her over and over me and my friends use to have spa party all of us getting chemical facial and microsermabrasion and she always did my hands or some where I felt was troubled while the peel was processing so all the negative in here must be from haterz let's keep it real clash of personality obviously ... I agree with Vintage V. This was NOT what I was expecting at all, and it wasn't even that great. I was not really given any options as to what service I would be receiving, and I felt that customer service was REALLY lacking. As someone in the spa and wellness business, I expect more, and the difference really lies in the details. The esthetician didn't greet me with a smile, or introduce herself. Alls I got was a dead fish handshake. I was hoping to just get a nice relaxing facial, but was told I had to choose a combo of microdermabrasion and other treatments. I chose the one with "facial" tacked on to it. I wrote on my intake form I wanted to work on my trouble spots on my face, and this really wasn't addressed. I was told directly after entering the room to lie down, so I did. In the middle of the treatment I wished I would have removed my necklace and my long sleeved shirt since they were clearly in the way. After leaving the room to let me "rest" as a mask soaked into my skin, she returned and immediately began shining a bright infared light on my skin, without putting anything over my eyes! I was bothered by this even more when the light turned to a bright pulsing light. The "facial" portion lasted about 5 minutes total...which is what I came for in the first place. At the end of the treatment I was told she would meet me downstairs as she changed the nice relaxing spa music to loud jarring radio. The message that sent? Hurry up and get the f*** out of this room. Things I expect out of every spa service? Good customer service, politeness, maintaining a relaxing atmosphere, and a willingness to educate the client before they begin a service. There was no offer of a glass of water afterwards, and i felt like I was being hurried out the door. And overall, I felt like the esthetician would much rather use machines on my face than actually touch me with her hands. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you were looking to receive a chemical peel or microdermabrasion specifically. And even then, I'm sure there are places staffed with people who would actually smile and act like they enjoyed what they were doing. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! I purchased a groupon to get a microdermabrasion and facial or chemical peel. I walked in and wasn't greeted by anyone for 10 minutes. Connie was the one who was going to be doing my facial. She didn't even introduce herself, just asked if I was who I was which was their 1pm appointment. I walked into the room and the bed that they have you lay on was so dirty. Hair and lint everywhere. I was hesitant to lay down but I did so anyways. She didn't even close the door, she left it open to where I could hear her daughter cooking stuff in the microwave. Before being asked what my skin type is like, she put on gloves and stared cleaning my face. She was very persistant on talking about her "upgrades" on her services and the extra charges they were going to cost. I avoided doing any of those because I wanted to talk to her about the options of getting a facial or peel. Before I could speak, she said a peel would be best. I prefer facials so I told her I was thinking I would want a facial and she asked, "Why would you want a facial after I told you a chemical peel would be best?" Customers should never be asked why they want one thing over the other, it was a choice that was offered on the groupon. She then said the facial was $15-20 more, and I disagreed saying that it was on her groupon and she snapped at me saying that it wasn't. I went with the peel and didn't feel like anything even happened. The microderm was not consecutive strokes, instead it was her going all different directions and missing spots. She didn't cover my eyes which was frustrating seeing as the room has windows at the top so the light was shining in my eyes. She had me out of there within 20 minutes and pushed me out of the room as if she needed to get her next client in. I shouldn't feel rushed. When redeeming the groupon, she made sure to point out that gratuity was not included and if I didn't believe her, it was written in the fine print. I hadn't even made a gesture that I wasn't going to leave a tip, even though she didn't deserve one. I gave her $10 and honestly regret it. I will never return there or ever recommend it. I have to agree with Vintage V... But I was so upset by this woman's demeanor I didn't even start my microderm/peel. When I arrived here I saw no one for 10 minutes. I went up to the desk and saw a sign to fill out a form on the counter, so I did. However, I did not sign the legal form because it said "I have asked all questions and received all answers prior to service" which I hadn't at that time. And then I continued to sit there. A woman came down stairs, addressed me by my name and acknowledged that I had found the forms. She then went back upstairs and said she'd be back. About 5 mins later she came back down, took my forms and told me to come upstairs, never even introducing herself so I still have no clue what this person's name is. At the top of the stairs she told me to sign the legal release form, set it down and walked off. I told her that the form says to ask all questions and get answers first before signing. She then scolded me saying she wasn't doing anything until I signed this. I told her I wasn't going to until we've discussed the treatment first so I continued to ask 2 - 3 questions. She answered in the most curt responses possible and again saying she wasn't doing anything until I signed. I kept telling her I understand that but I have questions first. I then asked if I had done something to offend or upset her because this was very uncomfortable and odd behavior, and her response was, that in ten years, no one has ever insisted on asking questions before signing the waiver. I again pointed out the legal context of what this form said and she admitted she'd never even read it. I told her at that point I was not comfortable continuing and wanted to leave. She said "fine". I then asked if I could have the form that contained my personal info and she said "NO" as she ripped off the top portion with my contact info handing that to me. Why she needed to keep my answers to questions like "what kind of skin care products do you use?" and "are you allergic to aspirin" is beyond me. This is 1.5 weeks before my wedding and there was no chance this person was going to touch my skin. I get facials regularly and have never been treated like this before. Please do not get yourself into a bad situation with this business. Steer clear! read more

Connie wasn't very friendly at first then she seemed to warm up. I got scolded about the tip not being included on the living social coupon- she up sold me on a treatment. I had an appointment with Connie yesterday. After driving 45 minutes to what I thought was going to be a pleasant experience, I arrive to find the door open but no one at the reception desk. I sit down and wait 35 minutes. There are two women who apparently rent space from Connie for massage, and are passing in and out of the reception area, but they do not know why Connie is not there or why the office appears to be unattended. After waiting for what I consider to be an generous amount of time, I get up and leave. Today, 27 hours later, Connie calls me, all chipper and friendly. She wants to know if I want to reschedule. She had a personal emergency. She couldn't take time to go put a note on the door. But she said her daughter called me.....Not true. I have a cell phone that lists all calls incoming and outgoing. Didn't call my home phone either, I have caller id that records all incoming calls. I guess it didn't occur to her to ask her RENTERS to put a note on the door for her clients.... Connie never has provided good customer service, but this is totally unacceptable. She apparently isn't needing any new business and doesn't care about previous customers either. She will be closing down soon. Save your money and go some place where you are treated special. I recommend MeSpa in Belmar. They are great and 1/2 the price of Connie. Their products are awesome also! read more
