I originally booked a perm with Sam, but he cut/layered my hair so well that he actually discouraged me from getting a perm! I really appreciated this b/c from a business perspective, he could've still made me get a perm and made more money but he was very honest and put me first! My friend came with me and she booked cut + color, and we were both AMAZED at how Lia and her assistants exceeded our expectations. You rarely leave the salon THE DAY OF feeling so good, but we were both so obsessed with her hair b/c it was giving PINTEREST!! My friend's vibe changed and she looked so glam and chic. One thing I would note is to make sure they price you correctly! I put a deposit for both of us when we booked online but they apparently did not know when we were paying and were about to charge us for the whole thing. I feel like I still got charged more b/c a cut online is $60, and the total deposit I put was $32 but they charged me $33 before tip? So yea, do double check the total price before they charge you.. but overall we are very satisfied with our hairs even though they came out to be more expensive! read more

I booked an appointment ahead of time for a haircut and loved the style. For $60 women's cut, they will wash, cut, and style your hair. I recommend booking Grimm if you want a wolf cut or mullet. read more

They Charged my child the adult pricing, haircut for both my husband and son were mediocre at best for the price I paid, $45 each...I would go elsewhere. Workers here only spoke very little English so communication was a problem. read more

I booked haircut appointments for myself and my mother, and we are both very pleased with the quality of work at this salon. Our stylists Areum and Soyo were efficient and professional. We showed them photo references of how we each wanted our hair to look and they created the styles perfectly. I've had my gel manicure done by Michelle and OMG she's AMAZING. I normally don't post anything on yelp, but I had to for this one. I am very picky when it comes to doing my nails or pedicure but I was extremely satisfied and impressed by her skills. No one ever had satisfied me this much after gel manicure!! You may not able to find spot where she works when you walk into the shop but if you walk further down the hall, there are 2 rooms on the right where you will find her! Was visiting friends in New Jersey and was in desperate need of a straight perm. I had been away on an extended business trip (6 months) and my hair was a mess. With some time to kill, my friend dragged me to Hair Atelier in Fort Lee. The place is big, clean and busy which is always a good sign. Because I had an appointment I was immediately ushered to get my hair washed and dried. Once seated, my stylist listened intently as I described what I wanted done. I was impressed with her attention to detail and efficiency and a few hours later I was pleased with my straight perm and trim. Super happy with my hair color! And I expected my hair would get a lot of damage since i had damaged hair to begin with but it turned out fine, just a bit dry but no burnt frizz. I got my hair done by Sayuri and Soyo on tuesday when it's not so busy. My hair took 4 hrs and i highly recommend going on weekdays if you could. I did two rounds of bleaching and then they colored my hair with violet and then another coloring/bleaching was done at the shampoo chair. Before bleaching, my hair color was light brown(similar to chestnut) and very dry. The result at the salon seemed darker than what i wanted but they told me the color lightens up quickly. After first wash back at home, i noticed pink tints were coming off a bit while shampooing and it looked so much better after a couple washes. I have a very subtle tint of pink with blonde hair. Will come back again when my roots grow so i can bleach the whole hair one more time and try going light blonde. read more

I was originally skeptical of going to a salon to get my haircut, but gave it a try from a friend's recommendation. I was not disappointed and have been going to Hair Atelier for years. The owner, Yuri, always takes great care of me. I've never had to wait when making an appointment and the staff is always on top of everything. Also like how they drape you with a transparent cover so you can use your phone while getting your hair cut. Very clean facility. Recommend an appointment as they can get very busy. Staff is mostly Asian, but language has never been a problem. read more

I've been coming here for many years and have always received the most friendly service. I added coloring to the cuts and have always been happy with the outcome. They updated the salon during the past year and looks much more modern and clean. Since the coloring takes so long, I'm always offered one of those surprisingly good instant coffees. Definitely recommended to make an appointment but the time it takes really depends on how busy they are, as is the case with any popular establishment you frequent. read more

Got my haircut here by Sam Lee. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews because this place is great. I had always driven past it, but overlooked it for some reason until a friend recently recommended it. When I got my haircut, I was still in the process of growing it out from a previous haircut disaster where the stylist over-thinned my hair. I asked Sam to make my hair a bit more full by not using the razor scissors and that's exactly what he did, without sacrificing too much length. As a stylist, he's very efficient and focused, which I liked. He also asked me about my hair care regimen and gave me some suggestions on treatments and how to massage your scalp, etc. This place gets brownie points because they have an online coupon for $5 off, so a woman's wash and cut comes out to only $40 pre-tip. Sam was just as great as the stylist at Hidy, but this place wins in price. I'm glad I decided to give it a try - much better than the "talent" you'd find in Pal Park, I'll definitely be back! read more

My rating is based on their reception and not their service. I don't know if I will go back to get a service based on how I felt from just walking in to get a business card to schedule an appointment. Although there were no customers on a rainy Tuesday, early evening (5pm) and there were 3 staff members in the reception area chatting, not one of them acknowledged us - not even a simple "hi". I gave this place a few tries because it was at a convenient location but I regretted it each time. I've gone for both my son, daughter and for myself. The staff was unfriendly and they just don't seem to care. They don't put much effort into doing a good job and the finished product was very sloppy. I was actually going next door to eat and needed a cut really badly because I had dead ends and my bangs were stabbing me in my eyes so, I decided to try this place out. I went to get my hair washed and it was okay, she was very gentle very mediocre massage. A very young guy cut my hair and he was okay. My hair was dripping wet but he started cutting my hair that way (which I've never experienced) then dried my hair with a lot of effort and it came out nice. I feel he was a bit inexperienced because he kept hitting me cheek while cutting my bangs. I give him an a for effort, though. $45 seemed a bit much for me for the work he did and time he spent. I don't think I would go here again unless it was a dire emergency. read more

Great service. Quality products. But a bit pricey. Women's hair cuts start at $45. I got a Japanese magic straight perm. They start at $250, but the price goes up if you have long or curly hair. My hair is a bit frizzy and runs down to the middle of my back and so it costed me $270, but I found a coupon on their website, and saved $10. But that went towards extra tip because they were so attentive. read more

I needed to get my hair trimmed and I stopped in around 7pm during the weeknight. The whole experience was positive, and they did a good job with my hair. I usually find myself in Flushing for a haircut, but if I need a cut in NJ area, I would not hesitate to get it here. The decor is great and they are friendly and English-speaking which is a plus. read more

Terrible!!!!!! Horrible business etiquette! I called to ask how much my daughters haircut would be. They said $20 over the phone. Took my daughter there for a trim. It look less than 5 minutes for the cut then charged me $30! They said its $20 for boys haircut. They should have clarified that over the phone. Its just straight lying to us. Mind you, my daughter isnt even 2 yrs old. They should feel bad for robbing us of $30 for a 5 minute hair trim. Lying is a terrible way to run a business. They do give a shampoo hair wash in the beginning before and after haircut. They take time and are careful when they cut your hair. Haircuts usually take 30- 35- 40 min. You tell them how to cut your hair and they do it. For a very stylish haircut ask for Jae for more sporty cut ask Shawn. Great must go. read more

Worst place ever! I got my hair and makeup done here for my wedding, on a recommendation of a friend and it was awful. The day before my wedding they colored my hair wrong and told me it would look ok when it was in an updo. Wrong! Plus I paid an extra $250 for it. I should have trusted my gut feeling and and dyed it back to its original color but didn't. Also the updo was a disaster! I was so upset but my wedding was starting in less then 2 hours and I couldn't do anything about it. I'm figuring they didn't care or got tired by the time they got to me cause they had another wedding client before me that they apparently started at 5 in the morning on her. Still no excuses. Makeup was ok. Just ok. Oh and when I asked what about my tiara I think it was sayuri sighed and rolled her eyes and literally just put it on top of my head not securing it. When I went for the consultation when I was deciding if I was going to go with them weeks before sayuri said don't worry about the tiara let us deal with that. All she had to do was pin it. Right before the ceremony my tiara fell out and no one knew how to put it properly back on. My bridesmaid put it back on me incorrectly and I didn't know and It looked bad in my pictures cause the parts of the tiara that was suppose to be hidden in my hair wasn't and was showing. I ended up getting my hair redone by another place later, my usual hair dresser who I should have went with in the first place, and retook photos later (my hubby had to rent a tuxedo again for this too which = more money wasted)cause I was so and still upset about it. Also I received a phone call that I didn't tip enough and they wanted at least another $100.00 more. Isn't a tip and how much my choice? And who calls you 30 minutes before your wedding ceremony about this? Plus they charged me more then what they quoted me for their wedding package. I would have given this place zero stars if I could! If you have any special day I would suggest you stay far far FAR AWAY from this place! read more
