So, my brother who for some reason has wanted me to get a piece of real estate for the last several years has finally convinced me that now is the time to get a little somethin' somethin' for myself. Moreover, the way the housing market is right now, I could probably get back to the otherside of the hill. My brother recommended Karen at RE Loan and let me tell you, nothing is scarier than having a complete stranger checking out your credit score and poking through your personal finances. Thankfully, Karen totally rocked and I immediately felt comfortable in her office. She was thorough and (although I don't want to say it, I will) she "dumbed" down the purchasing a house and getting a loan process. She even included a neat little flow chart! Anyway, fast forward a few months down the road after my initial meeting where she gave me some homework to do (I was trying to get my credit score up just a teensy bit higher) I just met with her yesterday and holy crap!! I can totally afford a house and I was pre-approved right before my eyes. She literally went through the process so I could see that I was approved and I didn't just have to take her word for it. I know for some people that isn't a big deal. Like, I have some friends that are pre-approved for $800,000 with no money down and yada yada yada even when they don't have a job. But for me it was a crazy experience and yes, I'll admit, I became a little teary eyed and sniffly. But Karen was awesome and extremely sweet and I feel secure knowing that she didn't give me a bum deal. I totally recommend her!
