My family was working on a 1031 exchange with a tight timeframe. Our realtor recommended the Peter Barnes team, and we couldn't have been happier. They gave us the kind of time and care that made it feel like we were their only client -- helping us navigate deadlines, paperwork, and questions, always with kind professionalism. Thanks to their help, we secured a beautiful home in a dreamy neighborhood well before our deadline. Holly, Kristen, and Peter were fantastic. Working with the Peter Barnes team truly feels like white-glove service. read more

Peter's team did a great job finding a great deal on a loan and then staying on it through to closing. What else does one want in a lender? I would use them again. read more

My realtor connected me with Peter and his team so--full disclosure--I did not shop around. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't have to as my experience was stellar! I had a funky issue with my loan and they were able to work around it while keeping me well informed throughout. Holly, Gabby, Kristen, and presumably others behinds the scenes were truly great to work with. They were immediately responsive, kept in touch with just the right frequency/detail, and offered truly earnest support the whole time. Peter was also great at checking in and making sure I was all sorted out. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to anyone! Thanks ccm team! read more

It's hard to believe now, but just three and a half weeks ago, I was a naive first-time home buyer, overwhelmed by the fact that my very first offer was accepted. Holly, Peter, Gabby, and Kristen immediately sprung into action, orchestrating an exceptionally smooth 14-day close. Throughout this inherently stressful process, the team was remarkably responsive -- working closely with my fantastic agent, checking in constantly, and always available via email, text, or phone to provide detailed answers and assuage my anxieties. More than just professionals, they are kind, patient, gracious, and genuinely a pleasure to work with. I couldn't have asked for a better team in my corner. Thank you all! read more

Just partnered with Peter and team on my dream home and they're still absolutely incredible. Everyone on this team is highly responsive, thoughtful, and hyper organized. Holly and Lili answered or returned my calls within minutes. This makes ALL the difference when you're trying to move fast in a competitive market to seal the deal! The team executed my pre-approval and full loan funding process speedily -- thanks to their streamlined work I was well-positioned to make a strong offer with a very short close when my dream home came along. I am so happy that we worked with Peter, Holly and their wonderful team to finance our first home purchase. I talked to a number of brokers and what set them apart was the personal attention we received, their local expertise in the notoriously challenging Bay Area real estate market, and their ability to be more flexible on financing options than the large banks we talked to. When I first reached out, Peter got on the phone with me immediately and walked me through the process and also explained how his team would help us bid competitively for a home in the daunting Bay Area market. Then I worked closely with Holly to get us pre-approved and price our offers before submitting bids. Their customer service was unmatched and I was able to get a hold of them quickly when we were anxious to put together a bid or had questions we needed answered. When we successfully bid on the house that became our new home, Holly worked with me tirelessly to get everything ready for a smooth close. She was so proactive and we had literally a dozen phone conversations within a 24 hour period as she helped us lock down a rate that was favorable in a time where interest rates were increasing rapidly, sometimes jumping from one hour to the next. Every minute counted and Holly made sure we got the best rate possible. On the day of closing, Peter and my real estate agent were grabbing lunch and they called me together to tell me the good news that everything was finalized and we now owned our first home! Afterward I had some issues getting a refund from the FAIR plan that was accidentally double charged during closing, and Holly went out of her way to help me recover the funds and kept following up until I got the refund check. This is a company that truly cares about their customers. I am so grateful we have them in our corner and highly recommend working with the Barnes team! read more

Can't say enough good things about Peter, Holly, and the entire team. Peter came through for me after the loan officer at a "traditional" bank realized they gave me the wrong underwriting terms - after we had already submitted an offer! They took what was for me an incredibly stressful situation and helped me feel confident that they'd be able to put together a package on the terms we were looking for, and they did so incredibly quickly. Great communication throughout, helped address issues (and answer all my questions) that came up super fast, and provided great recommendations for other services we needed (e.g. home insurance). From the front office to the back office it was truly a pleasure working with Peter and the team - you can't go wrong. read more

Holly and Peter are best dynamic duo to team with if your looking for a home. Holly is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Look no further if your reading this review! I have talked to so many mortgage advisors and none of them were as great, patient, intelligent, and knowledgeable about all the products out there to close on your dream home as Holly was. Holly and Peter are the best advisors you want to work with. Trust me when I tell you, they won't let you down. I was able to purchase my dream home for my family thanks to Holly. She did everything in her power to make sure our home purchase closed on time. My family and I couldn't be more happier! Huge thanks to Holly. Thank you Holly for everything you have done for me and my family! You were wonderful to work with you. We are no longer paying our hard working money to pay off someone else mortgage. We are now paying towards our best investment, our Dream Home! Thanks again Holly! read more

Peter and the team are wonderful to work with. They were knowledgeable, organized, and just generally lovely people. We were able to close incredibly quickly (which is an expectation in the competitive Bay Area real estate market), and they made the process as painless as a mortgage can be. They are also knowledgeable about the quirks of the Bay Area market in a way a national bank won't be, which pays off when you're writing an offer. You won't regret working with them! read more

My real estate agent has worked with Peter for years and I've called him a few times to talk about mortgages, but have never gotten to work with him on one until this year when he and Holly helped me purchase a home before I sold the home I was living in. They got the pre-approvals out fast, helped me secure a bridge loan, walked me through my myriad questions, and he and his whole team are easy and pleasant to work with. Peter has always been a great resource. Even when I've had to go with a different mortgage lender for past purchases, he's always been there to respond to my questions and help me out whether I secure my mortgage through him or not. read more

We were first time home buyers with a lot of questions and a complicated financial/job situation. Peter, Holly, and the rest of the team were incredibly helpful walking us through the whole process and making sure everything was ready, so when we put in an offer we could move quickly. Peter was super responsive and helped answer all our questions. He and his team were so organized and able to provide us real time updates based on our expected home cost. His team is very professional and kept us apprised with everything that was happening during our escrow. As they promised, we had a super short escrow and that got us to our dream home! Thanks, Peter and team! read more

Peter and his team made the purchase of our first home smooth as butter. From the initial call where Peter walked us through the whole process and helped us understand what we should expect, right up to the day that we closed and got our keys, we had no surprises or snags. We got our loan preapproval really quickly so that we actually went from "hmm, should we look at buying a house?" to putting in an offer in under two weeks. And then were able to close and move in, in 20 days. Starting from not even knowing if we could afford to think about buying a house to our actual moving day was less than a month, and Peter and team were a huge part of that. They went out of their way to get us a good interest rate even as market volatility and rising interest rates were making the idea of buying a dicey prospect. I'd highly recommend Peter and his team for anyone looking for a mortgage or refinance. They're great. read more

Holly, as well as Peter and the rest of the team, were _fantastic_ to work with in my journey to buy my very first house. Holly got me the best rate, even in this particular market, and was willing to walk me through every single step of the process and answer all of my frantic questions. Having the pre-approval made bidding for our house SO much easier, and we were able to get the home of my dreams. - Modern application process - using Docusign, secure file sharing/sending, made sending all my paperwork so so simple. - they were able to close in _14_ days. That's apparently amazing. I can't tell you how glad I was that we didnt have to wait for a month or longer! - Holly! During the last 60 days, I've been working really close with CCM as I embarked on my first-time home-buying journey. Spoiler Alert: we got the house!! I worked with Holly who was really knowledgeable about the lending process and constantly went out of her way to check in, verify information, and be a helpful resource. The top 3 things that stood out to me from Cross Country Mortgage: #1 the man Peter Barnes himself went out of his way on numerous occasions to check-in with me, help answer an questions and served as an extra resource throughout the process. A brilliant guy who instilled a lot of confidence in my lending process. #2 they closed in 21 days!! their ability to close faster than the competition I believe was the sole reason our bid was finally won in the end. #3 Modern application process via Docusign, secured File sending, Application Dashboard...all of this made uploading docs and sending info a breeze. Thanks again to the CCM team!! Very grateful. read more

Over the years I think I've signed over two dozen loans on primary homes, rental properties and vacation homes, doing my last few with Peter, Holly, Gabby and team. They are simply THE best. Responsive, knowledgeable, creative and a sense of urgency. Most recently they closed a loan for me on an unimaginable 15-day timeline. Certainly can't guarantee they can turn around every loan in that timeframe, but I can guarantee that no one else could have done my loan in 15 days. I would especially recommend Peter and team if your underwriting is more complex and requires more expertise, such as in the case of K-1 income, rental properties and business entities.
