Alright all the barbers and stylists I have ever seen over the years (easily over 50 different…read morepeople) are nice and good people. But none of them could handle my nasty cowlick. Their solution was to leave my hair long on the back of my head, which admittedly keeps it from sticking straight up off the back of my head, which is nice. But as a result, I always had a lump of hair on the back of my head, which made my head the shape of a shoebox. I told Luis at Barbary Coast Barber Shop the exact same thing I've told all of the previous 50 very nice, good people who cut my hair: "I've got a nasty cowlick that makes my hair stick up". Luis said "oh you don't want that?". I might have laughed "no." He said "ok I'll take care of it". I thought: I've heard that one before . . . but its cool, everyone has a flaw, I've got a shoebox for a head, nothing I haven't learned to live with. Not anymore. Seriously people are like "what's different?". I say I got a haircut, but there like "huuummmm, yeah but there's something else....." I say "Thanks!" but what I'm thinking is: YEAH, MY HEAD IS ROUND NOW INTEAD OF SHAPED LIKE A F***** shoe box!!! Thank you LUIS!!

If I could give a ZERO stars, I would. I got my haircut by the barber Mr. Krispy for the first time…read more3 weeks ago & that haircut took a long time bec he stated it was better to only cut a little off at a time & get the cut exactly right. So not too short-- which I was adamant about. I agreed and was happier with the end result. But he taxed on added charges I was never told beforehand about causing the cut to be $10 more than we discussed when I booked. This time after I mentioned the overcharge, he gaslit me. And then proceeded to cut my hair all off. I was explicit about only wanting a little taken down and a taper above my ear to touch up the last cut. I DID NOT want my cut as low as the first time. He purposefully cut my hair lower! He cut the dye out of my hair, it's so short. I left the shop crying. My maternity photoshoot is in a couple weeks & he ruined my hair. Hopefully it grows back in time for me to redye it. I'll never go back.

We recently took our 2.5 year old for his first cut and Ronnie was the best. He worked with our squirmy toddler with quick precision. He was patient and so sweet. My son had beautiful long curly locks and we said we want it out of his face, trimmed and shaped but still have those curls and that's exactly what we got. This place is popular since they do a great job and it's approximately $25-$30 for adults and $15-20 for kids. I'd call and confirm pricing if that's an issue. Scheduling can be tough, but my husband says he can usually get an appointment within a few days of calling, but you do have to be flexible with times. The place was getting new floors when I was there, so a little under construction, but they were bumping beats and each station had a mini flatscreen playing ESPN. They gave our son a lollipop at the end and were so honored to be his first haircut. Thanks Ronnie, Emmett will be back soon!
