Awful customer service. God help you're there ‼within business hours‼ and they feel like leaving early on a whim, they'll Literally shut the lights off of most the store so that you can't see while you're browsing. No warning. No reason given unless you go out of your way to ask. Not even close to closing time. Don't know why I've gone back as many times as I have, it keeps happening. Shut this place down or get new employees in there that respect and understand customer care. read more

This is not your average Thrift Store. You have obviously not been to Salvation Army lately! It is a totally different store under the management of Greg! He has rearranged the store, gets rid of the junk has all new stuff, runs flash sales, 25% off for Seniors on Wednesdays and and 25% off new stuff on the last Wednesday of the month. Every Saturday is 50% of all tags except new unless he calls a sale. They do away with the broken junk and he buys pallets of new stuff plus donations. Don't give up on Salvation Army - they have plenty to offer and if you have an issue ask For Greg! He will always work with you. If you have a problem with something you bought, like it does not work - bring it back within a day or two and he will help you. Honestly, he is a good guy - working hard to make Sal Val a better place. I have bought so much junk @ halo with no recourse!!! Goodwill is a "For Profit" Thrift Store - remember that when you donate! And they sell dirty, filthy stuff and their store is disgusting!!!! They get donations because of their location and only that! Their prices are high and they are overrated! I went there today for a event sponsored by Purdue for giving out food and they had literally an entire wall of cases of food and other people were walking out with grocery carts of food and when I went in they refused to give me food for me an my baby granddaughter. She said I had to be on a list to have food. This is the Salvation Army, apparently would rather store food in a warehouse then help a starving family made to beg for food and it was very embarrassing. I guarantee you someone on that list cancelled and she could have made an exception. The woman was unprofessional, uncaring and I'm sure her family ate good tonight. I shop the local thrift stores quite regularly, this Salvation Army store by far is dirty, pricing on some of the stuff is too expensive. You never see any associates around except at the register. They do generally have sales quite often attached to the inside door. Like 50%off furniture or back room, to brick a brak, the books have been 5 cents forever but they are so trashy that section needs to be cleaned up and some books need to be thrown away. I have noticed they try and sell stuff broke, stained, damaged and just all around poor stuff. I have also heard very often that the associates take things they want and then put the rest on the floor. There are much better thrift stores to shop at. The thrift store is under new management and prices are now comparable to others in the area(halo, goodwill). Staff are friendly, new items are for sale every day. You can donate furniture, clothes, or stuff around the house and they'll turn it around to help people in need. It was an enjoyable visit. This location has a youth club with 2 gyms, a senior program, pickle ball, basketball, football, cheerleading, & after school programs. There's also a church & social services office where you can get pantry food or help with your utilities. The Salvation Army does great work in the community and has for years. I would highly recommend people to go check it out. read more

This place is a dump. The furniture looks like it barely survived an eviction and the prices they got marked on it are just insane! Well over $100 for a worn out table? Craziness. The men's clothing is all outdated stuff (typical of thrift stores though) that would have been better in the hands of those that actually need clothing (homeless people, disaster survivors). I was extremely disappointed with this store. Maybe I was spoiled, but the other Salvation Army stores I've been to, in Nebraska, where much better with higher quality items. read more

I had another bad experience again! I gave the 2 women the benefit of the doubt that they were having a bad day last week. I figured I would try shopping again yesterday and had the same bad experience. I shop there every week religiously and spend at least $100 every time I'm there. I attempted to try on clothes at 4:30 and they close at 5. I asked for them politely if they could unlock the door so I could try on my clothes. The woman told me that the dressing room is closed. I asked her why and she said that they close at 5. I explained to her that it doesn't take a half an hour for me to try on a few things so she rolled her eyes at me and let me eventually after her eventually letting me in. I thanked her and she had no response. Since there was just myself and another woman she announced at least three times that they were closing in 30 minutes, then 20 then 10 and finally in 5. Every week I'm there she always charges me wrong for certain things that I buy and again she did the same thing yesterday. She called another woman over that was the rude one who wouldn't let me in the dressing room originally. She wanted to argue the fact that I had a dress and not a skirt. I explained to her she did the same thing to me last week and she laughed and rolled her eyes at me. Ultimately my issue is I was purchasing a Homedics chair back massager and she put it behind her and threw my things in a bag without even folding them and roll them up in a ball. I paid with my debit card as I do every week and she stared at my license and debit card for atleast 20 seconds as if it wasn't me. I told her she knows by now who I am and walked away. The person in front of me paid with a card and it was a quick 2 second verification and done. I don't know what their issue is with me but I'm tired of being disrespected. If you don't like your job then you don't need to work there. I'm so irritated that someone would be allowed to work there with that type of attitude. I know several people that have stopped shopping there because of the treatment they are receiving. Also the prices have gone up which I don't mind except for if you're going to be rude to me I'm not going to spend my money there to pay for your paycheck. As I was leaving I thanked her which I did not get a response from her and I told her to have a good day which obviously we know how that ended up. Ultimately I will be contacting someone in the main office but I tried to call the store in the middle of the day and there was no answer except for an answering machine that picked up after two rings. I've been trying all day and still the answering machine. I guess they don't answer the phone because they don't want to take the time or effort to pick it up in fear of receiveing complaints about bad treatment. If you want to be treated poorly then I advise you to shop there and spend your money to pay their paycheck otherwise I will send everyone else that I know to Goodwill. They don't even deserve the 1 star rating but no option to give them ZERO stars!! read more

The only good things about this SA location are the parking and the ease to drop off donations. Inside is chaos. They rearranged the store so many times in the last year that everything is just disorganized and dirty. This used to be a good place to get clothing, books and dishes but now it's just junky and overpriced. Rusted cookware, broken lamps, filthy bedspreads and staff that complains constantly. The only pleasant staff are the two guys in the donation area. The last time I visited, the cashier was crouching on the floor behind the register, texting on her phone. People were in line and she's rushing through ringing them up. I know she undercharged me and the customer in front of me because she didn't count the books or clothing items.
