I decided to leave it, and set it back on its shelf. The owner then came over and started scolding me like I was a child for playing the music box. I apologized, but he started yelling at me and continued to follow me and my family through the store and berate us. At one point my mother put her hand slightly up and told him "we get it, we understand," and that is when he started to get aggressive, started yelling even more loudly at us, and he put his hand aggressively in my face. I did not feel safe, and I told him "we are happy to leave" and my family and I left as he continued to become more agitated. It was actually very shocking, uncomfortable, and disappointing. I would not recommend any woman shop in this store, alone or with others, and that any men who respect women not shop here either.

Even better was when I mentioned to him that my children were fascinated by his use of texture, he offered to let them touch a few of his pieces! WHAT!? It felt so wrong but so right. It's like being in your grandma's house. It doesn't look like it of course, it's not a home, but…read moreit has inventory that looks like it could be your grandmas. It's organized, far more so than other stores of its kind. Things are sorted by category, and labeled with prices that are both reasonable and expected. Some items are straight from old, classic diners (plates, salt and pepper shakers and creamers) and others are obviously from well-loved collections. It's the pictures though, from when color film first became mainstream along with old black and white photos where no one smiles, that's a little sad. Maybe the things in this shop belonged to those people, but it's still unfortunate that these unknown people have had their pictures tossed into a basket at an antique store for others to ogle dispassionately. That's weird. Broadwater is still a nicely organized shop with things you expect to find as well as things you don't. With new inventory rotating in, if you see something, don't wait, it may not be there.

This store has ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you could possibly want and/or need for your kitchen. I could have spent forever in the space, there was that much to look at. Their prices were very fair as well. It's so good to shop local, especially now, so I highly recommend you shop here over big box chains. Shop small and support your community. Be sure to hit up the sale section in the back too. I got the cutest holiday themed tea towel that I can't wait to use.

After almost every store in town we didn't expect to find anything the size or quality level we were looking for. No matter, Sydney showed us the Stressless things we can no longer afford and then sent us to the sale room in the back with a suggestion of what we might like. I did get to tell management what we thought of Sydney, but it bears repeating. She is a gem. There is it was, a medium sized, real leather covered, obviously well built sofa on sale at a price we could afford. They had it in stock with or without the sleeper option! The warehouse loaded us up, telling me what would be required to unpack and put the feet on. We are very happy and would buy more if we could. You never know... Some day we might go back for those recliners.
