A 5 star AA pub a couple of miles further back had 'no room at the inn' when we called in for sunday lunch without booking. But not such bad luck after all! We drove on and found a very warm welcome, open fire burning away and we very quickly had in front of us beautiful home cooked roast beef dinners with all the trimmings followed by fruit crumble and custard. Our daughter settled on a home made lasagne then Black Forest gateau. All this for a very reasonable price (much less than down the road!). We've marked it as 'favourite' on our sat nav so we can find it again! Well worth a visit!

The bar staff are friendly with regulars chatting to the staff. The pub was packed on a Saturday afternoon, but we managed to find a nice spot reading the weekend papers.
