There were outside spaces to drink in the pub , clearly a popular place with a cheery crowd . Euro cup was on when we were there and England won at that stage - which added to the cheeriness of the place. The rooms were large with empty spaces . That took away some of the warmth and gave it a quasi modernistic feel . But overall the Hotel had nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helped with the luggage . The continental breakfast(which is included) has many options, the customer service is good and the rooms are clean. One complaint I have is the price they charge for microwave pizza. My wife and I arrived late and with no place open nearby, we had to buy the pizza for over 11 pounds(nearly 15 dollars). I know the UK can be expensive, but $15 for microwave pizza is a little much.

Bathroom looks new and very clean. Overall impressions are that the place is modern and spotlessly clean. Linens were fresh and crisp. Breakfast is a buffet, hot and cold and is adequate to get you out on the go. I didn't try any of the other facilities and it's by the airport so not walking distance to anything that I know but I could be wrong. Recommended if you need a place for a night. Ticks the right boxes

I didn't check out the other hotel (Rok?). I would definitely be happy to stay here again if I had business in the area. Clean, well kept, and the people are friendly. Parking is free and plentiful. If you're able to drive on the left side of the road, it's only a few minutes drive into Exeter proper. Truth be told, I'm better off not driving on the 'wrong' side, so I took the bus most days. The front desk staff steered me wrong on the bus schedule and route numbers, but I have to admit the bus routes are a little confusing. I had to go on trial and error. On the plus side, the buses stop right across the street. This hotel has a bar with some light snacks and provides the typical free breakfast (which is very good!), surprisingly similar to the one you get at Holiday Inn Express hotels in the United States. The only restaurant within walking distance is the Barn Owl, but it is good food.

Staff are friendly and great breakfast included, always well cooked, a good range. One of the nicest b&b's in Exeter. Nice decor in the rooms, modern. All rooms I have stayed in were en suite and with everything you need.
