Not impressed. I became eligible today to receive my fourth dose of a COVID vaccination. I am immunocompromised and the CDC has now approved a booster 5 months out from the third dose. I walked into the Saltzer at 6357 N Fox Run Way in Meridian, Idaho for my first and last time today. They were clueless. To top it off a nurse walked out and proceeded to tell me that was not something they were doing yet as it has not been approved by the CDC. Wrong, it has been approved. She then proceeded to tell me about an article she had read that has shown that additional boosters may be counter effective. I found the article I believe she was referencing in Barron's dated January 13, 2022. It had no data but speculation from an interview done in mid-December 2021 that additional doses were not necessary and possible harmful. The CDC has since approved this additional dose for the immunocompromised due to the Omicron variant running rampant. I went out to my car and made an appointment at Walgreen's who actually has the new CDC recommendation at the top of their page.
First, I believe I need to be able to trust the people who are treating my family and me and second I don't like being treated like I don't know anything. Really, they were the ones in the dark. I went to Walgreen's and got my booster with no problem. You're a medical institution, so you should be aware of the current CDC approvals regarding COVID. First impressions are everything and my first impression has led me to continue using the trusted medical facilities that I have used in the past, Primary Health Urgent Care, St. Alphonsus Urgent Care and AFC Urgent Care on Ustick. read more
