I swear it made me at least a decade younger, just flipping through, admiring the album art, remembering the same album covers I used to see back when I owned a JVC sound system and sang and danced in my room. Great customer service and the selection was awesome. I don't know enough about albums to know whether or not the price was right, but I got two albums that appeared to be in the original packaging, so I am expecting great sounds. Jerk Dog has a mix of new and used records with a smattering of cassettes and CD's (some from local artists) all at fair prices. When I was there they actually had room full of records for a $1 a piece! The folks in front of me left with 4 crates of records. That's a whole collection.... Anyway, Douglas the owner is very cool. The hour or so I was in the shop he spoke to every customer like they were long time locals and regulars. His primary focus is punk but the man knows his stuff on other genres as well... I scored a bunch fun $1 records and some other lp's from the Stones to the Pretenders and of course a Jerk Dog t-shirt! I would definitely recommend stopping in, it sounds like they turn new inventory all the time so you never know what gold you may find!

The shop is tucked away down an alley in the beautiful Bradenton Arts District. Parking was easy despite it being a busy area. I didn't have much time to peruse the store's offerings but I loved the vibe and am looking forward to returning to shop. I didn't have an appointment but was welcomed anyway, I dropped off my records to be assessed and was told I'd hear from the owner. Only a few hours later I got a text from Doug with an offer! So easy and am so glad the records will be rehomed and enjoyed by someone else. Thank you Jerk Dog!

Well I'm breaking that seal. A record vendor in Fort Myers told me about this when I mentioned I was staying in the Punta Gorda area for a few days. It was only fitting I pay a visit to see what's in store. So the store may not be the biggest but the fact they sell records and CDs will light up the bulbs in your shopaholic/music wandering mind. Also you can request records w/ TJ and he'll make a special order for it so it'll be at the store. Just make sure you pick it up. If not it'll just sit there. But that's how I found The Struts' Everybody Wants album just sitting around so that person's loss is my gain! Doubles as a head-shop in addition to records/CDsDVDs so lighters and other accessories are in inventory if that's your thing. Music is my thing which I'm glad they carry. Not the biggest selection but to be in the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area is a positive in my eyes!
