Update to a review I did some years back- there is no update! This record store is still awesome and the owner Jason is still outstanding. He has plenty of inventory and his prices are excellent. Jason does not carry average quality vinyl- all of his records are top quality. He goes through every used album and cleans them and inspects them. Anything sub par winds up in the trash bin. I happened to hear about Revolution Records from a casual conversation and decided to check them out this week while down on vacation visiting family. I must admit that I really do like the store for three main reasons. 1: The selection. While the selection is geared primarily towards rock, there is still a decent mix of other genres as well (I happened to see pop music, soul, a few rap LPs and soundtracks). The prices are very fair and honest for an LP (used or brand new). The shop owner does have a VERY decent section of budget LPs but even for that section, the selection is very missed and I would say that it's worth anyone's time to flip through to discover an album that may be on their want list. I can honestly say that every "type" of collector will find something in his store. 2: The location. In my travels of LP hunting, sometimes record stores can be placed in very awkward locations that truly are out of the way and sometimes offer limited parking. Revolution is located on Cape Coral Parkway right amongst restaurants and shops that are very organic and unique to Cape Coral. 3: The owner (Jason). The final thing that really set this store apart and incredibly wowed me was that the store owner actually took some time out of his day to actually get to know the customer. During that conversation, I could tell that he really loved music and he really loved vinyl. I've been to some record stores where the owners/staff were cold and callous and not welcoming at all leaving me with a "I'll never go back here" feeling. Jason is the complete opposite. He provides a bit of warm home town charm and goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels welcome. I like that. All in all, Revolution Records is a wonderful record shop and every time I'm in town, I'll gladly go there for all my vinyl needs. I recommend that you do the same. read more

This place is excellent! The owner, Jason, is super friendly, helpful with the crate digging, and he keeps a good stock of new, used, and rare/limited press vinyl. I try to stop into the local record stores on any travels; coast to coast and in between, Revolution Records is one of my favorites from across the country. Jason even helped me out packing a couple records to be able to travel in luggage to get them them safely under a stylus at home. As far as I know this is the only record store in Cape Coral, and for my money, it's better than any of the stores in Ft. Myers. It just opened in January 2019. Selection: very well-curated -- the ratio of gems to trash is really high. There's also a discount section where you can get some pretty good records for 2 or 3 dollars (these ones were more in G to G+ condition). The overall selection leans towards 80s/90s alternative, but there's also a pretty good selection of classic rock and soul. There's also a section for new, sealed releases. Pricing: prices for used records in VG to VG+ condition was pretty reasonable, but oddly uniform: too low for the rare stuff and too high for the common stuff. This means you might get a steal on a mint copy of Aladdin Sane, but balk at paying the same price for some random Loggins & Messina record. Finally, Jason, the owner, is super friendly, and this is obviously a passion project for him. read more

This recoded shop is NOT closed!!!! I repeat, NOT CLOSED! Owner was outstanding! My girlfriend and I visited from Indiana and were happy to find out that they were still in business. They have a great selection and we were able to find some great records to add to our collection! If you want to visit a record shop in the Cape Coral/ Ft Myers area I recommend this store! We love good quality vinyl and have visited "used record stores" in DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Orlando. This one is not the largest, though I expect it to grow, but it has as good a quality of vinyl as any we have visited. The owner is very knowledgeable and personable, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. read more
