Been a couple of times to this place, only today we had food. All lunchtime meals are cheap with daily specials; I had braised steak with veg (£2.95) and my colleague had the faggots & chips (£2.65). Not the biggest of meals but ok for lunchtime and the low cost anyway. No complaints about the faggots - although part of my steak was a bit tough and could have done with more cooking.
Other meals included; cottage pie, liver & onions (just £1.95) plus puddings too. Also, lovely "Butty Bach" real ale served too.
The evening meals look good value too with mixed grills and steaks all under £10.00. Well worth a visit. The pub is up a small narrow lane off Saltwells Road by some traffic lights. You can also park by the pub to access the saltwells nature reserve. read more
