My first visit to have my lovely greyhounds nasty breath taken care of via a teeth cleaning which…read morerequires anesthesia for my breed. They had a detailed breakdown of the projected expense as well as costs for any potential extras like extractions, so no surprises! Price very competitive, service down home friendly by knowledgeable, attentive & caring staff and vet, and best of all lil Ms Houndy's breath is now wonderfully not-nasty for those many unexpected big slobbering kisses to the face that I tolerate daily! Until next time my new Vet home! - this is a follow-up to prior post. Made a reservation at Red Dog kennel for July 3-8 and I show up and they tell me my dog's shot records are up to date except Bordetella expired - I didn't know it was one year and I was at 14 months - would've been nice had Red Dog told me when booking since they have all their records though I should've known too. I needed to be at a work meeting then drive to DC for July 4th so not happy but Baker House saves the day! They said no problem I got there, shot is just oral solution got back to Red Dog, had inconvenienced many by moving appointment back, then Red Dog says "her diphtheria shot is out of date", I said WHAT!!!! Why didn't you say this an hour ago! I had my folder of "every" vet record, gave to Red Dog, not in there. Dang! Called back to Baker and they said let us check first before you come here. Turns out there was a diphtheria shot which was still current and because they saved me the drive back there, another shot, then back to Red Dog, Baker saves the day, again! They saved the day twice in one day!!! That's amazing!! Thank you Baker House!!! Oh, yes, I was late but still made my rescheduled meeting and arrived after long car ride in DC at midnight but would've been later if not for Baker!! Red Dog On The other hand, I could've missed a flight if I was flying and your disorganized, discourteous and messier than dog poo!!

I have been bringing our dog to Baker House Animal Hospital for 10 years where she received her…read morevaccinations and annual check. We recently had concerns about our dog's behavior, being lethargic, not eating, or drinking, and urinating excessively. When I called to get an appointment, I was told the vet doesn't see people after 2 although the business hours say open until 6. I was never directed to another vet office to call to get help. I was able to be seen the next day where they took a blood and urine test. The blood test came back with extremely elevated liver numbers which can turn to life threatening. The vet's recommendation was to get 24 hour care ($3500) from an emergency vet hospital, an ultrasound ($1000), and a biopsy to determine if she had cancer. I ended up getting a second opinion at another animal hospital where they were able to do an X-Ray for $200 and determine my dog has cancer in her liver. It has spread throughout her body and to her lungs. We were able to get a steroid shot to keep her comfortable and make a decision when we're ready. I am so happy that we got a second opinion and were able to save thousands of dollars.
