But RI charges a title transfer tax and I was responsible for that. I believe the tax incurred was a result of the closing, therefore it's part of the "closing costs". I did sign a purchase agreement that clearly stated "Tax Stamps" not included. So a misunderstanding on my part, but still unexpected. Otherwise, I paid for nothing else and all went smoothly. The best part was that I was able to leave behind anything that I didn't want. My last suggestion would be to shop around for other real estate investors who might be interested In your property. You may get a better offer.
