Seeing all of the negative reviews on here, I really didn't want to deal with Samson Realty, but…read moresince the majority of the properties that were within my price range and in the area I wanted were advertised by them, I decided to give them a shot. I had a pleasant experience with them. I dealt with both Jefrey and Irene, and I was happy with the customer service from both of them. I called about a property I had seen on Craigslist (yes, they do spam Craigslist - that much is true) - which was rented, but Jefrey offered to show me another property that met all of my requirements. I decided during the tour I would take the apartment, and I filled out the application and gave her both the application fee and the security deposit. A couple of days later Irene called me to say that my application had been approved, and that I should stop by to sign the lease. When I did, she went over everything with me, including all of my questions regarding pets. I had first asked about having two cats instead of one, and she said she would ask the landlord and get back to me. She didn't get back to me about it, but I decided I could only afford one cat, so I didn't matter in the end. She also suggested that I set up my electricity and internet early so that I would have them when I moved in. I had trouble setting the electricity up, since the electric company had my apartment labeled differently than the actual address of my apartment, I had trouble setting it up. I had to call back and forth between the electric company and Samson Realty a couple of times, but Samson Realty was very helpful in getting me the information I needed. I picked up my keys and moved in the other day. It remains to be seen how many problems I have with the apartment (things falling apart, etc.) but so far I'm happy with it considering my low budget AND it does fit all of my requirements. I was already familiar with the neighborhood before I moved in, so I know for a fact it's a relatively nice part of town. I had no problems with customer service, there was prompt kindly communication. Samson Realty seems to be hit or miss judging by these reviews, but I had a positive experience with them - maybe you will too.

Whenever something came up, it was handled quickly and professionally. Early in my tenancy, I noticed mold in the refrigerator's water dispenser, and they replaced the refrigerator almost immediately. When the old stove and cooktop stopped working properly, they replaced the full range with a brand-new, very nice appliance. When the water heater broke a few months later, that was also replaced practically right away. The maintenance staff were always kind, helpful, thorough, and respectful. I never felt like I had to chase anyone down or fight to get a necessary repair completed. One of the best examples of their reliability happened during a major snowstorm. The roads were barely passable, but I woke up one morning to find that my driveway was the only one in the neighborhood that had been plowed. My neighbors were genuinely asking how RentProv had managed to get it done. I eventually purchased the house I was renting, and they continued maintaining the property and responding to issues through my final days as a tenant. They never started doing the bare minimum just because I was about to close. Shannon, in particular, was wonderful--professional, thoughtful, organized, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was handled well. I can only speak to my own experience, but mine was consistently excellent from beginning to end.

I'm a combat veteran with ptsd. I have a medical marijuana card and grow my own medicine. the owner of the building I was renting was fine with it, as it was completely legal. Rent Prov called the police on us, who showed up and told them that I wasn't breaking any laws. They then tried to evict us, even though the owner told us it was okay since the police made it clear it was all on the level. I should also include some pertinents: no one else lived in the building except my mother who rented the floor below us. there are only two units. literally no one complained. also, when they couldn't get in touch with me because it was Friday night at 9pm, they began harassing my elderly mother (who again, rents a separate apartment and has nothing to do with my LEGAL medical marijuana. Lawyered up and they backed down like the unprofessional losers they are. we broke our lease early to get away from these incompetent morons. do yourself a favor, avoid at all costs. the lawyer was provided to me by a veterans organization free of charge. he looked into Brian Weinstein at rent prov and apparently he is WELL known in the legal community as a royal POS.

I would strongly recommend NOT renting from Strive, also known as Latch Realty. I lived in one of…read moretheir properties for a little over two years and by the end, I was beyond frustrated with the lack of communication and maintenance. When I first moved in, the apartment was absolutely filthy and I spent almost a week cleaning it myself. There was dried dog pee on the walls/baseboards, two broken blinds, broken glass in the dishwasher, mold in the fridge and washing machine, rolled blunts left in the kitchen cabinets, a hole punched in the pantry door, and the HVAC filter was literally black with about half an inch of dust and debris on it. The property also had an ongoing rat problem that neighboring tenants on the same property told me had been an issue for years. The AC was probably my biggest issue. It had problems basically the entire time I lived there and was never permanently fixed. I discovered the AC didn't work just two weeks into my tenancy and was given the runaround when I requested immediate assistance getting it repaired. During one heat wave, my apartment got up to 93°F inside and I had dogs living with me, including my allergen detection service dog. I had to call out of work and buy my own window unit because I was concerned about the heat becoming unsafe for me and my dogs. Strive also declined my request for reimbursement for the window unit while I was waiting for them to address the AC. Communication with Strive was horrendous and continued to go downhill throughout my tenancy. Despite reaching out multiple times, I would receive intermittent communication from Jen, the office manager, and Brian with maintenance. I was given the runaround several times, especially with the broken AC. After Zef, their old maintenance guy, left the company, maintenance went completely downhill. Zef was honestly great and clearly kept things afloat. He communicated, showed up, and actually fixed things in a timely manner. After he left, I regularly had maintenance requests go unanswered or unresolved, and getting anyone to communicate with me was incredibly frustrating. The part that really got me was when I moved out. After being handed a filthy apartment when I moved in, I made sure to deep clean everything before I left. They still took $100 out of my security deposit for a generic "cleaning fee" and never explained what supposedly needed to be cleaned. Getting my security deposit back was another headache. I surrendered the apartment and provided my forwarding address on July 20th. By August 14th, I still hadn't received my deposit or an itemized list of deductions, so I contacted Strive. They apologized for the delay and told me the check would be prepared and mailed. When I finally received it, the paperwork stated that it had been mailed on July 28th, but the envelope was postmarked August 15th. Make of that what you will. Also, beware of the steep rent increases. They tried to raise my rent by $300/month upon the second renewal of my lease, but I decided to move instead. After I moved out, the unit was listed for $400/month more than I had been paying. In my opinion, that property is nowhere near worth $2,200/month, especially with the ongoing AC and maintenance issues. By the end of my tenancy, it felt like maximizing profit via rent mattered more than actually maintaining the property. After two years of dealing with them, I would never rent from Strive again. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

I would not recommend renting through Strive Realty. In my experience, the company seemed more…read morefocused on collecting rent than taking care of its tenants. Maintenance requests were repeatedly marked as "completed" online even though the issues were never actually fixed. The property had ongoing problems with rodents and other maintenance concerns, making it extremely stressful to live there. Much of the work done inside the apartment felt rushed and cheaply done. To make matters worse, getting your security deposit back can be a challenge. I felt like my concerns were ignored throughout my tenancy, and there was very little genuine care for the people living in their properties. Save yourself the time, stress, and money and look elsewhere. Unfortunately, my experience with Strive Realty was incredibly disappointing.

Zero stars for the unreliable, untrustworthy, and and insensitive Jillian Siqueland. We have worked with Kevin for a few years - and have been nothing but pleased. Jillian, couldn't be more opposite if she tried. After viewing her apartment, we knew we wanted it. We filled out the appropriate background checks, and placed a security deposit. While we could not sign the lease right away, we needed to wait a few weeks for the closing of our home we just sold, we did tell her that we wanted this property. We requested that she call us as soon as another potential renter entered the equation. We continued to visit the property, on three separate occasions, took measurements, and began planning for our new home. Jillian was away at one point, and we spoke with her coworker, assuring him that we wanted this property, too. After not hearing from Jillian for 8 days, we reached back out to confirm our impending sale - and intent to sign a lease within the next couple of days. Jillian coldly let us know that the property had actually been rented to someone else. Despite our agreement to inform us that another renter was interested, instead of calling - as we agreed- Jillian just rented it! I spoke with her in person, and asked why she would go back on her word. Why my deposit meant nothing - not even the ability to have a phone call. I told her that I felt like the rug had been ripped right under us. Jillian, calmly said that this is how she conducts her business. That she had sent an email two days prior asking if we would pay $50 more a month. I told her no such email had been received, and that people who are interested in properties will always respond to their agents. I told her we were going to sign the lease if anyone else even thought about renting it. There had been no doubt in our minds. Come to find out - Jillian sent the email - to an incorrect email address. I found this out through the manager, Ed hardy, who read the email to me. In it was no mention of another renter - and the closing even said "I will call you if someone else rents!" Obviously she never intended to call, nor follow up- and as I said earlier- we didn't even get this email because the address was misspelled. She handed me back my useless deposit check. Jillian said that she was sorry - because this must be "a big pain in the ass." Yes Jillian - it is. And now, it's yours. Never, ever, ever ever work with this wretchedly cold, and useless woman.

Our realtor both times was Ellen Kasle, and she was professional, friendly, honest helpful and kind in every respect. Being first-time buyers and sellers, I felt Ellen was always working in our best interest and made transparence a priority. She helped us prepare the house for selling, gently and honestly told us what needed doing and what not to worry about, and helped us through what was both emotional and exciting with grace and kindness. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Residential Properties of Ellen again -- they're so well-educated, very responsive and total professionals.
