Burnt food, terrible, RUDE service and overpriced. I told the lady (manager) I wasn't going to pay for my Chimichanga my mother-in-law ordered as it was over cooked. She took one bite and said "no way" it tastes burnt. I ended up not paying for it. A large table came in after us, got served their food before us. I was told they were a larger check. Huh?? I spent most of my adult life working in restaurants, running restaurants and as an executive chef. I know what it takes to have a fine establishment. They aren't even close. Place is cute and staff is so nice. Chips, drinks, and salsa were very good. I got the enchiladas which were a little small, but still good!

This place is absolutely disgusting and has the worst service of any restaurant in the area. First off this is supposed to be a ground beef chalupa. After a couple bites I noticed that there was nothing but beans, lettuce and cheese in there. I figured I'd call to see if there was something they could do to make it right. The lady that picked up the phone just keeps telling me that there is definitely ground beef in there it's just under the beans and people are mistaken all the time. I tell her no there is absolutely no ground beef as I have no picked the chalupa completely over at this point and I know what ground beef looks and tastes like. She proceeds to tell me I'm wrong and I ask if there anything we can do as I'm not mistaken and she hangs up on me. The other dish I ordered was way overdone and had this nasty fake tasting sauce on top. I didn't bother Needless to say I will not be returning to this very sorry excuse for a restaurant and even sorrier excuse for guest service. read more

I took my daughter & granddaughter to dinner tonight and needless to say the entire experience was terrible! The hostess was great but the waitress & food was less than desirable. Shortly after ordering we were told they ran out of rice but they'd add an extra helping of beans. Since we had already ordered & were hungry we agreed. Our plates came out with a normal helping of beans (should I say a very, very small helping) and we ordered ground beef which isn't what was served. Our waitress never came over for us to tell her our order was wrong (she was occupied with her face focused on her phone). We went ahead & ate our food because nobody came around to check on us. When we finished & went up to pay I told the waitress the error, she rudely said "you should've said something earlier so now it's still the same price & we don't care if you're satisfied or not." I explained that if she had checked on her tables we would have, she laughed & said "I was very busy" then repeated the total to me. I voiced she needs to look into a different profession because she's extremely rude & I won't ever come back. She again laughed & said "we don't care if you come back or not." I in fact will NEVER go back there & I will advise everyone else to save yourself the disappointment & go anywhere but this establishment. read more

My mom and I went here to eat for lunch, they didn't ask us for a choice of type of shell for tacos so we expected soft shell and got hard shell. Meat had no flavor to it. We were the only ones there and the staff just sat at a table together on their phones. One of them made a call and was loud. A to go cup is .80 cents if you want to bring your drink home. 8 dollars for 8 slices of avocado... Ridiculous. Not going back again. read more

Mixed satisfaction eating here. The Pollo a la Crema was good if you like cream based dishes. But the tamales are much more masa than meat, which I had a hard time finding and do not come with a corn husk wrap. The chili relleno was really different. Some sort of egg envelope with a green chile inside. It wasn't very tasty and I wouldn't call it a relleno. Soft drinks are a stiff $3.55, approaching the cost of a beer. The rice is slightly seasoned and fluffy but the beans are too salty. The fresh salsa is spicy and good. And the coleslaw is surprisingly good; not out of balance, mild, and tasty. Our server was excellent, even with a high table load. But beware: they normally only have one server, one busser, and one salsa server. read more

The food was all great and the service was good until I decided to try fried ice cream for the first time there at salsa grill , took a bite got about 5 bites in and got a goat head in my mouth !! I showed the server and they treated me like I was a liar and said they didn't come from their kitchen and then to top it off they made me pay for the whole thing. They said I'm not calling you a liar it just didn't come from our kitchen and I said do I cough up goat heads and she shrugged her shoulders at me !! horrible place will never go again !! Very disappointed with this restaurant. After having a bad experience twice before they were closed for a couple months, I figured I would give them another try to be fair. The service was good, the food however not so much. I thought the Chili Rellino was the weakest I have had, anywhere. The tamale was an imposter. The salsa is definitely not as good as before. The value for the money is terrible. I wish the circumstances were different, because the Owner is a nice fellow. read more

Stopped in on Labor Day only to find out that you have continued the poor idea of charging for salsa. You are the only place in the area that does this. I also ordered the two relleno combo after asking about the special Mexican relleno and was told by your wait staff that you don't have them anymore. The little piece of pepper inside over cooked egg was not the best. Rice had no flavor but the beans rocked. I hate to say it but fiesta Guadalajara with remain my place of choice. We've been eating 2-3 times a year for years (before you moved to Payette) the food is great, but for the last year the wait staff has grown increasingly RUDE! We Always tip 25% or more no matter what, today we walked out before we were even seated. We will not be back. Absolute horrible service and mediocre food. We had my nieces baby with us at dinner. The advertised closing time is 8pm, the owner locked the door at 7:45pm. My niece arrived at 7:50 and the owner refused to let her in to get her baby. So my wife opened the door and let my niece and nephew in. The owner then refused to let my nephew use the restroom. We are very lucky to have such an authentic Mexican restaurant so close to home. Family run very clean inside everyone is so pleasant . Food is excellent no matter what you order you can't go wrong. Probably the worse service I've ever received. They didn't even try to hide the fact that they prefer customers of their own ethnicity. When we were served, the amount of food was not equal to the prices they are asking, and they didn't bring flatware until we asked twice. Asked 3 times for salsa which we never did get, although as we were leaving I saw Latino customers with 2 and 3 bowls of salsa on their tables...they also charge extra if you want Verde sauce instead of Ranchero on your meal. read more

Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant. The chips are hot and fresh with delicious salsa, hot refried beans, and a citrusy mushroom dip for starters. My husband had a shrimp cocktail full of large shrimp, tomato, onion, avocado, and cilantro...served with crackers and lime quarters. Delicious! I had the Enchiladas Del Mar. Corn tortillas filled with crab, shrimp, onion, tomato, and mushrooms covered with an herbed cream sauce on top and sides of rice and beans. Simply marvelous!! The service is top notch! I love this restaurant! I can call in my order ahead of time as I only have an hour lunch break. They always have it ready for me when I get there, and the atmosphere is just great!
