I contacted Sal's office through yelpon a Sunday. Monique and Sal responded imkediately. Sal came the next day gave us an estimate and started painting Tuesday. Daniel and the crew were very professional moved furniture and started preping and painting. They did four rooms top to bottom! I can"t say enough great things about there quality service! Sal's came to my apartment complex to repaint the outside and I was very disappointed with their service. First off they came after the date they were scheduled (for which I had moved all items out of the way). They then got paint all over my hose on the patio and worse, broke a very unique pot I can't just go buy again. They tried to hide the items they damaged and did not leave a note nor tell the onsite manager. When I contacted Sal's I was told they would remedy the situation the next day. It's two days later and they have not done anything. Very unprofessional and the paint job isn't great. There are paint drops on my patio and over spray on numerous walls. The simple courtesy of leaving a note to acknowledge the damaged items and making the effort to replace or pay for the items would have gone a long way. I do not recommend Sal's. read more

Over 5 stars! 2 man Team arrived promptly at 0800, also with Monique. They did an outstanding job on my kitchen ceiling, that had 2 areas where electrical work was done (light fixture taken down and recessed lighting put in). ( 2 areas patched up and other screws taken out). Also ceiling fans put in one room and 2 holes/repairs had to be done. All the work done was very professional, they both seemed to "tag team" with not much talking...went right to work, very organized. All work was done within 7 hours (was supposed to take 2 days). I hired Sal's Painting to do an entire interior repainting of my two-story, cathedral-ceilinged condo. The interior was heavily nicotine-stained, and because of that and the high ceilings, I realized there was no way I could ever repaint it myself. Sal was very responsive and came over three times to inspect the house, offer suggestions, and estimate the job. His price was extremely fair and right in line with my budget. His assistants Antonio and Angel completed the job last week, to my complete satisfaction. It took nearly five full days for them to finish. Antonio and Angel showed up promptly every morning and worked very diligently each day. I was amazed at the way they were able to work around the heavy furniture and chotchkies throughout the house, and how much they were able to get done every day! They moved all the furniture to the center of the room, then back after they painted the walls. They also painted the doors, the fireplace mantle, the air conditioner grates, the stairway kickplates, under the stairs, and even behind the stove and refrigerator! Seriously Daniel who worked with us did an excellent job to say the least. During the painting process we pointed things out that we wanted, and he took care of it with no problem. I wish we had Sal's service 30 years ago. They went above and beyond. You should see the exterior of our house now compared to the way it used to look. Sal's made it look rich and for the best price. I reached out to 6 other painters and Sal's is the best. Your paying too much if you go any were else. Nobody else will do it better, quality is top, and the price is best. The overall paint job turned out relatively well but there were some issues. Daniel was consistently unreliable, not showing up when stated on multiple occasions and canceling last minute. They painted my closet with rancid paint. I did provide the paint that had been sitting in storage, but I'd expect a painter to know the paint was rancid when they opened it and let me know; I could smell it when I opened the container to do touch up. The smell just wouldn't go away, despite Daniel telling me that it would. I later had to repaint the closet myself with Kilz. read more

My wife and I are retired senior citizens and recently needed someone to handle a complete interior paint job on our new house. We needed it done quickly as we had a few glitches in our escrows. I called several companies only to get busy signals or directed to voice mails. Then, I called Sal's and his office manager answered. I explained my situation and she said, hold on a sec. I did and Sal himself came on the line and asked what I needed. That told me he was concerned. I gave him a brief on my situation and he said, let me call you right back. He called back within 5 minutes and told me he spoke to 2 of his men and that they could be at the house at 9am the next day. Now mind you, this is the Friday right after Christmas. He met my daughter at the house at 9am, she let them in and she went back home. Sal told her he would make sure what absolutely had to be done by the time the movers got there at 11am Saturday would be done. I got to the house at about 10:30 am Sat morning and met Juan, one of the painters, for the 1st time. He was very busy getting things ready for the movers but he had time to show me what they'd already done and to my surprise, most of the House was finished. Wow, in one day Juan, Daniel and Sal worked as a team and did a fantastic job. I couldn't believe they got so much done in so little time. Later on Saturday, I met Daniel. Daniel came to do some quick touch up before he was satisfied with the GREAT job they already did. Both Juan and Daniel came at 8am Monday to finish the kitchen and the 2 bathrooms and to paint the woodwork. They thought it better to leave that until last because the movers may have damaged the freshly painted woodwork. Not something I thought of but how considerate of them to protect my interest and rather come back to do it than me be upset that someone damaged my beautiful paint work. In my many many years, I've dealt with many companies for a lot of different things in my home improvement needs. If I was ever going to stick my neck out and recommend a company, this would be the one, SAL'S PAINTING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT in El Cajon CA., is the bomb. I only know they left tenants windows completely blocked off. Its hot in El Cajon and they didn't give any thoughts about the health and welfare of tenants. I can't speak on the actual work but if this is how they work I wouldn't suggest them. No amount of money is worth a life. Its very hot in El Cajon and to have windows covered in plastic and taped up for from a Friday to Tuesday is in excusable. I have pictures. read more
