I am currently growing out my hair to eventually donate, and I knew I needed to find someone to help me maintain it while it is in its awkward phase. Having recently moved, I was worried it would take me a few tries to find a place I would be happy with. Luckily, I found out about Salon Time. I easily made an appointment with Tami on the website, received a confirmation, and was set to go. I have been to Salon Time twice now. The first time I went, I was with my girlfriend who also had an appointment. Tami greeted us and was very pleasant, offering us water and chatting with us for a bit. The building itself has a lot of wood and natural lighting, which makes the experience very relaxing. Overall, the atmosphere is very welcoming. Since I never really had long hair before, I didn't know how I wanted to maintain it. Tami listened carefully to what I was going for, and offered great suggestions in areas I was unsure. She skillfully cut my hair, knowing that my intention is to grow it out, and asked for preferences along the way to make sure I was happy with the end result. My girlfriend was also happy with her haircut, and we both left very satisfied. I came back last weekend for a touch-up and the experience was just as good as the first time. She remembered my girlfriend and me and welcomed us back. She gave me another great cut, and also gave us some suggestions for places to check out in the area. Needless to say, we are very happy to have found her and highly recommend getting a hair cut at Salon Time! read more

This salon is relaxing and professional. I was planning a trip to Puerto Rico and was concerned about how my already frizzy/wavy hair would fare in the humidity there. Christine suggested a keratin smoothing treatment. It honestly changed my hair and made caring for my hair a breeze. Christine is an excellent stylist and is very knowledgeable about hair care. I completely trust her with my hair. She does highlights and haircuts for me too, and I couldn't be happier. I have to give a shout-out to Tami as well because I recently began getting eyelash extensions applied by Tami. If you are tired of applying mascara, only to have it end up all under your eyes like a sad raccoon, eyelash extensions may be right for you. It takes about an hour and is completely painless. They last longer if you can sleep on your back. I tend to sleep in a free-fall position so I usually have mine done every two weeks. I get lots of compliments and people can't believe that they are not natural. This is the best salon, in my opinion, and I totally recommend giving them a try. You will be glad you did. read more

I had a lot of trouble finding a stylist who could highlight my blonde hair (to my standard) when I moved to Connecticut. I am originally from California. I was referred to Tami by a friend. She was so sweet and nice! Not only were my highlights gorgeous, but the haircut was amazing too! It is NOT easy to find someone who can do amazing color and is also gifted in haircutting. Not all stylists are created equal, ladies! I have been getting my hair done by Tami and Tami alone for 4 years now. Salon Time is her salon and it is beautiful, clean and welcoming. If you are still not sure if you should get your hair done by her... I will also mention that her salon is located an HOUR from my house. Yes, I drive a total of 2 hours each time I see her (which is about every 8 weeks). She is THAT GOOD! I am confident that no matter what color or type of hair you have, you will leave her salon looking and feeling amazing! read more

Got my first Devacut from Tami last week. She took her time and I love the shape of my new haircut--no triangle! She was a great listener. If you are dissatisfied with normal haircuts on your curly hair, give this salon and method a try! I've been doing the "no poo" hair washing method for a couple months (well actually "co only"). I was a little concerned about going to a nice salon and grossing out my stylist. Tami didn't give me any grief and was genuinely curious about how it was working for me. The Deva haircut is a little strange to get used to if you've been getting normal haircuts at other salons. No blowout or texturing scissors here. And the wash comes after the cut. During the cut I felt a bit like a hedge being trimmed. Which sounds a little bad but makes sense really. You can actually see the shape appearing as she cuts and you don't have to guess what it's going to look like after your next wash. read more

All I can say is if you are looking for a new hairstylist, you need to make an appointment with Tami. Very professional, no false pretenses, gentle (no hair pulling, scalp scraping, forcing a comb through a snarl) quality cutting, honest opinions and ideas for your hair type. Long hair can be tricky to handle, and she handles it with ease. You know how when you watch someone do their work, no matter what that work might be, and it just seems to flow from them like it's an innate part of them? That's Tami. She has 5 star ratings on FB and Yelp. I now know why. Her demeanor as well as the interior of her business is calm, warm and welcoming. No loud music, no forced conversation, and enough time allotted where she is not rushed. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. read more

Tami owns this beautiful, new salon in Newington. From the moment you walk in, you feel relaxed and at ease. The salon itself is very clean, neat, and has a rustic feel. They offer you tea or something to drink, making you feel right at home. Tami has been cutting my hair for almost a year now and I am so happy I found her! I won't go anywhere else. She is very sweet, caring, and easy to talk to while she does your hair. Unlike some stylists at other salons I have been to, Tami really takes her time doing your hair, which speaks to her talent, passion for styling, and warm personality. The prices are very reasonable as well. Visiting this salon is truly a worthwhile experience that you won't regret! Thanks Tami! See you again soon xox -Allison read more

I've been going to get my hair done by Tami for years now and I've now followed her to this new location. Tami is fantastic. She's not only sweet but a phenomenal stylist. She has never tried to sell me or pressure me into doing something with my hair. She always listens to what I want and makes sure I'm happy with the results. I've donated my hair about two or three times with her and even when chopping off more than 10 inches, she always makes my hair look fabulous and its never a scary experience to chop it all off. When cutting my hair but growing it long, she leaves my hair looking wonderful and healthy. The salon itself is also great. The space is decorated well and is very spacious, clean, and calming. I absolutely recommend! read more

Tami Le is amazing at the DevaCurl cut! I donated 8" of hair a few months ago and now I love having short, curly hair. She knows what she's doing to provide these kind of results with my thick, difficult hair! She educates you on how to care for your hair and the products she carries but in no way pressures you to buy anything. As someone who used to be ok with getting trims at those cheap chain places, I now won't go anywhere else. In addition to Tami Le's lovely personality, the ambiance is relaxing and rustic, you'd never know the turnpike was out there, but it makes it easy to get to! Curly haired girls, there is a difference between a regular haircut and a DevaCurl, so treat yourself to your best hair! read more

I can not rave enough about Tami and Salon Time. The first time I visited Salon Time was for my cousin's wedding. Tami and her team did all our hair for the wedding and they all came out beautiful. Fast forward to this weekend when I wanted to book a last minute haircut/blowdry. Tami was able to squeeze me into her schedule and was so kind about it. Tami listened to what I wanted for my haircut and also showed me where my hair needed to be trimmed. I had a wonderful experience at Salon Time and I will be back for future visits. Amazing service and would recommend Tami and her team to my friends and family. read more

Without a doubt, this is the BEST salon I've ever been to. My mane has broken countless brushes and even a hair straightener - no professionals have ever known what to do with it. Ten minutes into meeting Tami, I knew she'd be different. She listens exactly to what you want, and works so quickly and effectively; she is funny and sweet and you always leave her salon feeling awesome. The rest of her staff is just as wonderful, and good conversation flows easily (between stylists and clients) all around the salon. I come from over an hour away to enjoy the oasis these girls have created - it is truly a gem. read more

Tami Le has been cutting, coloring and styling my hair for over a year and I have never had so many compliments before! "Where do you get your hair done? It looks great!" "Who colors your hair? It looks so natural." I tell them go to Tami Le she listens and is so knowledgeable. I trust her because I have curly hair and it's so difficult to cut and she does an amazing job! I referred my friends and family and now my my sister-in-law goes to Tami with her daughter. Her salon is so inviting and clean. I highly recommend Tami Le to everyone, no matter what your hair type. read more

Tami has been doing my hair for over 7 years. My mom, who is very selective to who does her hair, also trusts Tami!! She always listens to what I want and the look I am looking for and delivers. This time was no different. I wanted to just go super blonde, but she advised against it because it would cause a lot of damage to my hair. So instead we have been working towards lightening my hair for the past few months! And the wait was worth it!! The results speak for themselves!!! My hair is still soft and silky with fabulous color and cut! I LOVE my new look!! read more

Salon time is different then most of the salons I've been to. It feels like a little cottage and isn't to crowded like most salons are with the stations all to close together so you don't feel overwhelmed by the other people in the salon, which is nice. I got my hair dyed from blonde to a fire color and it came out seriously amazing and i was so happy how it came out!!! We had to tone it down for my job and they totally understood what I was saying and made it look amazing. I love it. Will be going back for future hair appointments. read more

Tami at Salon Time is a hair genius, she is marvelous and provides a detailed session. I have unruly curls that I love and after a hair appointment with Tami my curls are soft, vibrate and beautiful. I definitely enjoy the relaxed environment and the no pressure to buy products or/and cut my hair. She educates me without pressuring me to purchase unnecessary hair products to include cut, shampoo/conditioner, gel and other things. If you are in need of an excellent hair stylist I encourage you to visit Salon Time. read more

My daughter and I have been going to Tami for years, and we wouldn't trust anyone else with our hair. She always spends quality time making your hair exactly as you asked for and the results are always amazing! Tami's new salon is beautiful, and the whole salon experience feels relaxing and pampered. Between Tami's truly artistic stylist skills, and the serenity of Salon Time, you feel like you're getting a NYC hair salon experience. Thank you, Tami, for always making us look so good!!! read more

Another fabulous haircut from Tami! I feel like a totally new me after not getting it cut for five months due to my volunteering in Asia. There was no question that Tami would be the only person I would go to as she is awesome! She truly knows her craft and you will not be sorry if you go to Salon Time for your diva curl cut! Tami takes her time and listens to you!!! She also shows you what to do when you get home. I hope I can duplicate her work, as I am just thrilled with this cut! read more

Laura Delgado is amazing! I have curly hair that I blow out every day. Laura knows exactly how to cut my hair while it's curly so that it styles perfectly when blown out. Over the years I've gotten a number of different styles and cuts and she nails it every time! I have been seeing Tami for over 10 years. Literally have grown up with Tami and wouldn't have it any other way. She is amazing! She always does an amazing job on my long thick hair. I have gone to other stylists/salons on recommendations from friends and end up coming back to Tami. No one compares to Tami when it comes to cutting hair. She is my go to person for hair solutions, style suggestions, and product suggestions. You won't be disappointed! read more
