Drybar never disappoints! Everytime. Every stylist. Every occasion. My hair always looks fabulous!!…read moreI especially love Elisa and Ari, and Carrie.

Unfortunately, this was yet another disappointing experience at Drybar's Paradise Valley location…read morewith the stylist Tyler and after multiple visits with similar issues, I genuinely don't see myself returning. As much as I want to love going.. I give credit where it's due always because the phoenix camelback location this wasn't an issue. My appointment was scheduled for 5:45 PM. Due to traffic, I called ahead to let them know that my ETA was 5:47 PM at the absolute latest, only two minutes past my appointment time. Instead of simply acknowledging the heads-up, I was told that whether I could still be accommodated would depend on their availability, including potential walk-ins. When I asked whether there was a grace period for scheduled appointments, I couldn't get a clear answer. Eventually, a manager took over the call, apologized because the employee was training, and said she would notify the location. I actually arrived at 5:46 PM, just ONE minute after my scheduled appointment. However, I wasn't seated until approximately 5:50, and my stylist didn't begin until 5:55. I specifically requested the Manhattan style, completely straight, because I knew that adding curls or additional styling would take longer with my naturally curly hair. I communicated exactly what I wanted from the beginning. By 6:55 PM, an entire hour after my stylist began, my blowout STILL wasn't finished. At that point, I had dinner plans and schoolwork to complete, so I personally asked her to stop. I left with an UNFINISHED blowout, which is incredibly disappointing considering I booked and expected a complete service. What really bothered me was what happened at checkout. My stylist went to the front desk, and I accompanied her, only to find out that she initially wanted to charge me an ADDITIONAL $120 because of the time spent on my hair. Mind you, my hair wasn't even finished! The front desk receptionist actually acknowledged that she didn't think it was fair to charge me that much considering my service was incomplete. Ultimately, I was still charged an additional $20 for going over the allotted time. I want to be clear that I wasn't upset with the receptionist. I even told her that I understood she was simply following company policy and doing her job. I wasn't interested in arguing with someone who didn't create the policy. However, even the fact that she recognized the original charge was unreasonable speaks volumes. This is also not my first experience with unexpected additional charges at Drybar. I have naturally curly, textured hair, and it seems that every visit comes with additional fees because my hair takes longer to style. I completely understand that different hair types require different amounts of time, but if additional charges are anticipated, that should be communicated clearly BEFORE the service begins, not presented as a surprise at checkout. If they feel like my hair is going to take longer just by looking at it then that should be clearly communicated. My original blowout and add-on were expected to total approximately $75-$80. I don't mind paying for a service, but I do mind paying more than expected for a service that wasn't even completed. Additionally, my stylist was not particularly welcoming or personable. There was very little interaction, and I honestly felt as though she was frustrated to be working with my hair texture. As a Black woman, that is an incredibly uncomfortable feeling, especially when visiting a salon that advertises services for different hair types. My biggest issue is the lack of transparency and fairness. Customers are expected to respect appointment times, yet my appointment began ten minutes late. Customers are expected to pay additional fees when services run over, yet there seems to be little consideration for whether the service was completed or whether those charges were ever communicated. I genuinely wanted to enjoy my experience, but I left with unfinished hair, unexpected charges, and an overall disappointing impression of the service. Drybar needs to do better when it comes to scheduling, pricing transparency, and providing consistent, welcoming service for clients with textured hair. Just gives if you have curly hair / are a black woman don't bother.. I guess I should have done my own research & not trusted the black models that they have on the marketing side.

The location is incredibly convenient since it's right on the resort grounds, making it easy if you're staying at the hotel. They were very busy, which isn't surprising for a holiday weekend, but my stylist still did a nice job with my fine hair. My blowout lasted well throughout the evening, and I was happy with the final result. The only thing that surprised me was that I had mentioned I was getting my hair done for my birthday dinner, but there wasn't any acknowledgment of the occasion. It certainly wasn't expected, but it would have been a thoughtful touch, especially at a luxury resort salon. Overall, it's a good option if you're staying at The Phoenician and want the convenience of an on-property salon. The service and styling were solid, but it didn't leave enough of an impression for me to book a second appointment during the rest of my stay.

I specifically requested and paid for extra services who in my opinion were not worth the $15 up charge after everything was said and done! I will not be returning even though I had used their services many times before and felt it was a great business model for an individual looking for a quick wash and blow dry! It's always comes down to one thing that either breaks or makes a business " Customer Service" when that's gone so do the clients!

I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged…read more I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!…read more Y'all, if you're looking for an amazing stylist, look no further. I'm someone who has done a lot to my hair over the years. I previously owned a modeling agency, and we were constantly changing hair styles and working with some of the best stylists in the world. After moving to the Sedona area, I had three disappointing experiences in a row--honestly, some of the worst hair I've ever had. I finally decided to make the trip to Scottsdale, where I knew I could find someone who truly cared about their craft. After doing some research, I chose this salon and booked with Lisa. In just one appointment, she completely understood what I wanted and delivered it flawlessly. With over 20 years of experience, she made what seemed impossible look effortless. She not only got me back to where I wanted to be--she exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most was that she listened. Really listened. Then she combined that understanding with incredible skill and precision. On top of that, she's an absolute delight to spend time with. If you've been struggling to find a stylist you trust, I know how stressful that can be. Great hair makes such a difference, and we all deserve exceptional service and results. Run, don't walk, and book with Lisa. You'll be so glad you did! xoxo

Think twice before you go to this place! I honestly have…read morenever had an experience like this with a haircut, and I'm still incredibly frustrated and upset about it. I showed exactly what I wanted simple face framing and long layers but my hair was cut so unevenly that the layers didn't blend at all. There were random short pieces, completely different lengths, and the back was uneven and had no shape. It genuinely looked like a 5 year old had cut my hair, not a certified professional. Almost everyone who has seen my hair since has asked me the same thing: how could this possibly happen at a professional salon? Yes, I received a full refund, and I appreciate that. But I then had to go somewhere else to try to fix the damage. The second stylist had to take off even more hair, so I lost both the length AND the density of my hair just to make it look somewhat normal again. And even now, there is only so much that can be fixed. I have to wait for it to grow out. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I asked the manager for their number because I genuinely wanted someone to explain to me HOW this happened. She never responded. I got my money back, but I felt absolutely no real empathy or understanding of what I was dealing with just scripted comments like I would be sad like you too and "Everybody loves this hairstylist. That completely misses the point. This is MY hair. I can't undo what was done. Giving me my money back doesn't give me back the length and density I lost or change how awful I feel every time I look at my hair. I wasn't looking for drama or anything extra from them. I just wanted someone to actually acknowledge how badly this went, take it seriously, and explain how something like this could happen with a professional stylist. I never got that.
