After having my major change screwed up at another salon a month ago (think mid-back length super thick straight hair to an awful asymmetrical pixie that couldn't be saved) I was forced to buzz my head but it was still fairly uneven. Guillaume made it perfect again with an amazing skin fade, and even dealt with my baby bang hairs that never sit right. Will be back in a week with my daughter and husband for their cuts and this is definitely now my only go to salon!

I am very particular so I went through a lot of places and their reviews before deciding on Helmet Salon for a hair cut and a completely new look after having super long hair for months!! Booking an appointment was easy and a smooth process. They booked me in for the time slot I was free and told me I would get Sacha. Got there for my haircut and met Sacha. We discussed the photos I had saved and the look I was going for at length and he was very patient and responsive! We agreed on a style and he gave me exactly the same look I was going for!!! I was very nervous, as my hair is complicated to cut. I have always had very thick, curly and long hair and was worried going in, but he promised that was his favourite type to cut. Clearly that's true because he did a great job!! Took his time with the cut, gave me a great blow dry and then straightened my hair!! Will definitely be coming by for a trim soon and would highly recommend this place and Sacha to others as well.

Everyone was very polite and welcoming. I was pleased to have found a new salon that seemed so happy to have me there! As a little background, I haven't been able to have my hair colored in a salon for years due to how expensive it is, but I have finally reached a place in my life where I am financially ok, and able to treat myself with something like this. I was very excited. They took a $75 deposit for the appointment, which I was really looking forward to. However, the next day I was called and told my appointment was cancelled because my colorist did not feel comfortable bleaching my hair and was afraid of damaging it. I understand that everyone has their own comfort levels and boundaries, but I am not sure she is in the right line of work. All bleach damages hair - I am fully aware of this! I am an adult capable of making my own decisions. It seems strange to make an appointment for a new client and then cancel on them the next day. A little unprofessional, and pretty crushing for someone who is finally able to afford these expensive services! If you don't want your new client, say so at the consultation. I really feel like my time was wasted. They refunded the deposit at least. But I won't go back.

I have been here when full bridal parties are getting their updo's done and everyone looks chic, romantic, unique, but unified - it really is amazing. (Also amazing was getting my hair cut downstairs where there are only 2 salon chairs and NO bridal parties. Thank you for the blessed quiet!) I asked around a lot before coming here after my last guy moved away, and all the gals with the best hair pointed me to Queen of the World. I should add - I always get my hair cut by the owner and have never had my hair coloured here. Not a pretentious spot, always a great haircut.

Yesterday I arrived to lime coiffure and had the hairdresser wash my hair, and totally did not acknowledged that she was wetting my entire back. She then cut my hair which WAS long and no longer had layers. She made 2 big layers instead of many tiny layers. My hair now looks like she started to cut my hair into a bob and then her scissors broke and no longer continued to cut my hair. She took out at least 4 cm of my hair that i have been growing out for 6 months. When I finally decided to go TRIM my hair, this happens. To get rid of the split ends she used this sorts of blade that you only use on straight hair which I don't have. The reaction to using it on curly hair is that it makes your hair look like it is burnt. Hope you take this into consideration when you are looking for a new hair dresser. I was very specific about what I wanted, I painted a very vivid picture - it wasn't complicated. I expected a lot more from the stylist who claimed he had many years of experience. Now I have no choice but to let it grow out for the next few months to get it back to the length I had it originally. The color was good. At least. But that's the easy part, let's be serious here.
