Badri gave my daughter and I a Keratin/straightening treatment and haircut and we could not have been more pleased with the results. This was the worst hair salon experience I have ever had in my life. I got a keratin treatment and this lady completely messed up my hair. Her name is Badri Kermani, a short, skinny, dark haired woman. I live in New York and was quarantining in California. The day I got my treatment, I was looking around for people to get my hair done and this lady was able to fit me into her schedule on a short notice. I wanted to give my appreciation by giving her the cost of the treatment in all cash. I wish I hadn't done that because she completely messed up my hair and since she doesn't want to refund me, I have to file a small claims report to get my money back. Keratin treatments last at least 6 months. When I contacted her about my hair looking disgusting after less than a month in, she told me "oh looks like your hair doesn't suit it, when you come back to California I will give you another one". First of all, I don't want another treatment, I want my money back. Even if I were to get one again, you can't put another treatment so soon after you get one or your hair will break off. Second of all, my hair is designed for keratin treatment. It isn't too coarse and neither is it too thin. My roommate, a licensed cosmetologist working at a 5th ave salon, told me this. My hair should not have looked like this and the reason it does is because she put too much keratin in it. When I asked Kermani what the treatment she used was called, she needed time to look it up. If she did this treatment often like she said she did, she would know the name at the top of her head. I doubt this lady even has a license to do keratin treatments. This salon works as a rental for individual hair stylists. All of the hair stylists are individual businesses so watch out. The salon will not be able to help you if your hair gets messed up by shady stylists like Badri Kermani. read more

Jessica Gentle has been coloring and cutting my hair since January 2017. I see her every 4-5weeks. Her prices are more than reasonable for the high quality work that she performs. She is very detail oriented and always strives to have the perfect shade as well as the perfect cut for my face shape, personality, and complexion. She has also helped me determine which products work best for my hair for my daily care. She recently noticed a spot of slight discoloration on my scalp that was not present when she saw me 4 weeks earlier. She told me about it and encouraged me to see a dermatologist because it could be skin cancer. I didn't know that I could get skin cancer on my scalp! I saw the dermatologist two weeks later and they took a skin sample, which confirmed Basal Cell Carcinoma. Which is a type of Skin Cancer. Because of her attention to detail, I was able to receive an early diagnosis and I start treatment soon to stop the spread of the cancer. My dermatologist was thoroughly impressed with her discerning eye and noted that I could have sustained muscle, never and bone damage if she had not noticed the spot or didn't advise me to see a doctor immediately. Jessica is a gift to her profession. I have never met a more attentive hair stylist who genuinely cares about the complete health of their clients. I have been coloring my hair myself using beauty supply store product for over a year. Somehow, in the last couple of months, my hair kept getting darker and darker even though I was choosing lighter colors and using a Demi-permanent. Finally, I used a 6N called, "dark blonde" and it turned my hair a blackish purple. It was not cute. I was bummed. I called Badri Kermani today when I got off early from work because I couldn't stand to look at it anymore and boy, did she save the day! Well, she saved my hair. And she spared me days (or months) of looking in the mirror and not seeing "myself." Before my self coloring disaster a few days ago, I went to a salon elsewhere and I wasn't happy with the cut. Rather than have me go back to that salon and have them fix my cut, Badri fixed it. She also spent a lot of time and care lifting the purple black color from my hair. I was nervous that it wasn't going to be possible because like most women, I've been promised the moon at hair salons before only to end up with lackluster results. I have seen Badri for color before and she has never done me wrong, but this time she really knocked it out of the park. My cut and color (balayage?) are incredible. The color is more of a true brown and the copper and gold highlights are gorgeous. I feel more myself than I have in years. I still can't believe the magic she just worked on my hair! My flight was delayed and I called them from the uber to let them know I was going to be up to 15 min late and they said they couldn't accommodate me. Groupon is a place I sometimes go to try on new things for size. That's how I recently found this salon which not only offered the service I was looking for, but in a convenient location. Just moments ago I phoned the associated number listed to the marketed promotion I already purchased for a Brazilian blowout. I expected to reach a salon, but was not formally greeted that way by any means. I explained how I came across this contact and offering and seconds later received a heinous response. This David fellow abruptly said, "we aren't doing that Groupon thing anymore and need to take it down" Well dude, FYI it's still very much UP. I don't know how you run your business- clearly without integrity- but in my world you honor what is advertised especially when you're the one responsible for promoting it in the first place! David did such a good job on my hair that my friend wanted to get the same thing done . she wanted to see his reviews as she's super picky -She noticed one that was bad and said what's this and I couldn't believe it, it was the same girl that was at the salon when I got my hair done. I was completely baffled & confused by Wendy's one star review? She seemed super happy at the time . Coincidentally, my first time seeing David was the same night Wendy was there. When I arrived he was still working on her hair. I got there about an hour and 20 minutes before my appointment as I got off work early and didn't want to drive all the way home. When I first walked in the Solon she was getting Blowout washed out. He proceeded to cut and blow dry her hair for two more hours, she had crazy unusually thick hair, I cannot believe that she would complain. That's one thing that made me trust David is that even though her hair took forever ,he wanted to make sure it looked good. I can tell you this , her hair looked amazing when she left and I even told her that she was giving me hair envy - anyway more importantly back to me......... loved my hair color , blow out and my cut - I let him do whatever he wanted ,I was indecisive and it is perfect! If you would like your hair ripped out of your skull then David is the guys for you. This guy doesn't know if he's a hair dresser, a real estate, agent, a writer etc etc. This has been my worst hair experience in my life. I came upon this person through a coupon for a Brazilian blowout. I have a normal girl I go to but I couldn't make it to see her and this was convenient. David made several inappropriate comments regarding my ethnicity which I disregarded bc I figure we'll I just won't come back here. But then came the constant comments about how I wasn't paying him anyway why didn't you bring cash, and constant and persistent complaining about how Groupon takes most of the money and I should've contacted him. I measured my hair prior to going and my hair was 17" he insisted that it wasn't and charged my $50 o tip of the Groupon. When he washed my hair he was extremely rough and felt like he was smacking my head and it gets better from there he then proceeded to rip through my hair and cause serious breakage. Apparently he never learned that that is not how you untangle hair. And the torture on my scalp continued until the end of the "treatment" when he decided to finish by brushing my face and forehead with the round bristle brush. After all this I'm on day 3 of his so called blowout and I am extremely frizzy and my curl is just as strong as ever. He would not be someone I recommend to get a blowout from unless you have a very short pixie cut and straight hair bc that's about the only way he could do a good job. If you're thinking about the Groupon BEWARE he only likes people who are willing to spend $200 or more. He makes you feel like you're a nuisance more than a customer. I've been getting blowouts since 2008 and I can tell you he does not know how to do them and you will have a headache after his services. JUST DONT there are more qualified people that would be thankful for your patronage Groupon or not.
