I had an appointment with Sheri for root color and trim. It was my first time at the salon. It was not busy but it's a nice clean salon in anice neighborhood.Sheri was very friendly and accomodating. I showed her my color combination from my therapist back east and she said she uses a different line of color but she would try her best. After the color she did my trim and did a blow dry. She said she was not happy with the color and asked if it was ok with me to go back another day. She didn't charge me for the color and I went back and she fixed the color. The stylist I was booked with happened to be the owner. Everyone working was nice but the haircut felt rushed, incomplete, and not at all worth $120. After a quick wash, she went straight into blow drying my hair with no heat protectant. Then, she sprayed some product directly on my scalp (?), added some heat protectant, and proceeded to flat iron my hair. This was odd to me, as it is typically standard to finish a trim with a nice blowout. I also specifically asked for layers, and they weren't really touched. The attention to detail was just not there, especially as I left when I noticed the center back of my head was not fully dried. My appointment was about a week ago, and I initially was like "just let it go". But honestly, that was a waste of time and money for such mediocre results read more

In discussion with there was zero current hairstyle knowledge. Unknown terms or understanding: Shattered, textured, choppy haircuts. Lobs & Bobs have been 'on trend' since spring 2023. There was no recognition of these trends, nor the effort to read any of the multiple saved guidance I had with me. Instead I was told, "I can't be expected to read & know everything". For a salon on the cusp of Del Mar proper, I certainly don't expect the hair dresser to have zero suggestions and zero knowledge how to texturize thick hair for very current styles. My time is also valuable. Scheduling & showing up to an appt during my workday only to have the appt summarize in the first 5 mins with complete vagueness, is not anyone's expectation. read more

I got a cut and balayage with Bahar. She is a hair artist! She really took her time in painting the different layers for a very detailed and fine balayage. She designed the cut so that the layers highlight her color work. I've found my forever salon. Thank you Bahar! Note- this was my first visit to a salon since the pandemic started. For starters, Del Beauty Box is a cute little salon, easy to find, with it's own parking in the back. Once you're inside, you're greeted by friendly staff and a clean, open space to get your hair done. The stylists are all friendly, but my personal favorite is Frieda. I've been coming to her for years for my cut and color and couldn't imagine going to anyone else. Shana is an artist and magician. She transformed me for a holiday party in December and I reached out to her again for an event yesterday. She went above and beyond my expectations again. I am so impressed with this Salon. The owner is gracious and made me feel extremely welcome and appreciated that I was there. Sheri first did a cut and highlights on my daughter's hair. Sheri's customer service, attention to detail, knowledge, and charm made me come back and do the same for myself. She had to spend almost 4 hours on my hair to fix my at home mistakes and also waited for an hour for me while I had a conference call I had to make in the middle of my appointment and did not make me feel bad at all for doing so. She was so gracious. With highlights, color, and a cut my hair now looks amazing and feels and looks very healthy. Sheri is an artist at hair color and I highly recommend her.
