I provided a picture as a concept, but told her "He will not add product, he doesn't want to style it, just make it easy for him." Then I sat up front and let them do their thing. A short time later, a super hot man strutted up to me with the biggest smile ever because he LOVED his new haircut! He got a nice little beard & mustache trim at the end and he's had pep in his step all day. Mission accomplished! The salon is somehow sleek AND cozy and it smells amazing. I was sniffing my husband's t-shirt after we left because it smelled so good. Sort of like Aveda products, IYKYK - botanical but really nice! It seems very laid back, they tout their inclusivity and I believe Ashley has a client for life in my husband. I found Honey Bee on Google as I haven't found a salon for myself since moving up here, but after his awesome experience and a fantastic first impression, I'll be booking an appointment for myself in the very near future.

Unfortunately, my last experience at this salon, specifically with Angela Noel, was extremely…read moredisappointing and left me feeling genuinely disrespected. The issue began at checkout. The price listed on the website was different from the amount I was charged. I received my regular haircut, the same service from the same stylist, Angela Noel, whom I have visited many times before. I have always paid the same amount and left a generous tip. However, this time I was charged nearly double for the exact same service, with no additional services provided and no clear explanation for the price difference. After my appointment, I received a link inviting me to leave a review. I shared my experience honestly and respectfully. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, my review was removed from the website. I was then contacted through a voicemail and told that they would make things right during my next visit. Based on that assurance, I booked another appointment with Angela Noel a couple of months later. My appointment was confirmed through both text message and email several days in advance. However, just 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I suddenly received multiple messages stating that my appointment had been canceled. I was also informed that I was no longer welcome at the salon and that any future appointments, whether booked online or by phone, would also be canceled. If the apology and offer to make things right were sincere, why was I encouraged to return for another visit in the first place? Why was my appointment confirmed and then canceled in such an unprofessional manner at the last minute? This situation makes me question whether the intention was truly to resolve the issue and correct the mistake, or simply to manage the situation temporarily and prevent me from returning afterward. The only reason I can see for this treatment is that I left an honest review about being charged significantly more than the advertised price and the price I had consistently paid in the past. It is disappointing that a loyal customer would be treated this way simply for sharing a truthful experience. No customer should feel punished for providing honest feedback. I am deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled and by the way I was treated.

I've gone there for 5+ years and never a bad experience. I'm not sure why I didn't write a rave review for Salon de la Vie before but I know why I am now. Another client told me about an outrageous customer who insulted the staff with totally disrespectful language in front of other customers then posted to Yelp. Hair can be emotional but so is making your livelihood by building an amazing business through positive word of mouth. This one 2nd hand review speaks to service that is the opposite of all that I have seen from Angie or the team. IF Angie were ever slightly rude, it must have taken a ton of abuse to provoke it. I'm not sure why someone would go somewhere they thought was overpriced to get a haircut they did not like 3x, before losing one's cool on the fourth. For starters, she was the first stylist I've gone to in my life -- and I'm in my 60s -- who knew how to properly cut curly hair! She really examines your hair and curl patterns to optimize your cut. She educates about her process and products so that you can easily replicate the look at home. Now, instead of pulling and straightening and damaging my hair for a half hour, I can very often just walk out the door with little to any time spent on my hair!! A half hour gained nearly every day! Shortly after meeting Andy, I also set aside my boxed hair dye and started having my hair dyed with FUN colors: a purple and blue based "galaxy" mix. I get constant compliments from strangers. It's rare not to get *multiple* compliments a day. I went from being an invisible older woman to being approached all the time! It's the darndest thing! And remember -- my hair is the healthiest it's ever been, despite bleaching and dyeing regularly! Yes, I could go to Ulta and buy some bleach and several dyes and try to DIY this. But I would not get these amazing results. It's the old joke about the guy brought out of retirement to fix a broken machine. He submits his bill: 1. Adding screw: $1 2. Knowing where to put it: $10,000 It's easy to raise an eyebrow over the cost of haircare. It's viewed as a luxury.
