I came home took my sweater off and saw a large bleached stain. I called the salon and told them what has happened. I received a voicemail with a note from the manager (Jennifer) that they will not reimburse me anything. Their explanation was : Kat said you bleached your hair prior. Which is total non sense and a lie. I mentioned to Kat that I lightened my hair months ago on my own and she tried to make it sound like I did it before I came to see her?! Why did I have 3inch roots showing then? I am absolutely disappointed in them. I expected to get a call and maybe an apology, instead I was treated like I was a liar.

This studio has won The State Newspapers "Best Of" stylist and salon awards many times over and the…read moresame with the Free Times "Best Of" awards for a reason...this place is the best. Each stylist is unique and gifted...you feel cool just being in there with people like Jenny Thompson (studio owner and badass) and Robin Gotleib (stylist and local theatre director). Jenny has brought the best stylists in Columbia under one roof. Under this roof is exposed brick, great colors, antique hair brushes and comfortable seating. Bombshell is located in 5 points across from Chick-fil-a. At almost 40, I've never colored my hair or been brave beyond long to medium to short, back to long. Here I am today getting it colored and they shaved the back of my neck. SOOOO EXCITED.

I am hesitant to leave this review....I drive 5 hours one way to see my favorite stylist Angie. I…read moredon't want her to get over booked that she doesn't have time for me! Kinda of selfish, huh! I don't have difficult hair, what we have here in Atlanta is stylists that do not want to take the time to listen to what the client wants. Oh don't worry, her skills are amazing on top of her listening abilities. I will follow Angie or Angie will have to interview and approve the next stylist if she decides to move an airplane ride away!

I'm choosing to forgive the offense, but due to the fact that I chose this salon solely because of…read moreits high star reviews I feel convicted to share my experience so someone else doesn't have to endure this dishonest representation of skills or suffer the poor customer service and general lack of care. For context I called to schedule my first hair cut after 2 years battling cancer and 20 rounds of chemo. I specifically asked for someone who specialized in short haircuts/chemo hair and was assured I was in good hands. I communicated that I have been a full time performer for over 15 years and frequently have to be on stage or infront of cameras. I also explained I was wanting my hair shaped so it looked more presentable for an Air Force event. This salon left me feeling more robbed of my femininity, looks, and confidence than cancer or chemo ever did. The email exchange is with the salon owner after we spoke on the phone a little before 3 PM and I explained the situation. While she did apologize, there was a defensive, short tone on the phone. I'm including both of my emails as well as her response after they were already closed. She knew this was time sensitive and that we were leaving town early the next morning. 3 hours and end of business day passed with no follow up or solution. Google is free. I will say Lynne who I initially explained the situation to had a much kinder and compassionate demeanor than the others. Also, stress reduction is crucial for a cancer patient's health and recovery. This experience literally impacted my health as you can see in my monitor's analysis for the day. I will let the photos speak for themselves...

Today I met the miracle worker that is Salena. She transformed my paper bag brown colored rat's…read morenest of hair into this beautiful, bouncy, vibrant coiffure that now gently rests atop my head. My visit began with an introduction. Salena is so friendly, you're instantly put at ease discussing what cut and color you'd like. Of course I went in with pictures from Insta and Pinterest that ran the gamut from long and sleek to short and punk. After a consultation, she gave me the perfect cut and color for my face shape and skin tone. I couldn't be more pleased. It's so flattering and everyone loves it. Also, I had several inches taken off, which I donated. She educated me on the different charities and helped me make an informed decision about which one I chose. (I had only ever heard of the big charity.) There was another stylist there and she was just as friendly and welcoming. Overall, if I could give this salon 10 stars I would. I didn't realize how much a new cut and color could boost your confidence. Thanks to Salena!

This is only the second review but it appears the first review is actually for the wrong salon…read more That reviewer is reviewing Salon 3:16 and not Studio Five. Studio Five is great. Most of the staff has worked together in other salons before calling this place home. Angela is great and cuts both mine and my husband's hair. Sherrie cuts our kid's hair. The other stylists keep full chairs too. They are well informed about their techniques and the products they use and sell. They pay attention to what you ask for, give feedback if your goal is unrealistic or not quite suitable for your hair type/maintenance goals and they are happy to "fix" or adjust their cut or color in the rare event that it is not quite what you expected. My family has used one or more of these stylists for over ten years and various hair styles.
