My normal stylist was out of town so I decided to take a chance on Yelp. I saw that Salon One had high ratings and made an appointment. The employees were very responsive. I was able to text them an image of what I wanted and they quoted me a price with breakdowns even before I scheduled. The salon is small (but they're expanding!) and I noticed that each stylist took really well care of their clients. We were offered water, coffee and even snacks. Definitely great customer service! My stylist was Joanna and she was patient, meticulous and knowledgeable. My hair took a long time (over 5 hours!!) but the results were beautiful. I wanted a rose gold color and they recommended balayage with babylights. My hair definitely turned out amazing and it was worth the cost (I only dye my hair once a year). Joanna was very caring and took her time to explain the condition of my hair and also suggest products to use to reverse the damage. I haven't had my hair professionally done in YEARS and I came in wanting a balayage from Level 2 Asian hair. Despite our first session taking a whopping nine hours, Jeanne pulled through like the amazing hair stylist she was. During our second session, she took care of my hair and toned my hair into an ashier blonde with some lowlights. It came out so well too!!! If you just need your hair done and you know exactly what you want already then you are set here. However, if you are looking for that type of experience where you meet with a stylist you talk about your hair, the stylist actually looks at your hair and feels your hair to see what they're about to work with and actually brainstorms what fun things can potentially happen with your hair then you will not get that here. I basically ordered my hairstyle at the front then got shuffled around (because it's a team effort of stylists) until I got the finished product. Hair service was great - cut and color. Customer service not great - you need to know exactly what you want already, they weren't willing to play around or talk other options to do with hair. They offered coffee while I waited which is the least they could do since I waited an hour after my scheduled appointment time. read more

I have 2 different ratings for this place. My initial appointment was with Joanna and sometimes I got rude vibes from her. Ie. When I asked her if I should wash my hair that night especially since I got a haircut, which I think is a fair question for someone like me who isn't a hair expert), she made me feel like that was a dumb question and said "Why would you wash your hair? I just washed it." She could've just said "no" without a snobby tone. Ultimately, my hair didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I got my hair dyed and it barely looked any different. She told me that it just looks darker right now with the lighting, which I believed her, but shortly after realized that it wasn't just the lighting. Later on after I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the salon, I was told it was because of my dark hair color, which I understand, but Joanna didn't warn me about how my color might not look like my goal photo. I even had to get a haircut (which I didn't want at first) In order to get to the "right" color. I was very disappointed. I just felt like she didn't provide good customer service. I literally feel like I wasted $185 on a barely noticeable haircut and hair dye. I appreciate the salon letting me come back to get it fixed, but I was under the impression they would strip the color and lighten it without additional charge (at least that's what it seemed like). However, I ended up doing a balayage since I was told if I don't, my hair won't look any different. I understand that I need to pay more, but I am just once again disappointed that none of this was mentioned beforehand as I thought they were able to just make it lighter the second time around without balayage. I also would've expected the salon to maybe even provide at least a tiny discount to make up for the fact that they did not estimate my hair color correctly the first time and that I paid $135 in my initial appointment for not much of a change at all. However, it felt like the pricing was super rigid. Again, I understand I do need to pay more for the balayage, but it just felt like nothing was comp'd for some of their mistakes initially. If a business even gave a small discount to make up for it, it would have truly gone a long way. I would have actually given a higher rating but the rigidity felt like they were nickel and diming me. They said they're just charging the difference (as if they were doing me a favor), but technically I had to drive back twice AND tip twice, so it's really no difference than if I just got a balayage during my first session, except I technically paid more at the end due to the first time not going right. My 2nd appointment (hair fix) was with Julienne and I would definitely recommend her and give her more stars. She was truly very kind and patient and I do appreciate that she took the time to make sure I was happy with the outcome. I think she really provided amazing customer service considering the fact that she was correcting someone else's mistake. I can tell she really cares about the customers and overall was a good experience. After my 2nd appointment, I'm pretty satisfied with my hair thanks to Julienne. Over $300 later, I do think I paid too much for this (not so great initial experience), so I don't plan on coming back or recommending this place. In the end, I just feel like I gave this business even more of my money than I anticipated. read more

I've been looking for a hair salon to get my hair colored for the summer and decided to try out Salon ONE 9 after reading reviews and looking at pictures. I sent in pictures of my hair and a picture of what I wanted my new hair color to look like. Jeanne messaged me back right away with a quote that detailed everything that needed to be done to achieve the color. They luckily had an opening the next day, so I took it! When first arriving at the salon, I was immediately greeted and offered something to drink. They even offered pastries from Porto's. After a short wait, I met Mallory whom was doing my hair.
