It was really easy to make an appointment. I asked about their services today and was able to get several dates and times for today and the next three days. Communication was very clear and they were quick to respond. All the staff are very friendly and make sure customers feel comfortable and welcomed. I got a trim today with Karen and I have never been happier with my hair! I wanted to keep the length and add a little more movement and layers so curls can look nicer. Jeanne was really nice, knowledgable, patient, and friendly. Two decades I've been going to a different salon before I found them and I've never experienced a more gentle yet effective procedure. Their procedure made my hair striaght no matter what I do unlike the other salon! After I had my hair straightened with Salon one 9 its all wash and go! Its been 8 weeks and my hair is still smooth and shiny and straight! It's an organized, nice, clean place as well, they had a lot of hair products avaiable for customers to buy too. This time was *my* turn to get my hair done. My hair is almost down to my butt and lord have mercy on my grown out roots. It's been quite a while since I got it done. I did get it colored but as far as getting balayage, it's been a year or so. I don't get much time to myself as I have a toddler who has ASD. My appointment was 2/11 and I got matched with Elicia, who is the blond expert. I was all over the place with what I wanted. (I'm indecisive) Something low maintenance, dimensions, blonds, browns, layers/no layers, everything. I showed her some photos of what I wanted. She gave some suggestions and I figured she was the expert so I said sure! Have at it! The process took a bit longer than I anticipated. Plus, it didn't help my hubby kept texting me our son was upset and kept asking how much longer lol. (To be fair, it was the very first time I left my son) I was at the toner stage and it was about 7pm and my hubby texted that he melted down and kept asking for me. So I had to let Elicia know that my son was freaking out and I just had to go. She was understanding and rinsed me out, blow dried my hair and off I went. She was nice enough to let me know that I could book another appointment to finish off the toner and the haircut. I made another appointment on 2/17 and got everything done. I messaged three different hair salon through Yelp, and Jeanne was the first one to respond (less than 24 hours). She is very informative, knowledgable, and accomodating. She answered all my questions including letting me know the prices for each services that Im interested in. I was able to be seen the next day, and I met her in person, she is the sweetest and talented at what shes doing. I love my haircut, I love my all over base color. I searched Yelp in order to get a nice cut for the Thanksgiving holiday. I found Salon ONE9 and was super impressed with their ratings, photos of hair styles, and to top it off, their prices were super nice. I made my appointment for 4PM, walked in with 3 differnt photos of how I'd like my haircut, and explicitly told her before the haircut that "I don't want to use products to style my hair." She used a blade from the beginning to the end with a very little scissoring in between. I said in the middle of the cut, "you're taking a lot off" and she replied "you have thick hair"; meaning the amount of hair on my head. She's the professional so I let her do her thing. At the end, I thought to myself that it was a bit short in the front, and the hair above and around my ears were sticking out, but she told me my "cow-lick will do it's own thing", sprayed bunch of this spray, styled my hair, I paid and left. The next morning, I got up and washed the product out of my hair and holy shit!!! My hair looked like crap!!! It was cut uneven from the left and right so one side is longer than the other, the bang was cut so short that it looks nothing like what I asked for. I waited a day after Thanksgiving to give the stylist a quiet Thanksgiving. So on Friday I texted her to let her know that my haircut is a hot mess. She text me back saying that she will be back in the salon "next Wednesday." Then text me back again saying "just kidding! I will be in tomorrow." At this point, I don't want anything to do with Mallory touching my hair so I passed on coming back to her, I called my sister's stylist and she told me if she tried to fix it, she would have to cut it shorter to even things out. So I left the salon to give it time to grow back a bit to trim it, until then, I swear, I wore a hoodie for over a month! Thank goodness it was winter time. For a week and a half I contemplated on just letting it go, but I ended up messaging the owner. She was kind and wanted to help fix my hair herself, but I was coughing and sneezing so we tried for a new date, but they ended up closing down again due to the pandemic. It took me 3 months to grow it out just to get it evened out. Maybe they are good with color and long hair styles, but a short cut was a HARD FAIL!!! I sent Jeanne a hair goal picture and she literally made it exactly what I wanted! This time, I wanted an ashy color not too light and not too dark and it is perfect. I love when my hair is different shades in different lighting but they all look so good. The process took 6 hours. Before the pandemic, I went to Salon one 9 for a haircut also by Jeanne and I loved it so this time around, I wanted to get it balayaged by her. When it comes to these things, I am super picky and I do not go to someone unless I've seen many of their work and I'm glad I went to Jeanne cause I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Jeanne and Alvin would constantly check on my hair and make sure it was going smooth. Most importantly, my hair still feels good after being bleached and toned. Also this was pretty last minute, made appointment around two weeks in advance! They are quick with reply's and consultation. Also at the end they will suggest you some products to help your hair and color last longer so you don't need to make another trip to get them or order online and have to wait. Also they do a good job with the pandemic safety, limited capacity. If you would like to be in an empty space, they will do your hair outside. 10/10 recommend!! read more

Had a sudden urge to chop my hair, and came across this local salon on yelp. Emailed to book and appt and someone got back to me right away. They luckily had some availability so they sent me plenty of dates and times that were available. They also luckily had availability for same day. As I walked in I was offered Tea,coffee, or water and was again offered an option of snacks as I was getting my hair done. Today my stylist was Elicia and she was amazing!!! I showed her a picture of my inspo of a cut I was going for and she over exceeded my expectations!!! I left the salon feeling beautiful and amazing!!! Getting hair bleached and done at a salon is always scary for me since I never know what to expect after 6-8 hrs but this salon was amazing with communication and flexibility and even though I was unhappy with my hair the first time around a huge ty to Julienne for making sure I ended up 100% happy and for being super nice about everything and making my hair super pretty :) 100% recommend her if u want to get your hair done :) Hair: The first time around I got a global bleach done since my roots had grown past my ears and I wanted my entire head to be blonde again. After about 6 hrs, the end result was too ashy for my taste and I was pretty shocked with how my hair looked. However, julienne worked with me to strip the toner out and I ended up liking the end result then and went home. However, after a couple washes, I ended up not liking the yellow tone color and reached out to the salon again to have it fixed. They were super accommodating since I had to leave in 4 days back to the Bay Area and took me later at night. The second time around, julienne got rid of the dark band and got my hair to a super pretty light blonde. I ended up deciding to add pink/rose gold to my hair on a whim and julienne was super accommodating even staying super late to make sure everything turned out perfect :) my hair has washed out to a super pretty light pink and I couldn't be happier :) Service: I reached out to this salon really late at night and they got back to me immediately so a plus for being super on top of communication. Kind of frustrated and kind of disappointed, the color was so beautiful right after it was dyed, but after 1 wash the colors faded considerably. I understand that pink fades quickly, but 1 wash seems a bit too quick, and it just feels alittle bit like a rip off after paying an extra $100 for the pink toner. In total I spent around $450 and when I asked the stylist if anything could be done, she told me not to wash my hair everyday and just to buy a color pigment product at the salon instead of offering to help touch it up. I won't come back here to be honest. Edit: Elicia reached out to me and offered to recolor my hair for free and I went home with a color shampoo and tips to maintain the color this time around. I'm impressed with how efficient and professional Elicia was and how beautiful the end result was again! Will definitely be back to this salon. read more

I went in for a simple black dye and cut! The cut was good and my hairdresser was really nice. I came in with naturally dark dark brown hair if not black, but my ends have been previously processed and dyed many times. I had recently went in with a box dye which turned my hair green! I told my hairdresser that I wanted to go dark black and she delivered! I also got a hair mask as well. The mask made my hair pretty smooth but it seems like something you would need to get done on a biweekly/montly basis as it has since worn out. The color (post 2 months) is still good too! The reason for the 3 stars is because the black dye went on my skin. It took forever to wash off after. It went all over the back of my neck, ears, forehead, temples. I had somewhere to go after, but had to stop to go home and attempt to clean it off...which it did not! read more

My daughter first came across Salon One 9 as she was perusing the Yelp reviews for a nearby salon. The booking process was thorough, asking all the right questions, request for current hair pics and hair goals. Unbeknownst to us, we were assigned to Adriana, who happens to be one of the best colorists I have had the fortunate opportunity to do my hair. My daughter was so ecstatic about her results, I was compelled to book with her as well. As with anyone who is looking to have color done, there is always that apprehension about the final results but, I was beyond happy with the outcome, as was my daughter with hers. Sweet and personable, Adriana asked all the right questions wanting to make sure she met my desired goals. I wanted to capture the color without the use of bleach. My hair is black so I wasn't sure that would be achievable but, she was able to do it with as little product as necessary. During the whole process, she made every effort to make me feel as comfortable as possible, with offers of light snacks and a glass of sangria to boot! I always love the results when I go here! They are very careful with this whole covid situation. Once you get there you wait outside until someone takes your temperature and they give you hand sanitizer and lead you to an outdoor patio to wait to go in. They are respecting social distancing guidelines and ensure that the only people actually in the salon are the stylists and the clients. Today Nyckole helped me and i loved her work! I had very long hair but the bottom of it was straight and damaged due to a straight perm from a couple years back. She cut all that off for me and left me with my naturally slightly wavy hair. I appreciated how throughout the process she asked me if I wanted layers, more thinning, styling, etc and didn't just go ahead and do whatever she felt like. I was in desperate need of a haircut/change and I saw a picture of a girl with short hair and it sparked some interest. This is an overdue review. As you can tell by the pictures, my hair did not turn out anywhere close to the picture I sent Jeanne when I first booked my appointment through yelp. I expected it to be darker after toning, but when it still came out light, I thought I would just roll with it. When I got home, I realized that my hair was orange! And I tried using the fanola purple mask and it was still bad. I sent a message on yelp explaining my dilemma, but she just said to try using the fanola blue to get rid of the orange and didn't offer any other solution. I went back to my old colorist and her assistant helped fix my hair. I think the salon itself is great and I'm sure the other stylists do a good job, but it sucked to spend more than necessary to get my hair fixed. read more
