BOOK WITH JUAN at Salon First! I've been going to Juan for over 10 years, and he is truly the only person I trust with my hair. Whether it's color, cuts, layering, or styling, he consistently exceeds my expectations every single time. His attention to detail is incredible, and his layering skills are honestly unmatched. Beyond his talent, Juan is just an amazing human being. He makes every appointment such a great experience with his positive energy, kindness, and professionalism. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients and takes pride in his work. I've referred so many friends, family members, and colleagues to him over the years, and every single one of them has become a loyal client. That's a testament to the quality of his work and the person he is. If you're looking for a hairstylist who is talented, trustworthy, and consistently delivers exceptional results, I cannot recommend Juan highly enough. He's the best of the best! read more

I am a BIG fan of Marilyn. I am a long-time client, and could not see myself going to another stylist! I must start off by saying that I have curly hair, and I have had my share of hairstylists who are unfamiliar with cutting it- yes, it's different! Marilyn's cuts have enhanced my curls, without leaving it with the mushroom-like step look I have gotten in the past. This is mostly due to the fact that Marilyn LISTENS to the client. She pays careful attention to what I am looking for and offers advice to meet my hair goals. Most importantly, Marilyn is a true professional, who is always looking to improve her craft. read more

Marilyn is the epitome of exceptional service! Not only does she always give the perfect cut, but she also asks all the right questions, takes her time to get every detail right, and she offers helpful advice to help between cuts. Spending time in Marilyn's chair is a heavenly little retreat that I always look forward to getting back to. I leave the salon feeling fabulous, get compliments left and right and never stumble trying to recreate what she did, because she always points out exactly what I need to do to maintain my style at home. We were in Coronado for a wedding 7 Long Island New York women and who was going to do our hair? After 1 phone call to Modern Marilyn we were booked and stylist ready to help us in every way. Marilyn and two co workers from the Stella Luna salon met us Sunday morning with mimosa and blow dryers ready to glam. The hair wash was incredible and scalp massage was off the charts. The blowouts were one better then the next. The mimosa were readily available. We all had a great time preparing to share in our friends daughters wedding. I am so pleased that he has been able to blend this gorgeous rich copper that could possibly exist somewhere in nature and looks incredible with my natural coloring. He is also extremely competitively priced for the area. Whenever I go see him I get nonstop compliments, not just on my hair. People say to me oh my gosh, you look like you're glowing! Wow, you look like you've lost weight! What have you been doing with your skin lately, it's absolutely radiant! And I'm like no... I just got my hair done and can we talk about his blowouts please??? I have never ever had a stylist be able to give me a blow out that can easily last a week with just a little dry shampoo touchup.
